I think it's in two parts because one part seems to have the mount which can be different but the probe part will be standard and easier to produce?

Hmmm. If you really need a probe lens for a particular job the cost is what it is. What's the problem with renting the Laowa if that's the tool for the job. You just need to build in the cost when you charge for the job.

You can use apsc lenses on full frame, some of them even covers way bigger circle than aps-c just not the full fullframe, but then you can just crop out the black part

@@spanishprisoner That may vary per system. I know that on Sony mirrorless you can swap the lenses between full frame and APS-C. You just get very strong vignetting on the full frame camera unless you switch it to APS-C mode, and the APS-C camera just crops down to the centre part of the image from the full frame lens.

700 dollars is still expensive for something that fiddley. But I'm happy there is now a cheaper option. Do they have a periscope option? But omg those lego star wars images were amazing. And I thought they were sharp! The one you think was out of focus, it was clearly focused on Vader's cape. And that was tac sharp.

Laowa has recently released a Macro lense kit with up too 50x Magnification . Cheaper than the Probe lense

i don't know if you knew this but if it's APC-S/Cropped lens, it's probably 1.5x meaning if you use 50mm full frame lens on cropped lens, it's most likely to be 75mm lens
