Tails' Skypatrol is a horizontal-scrolling shooter set within the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. Its plot involves Sonic's sidekick, Miles "Tails" Prower, traveling to a tropical island to stop the villainous Witchcart, who has turned its inhabitants into crystals.
Despite being in full English, it was exclusive to the Japanese market unfortunately.

Animal Fun Fact: This game was originally planned to be a Disney game, and would have featured such Disney villains as Pete, Zeke Wolf (A.K.A. the Big Bad Wolf) and Mizrabel from Castle of Illusion. Sega retooled the game to be based on Sonic the Hedgehog (in a rare game where the titular blue hedgehog is nowhere to be seen). You can see beta footage of the game in Sega Video Magazine, issue 1995/4.

This is a short but charming game. It's a shame that Tails and other Sonic The Hedgehog characters never got any of their own (besides Tails' Adventure on the Game Gear), spinoff games like these in the years following this game.

There was a story arc based on this game in the Archie comics… Don’t remember if it was caused by a Genesis Wave, though… I kept getting my subscription cancelled for some reason, so I wound up missing about 100 issues from the middle of the run and most of the Genesis Wave arcs…

I had a Game Gear when a kid. I attained maybe 30 or so games. Never got to play this one. Was cool seeing this and great job getting through the game. Didn't seem to difficult really. Wish Tails would get another spinoff game lol

This is such an interesting game but I like how uquinqe it is and what makes it better is that tails gets to use a ring as a weapon against the enemies and even during the boss fights wish this game did come to the states I would have loved to play such an awsome game like this

I've tried playing this on the GameCube via Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Gems Collection, and man is it a mess! I couldn't figure out what was going on. I think it's a good thing this never came to the states.
