Been looking forward to this video since your sky FC discussion helped convinced me to get into the series. Still halfway through this game and really excited to see where it goes. Can't wait for the games of 2016 video!

This is another game in 2016 that I have not heard one person say one bad thing about it. I heard from my favorite rpg review site that it was considered the best turn based rpg of 2016. If I ever decide to get more involved in this generation of gaming , I'll definitely have to give this game a try since I enjoyed trails in the sky a lot.

in chapter 3 of trails 2 and i gotta say its really grown on me. it seems like alot of jrpgs focus on a couple of things that make the game good and this game would be the dialogue and characters. the gameplay is really fun too because it never feels like it drags in battles and turns move quickly. In the second one I really have to make use and understand the quartz system to make better spells to exploit weaknesses to overcome chapter bosses which makes it more rewarding too. i do half and half with some good ol school grinding with some preparation tactician work. it takes time building the plot and characters but it makes it a far richer story. i dont know how long it will take me to get through this game with my schedule. if i didnt have a busy spring i think i could do close to a chapter a day so i think realistically maybe i could finish this series including steel by summer time and getting caught up on some newer games. great review and seeing you back on youtube.

Great discussion Dustin! Cold Steel 2 was my n1 game of 2016, and I agree that Senkai did really good comments about the game. This is easily on the best jrpg series since the old days (and I love its old schoolness at heart), and I cannot wait for the third game, however, this spring we are going to get Trails in the Sky the 3rd to keep us warm at night while waiting for Cold Steel 3, and I am optimistic about the chance of getting Zero and Ao no Kiseki (their localization depend on the sales of Trails SC and the Cold Steel games, and for what I know they did well - for jrpg standards...) Judging by the way the story of Cold Steel 2 ends, I think that the third game is going to be mainly a connecting point with the following trilogy that takes place in Calvard, but we'll see...

Wait until you see the ending for Cold Steel 3!! Then we have the fourth one coming out this Fall, but in Japan of course. I couldn’t wait, so I imported the third one and played it with Google translate. Lol Have you seen or heard anything about the third one? Or are you waiting for the translation?

Couldn't agree more and they also made the enemies was less spongie by adding damage multiplying items and overdrive unlike the original. I one shot the second last bosses and 2 shot the final boss :) Great to hear fan translations are coming for the other games as Zero no Kiseki has my favorite soundtrack. I still prefer the story of Trails in the Sky though.

I liked Cold Steel 1 much more BECAUSE of the school setting. But i'm heavily into manga/anime , so maybe i'm accustomed to the setting.

Great video. I love The Legend of Heroes series in general, even the bad ones on PSP I love. I really wish more people would play the Trails games, if people actually gave them time, I am positive they'd love them. The slow starts of the games, make people stop playing and my god are they missing out. Falcom in general are amazing, LOH and Ys are two of my favourite series in gaming. I put LOH on par with Final Fantasy for me personally. Hopefully we'll get the Crossbell games in an official translation in the future. Really hyped for Tokyo Xanadu coming west this year, and I am hoping for Ys VIII.
