It's funny how Splatoon VA's ends having some connection with the game. Alice (voice of Marina) did some covers without filtres of OTH songs. And the voices of Callie and Marie ended up in a band because they liked working together. Who knows what will happen with Anna and Laura. The voices of Deep Cut.

the title "onward" just works so well for this in my opinion because it has that "walking" kind of sound to it and it starts to ascend but then never reaches a real peak, it just goes back down and continues...kind of feels like the song is continuing onward despite things not going as they were supposed to. as usual thanks for making me appreciate this song more than i already did ♡

Honestly, it's really interesting how this song just builds up and builds up constantly but never really meets any explosive finale. Maybe it represents how you're taking a long elevator ride back to the status quo, there's nothing else to worry about Anyways, this has been really fun, thanks for the video!

Am I the only one that feels like Acht also has some vocals in this track? There’s some sections where the main melody just _slightly_ different from how Marina usually sings, and also a transition overlaps Marina’s normal voice with this one. It could just be multiple tracks of Marina’s vocals, but to me that voice gives the same feel as the sounds you hear for Acht’s dialogue. (The best example I can find is 3:00 in this video.)

I thought so too, I was convinced 1st part was Marina & Perl, 2nd part was Acht and Pearl with sprinkle of Marina & 3rd with the really high note was Acht. Felt like a way to reflect the girls's evolution from Mari & Pearl meeting to Acht being freed from mind control. Unfortunately it's been debunked that Acht sung in this, so headcanon out the window I guess lol.

As it turns out Marina’s VA confirmed Acht doesn’t actually sing in the song. I did initially think Acht sang there as well funnily enough

@@Karii470 in part because when Pearl sings her verse, it sounds like there’s two voices when it’s just Pearl’s edited, which brings the assumption Acht sings after it

That's sad. I was expecting to hear her too. Like, yeah a DJ like Marina. This isn't 3MIX with Octavio and Big Man being those who provide the music.
