Love the system and very much here for the setting. However, if you say Apple-aysha in the region, they’ll throw an apple-atcha.

I went my Freshman year at WKU. Pearce Ford Tower resident. My parents and their families were born and raised in Everts, in Harlan County, not to far from Red Bird. I got Hollers in my blood, I guess....But the appeal of this setting is just like you mention. You have so many opportunities for good role play when you play the underdog. The Big Boys are such appealing villains....and yeah the cryptids are a great addition. I'm looking to run the PPC, which is probably the best Pinnacle has produced since 50 Fathoms; and they make super great material any way you please. I'll keep an eye out of Roll 20 here soon.

If I had a nickel for every Appalachian folk horror game I've seen lately I'd have two nickels but it's weird it happened twice.

Ooo, glad to see you talk about this, I was curious about this game but haven't had a chance to really look into it. So glad to have more Game Geeks, thanks Kurt.

I backed this and Old Gods of Appalachia on Kickstarter. I love the darker stuff and the folk horror feel.

10:00 You might like the monsters in "Into the Wyrd and Wild". Creepy forest asthetic. Different for sure but seems similar in tone. I wish I backed Holler, reminds me a bit of 'Old Gods of Appalachia'. Will have to check it out if it goes retail.

Looks an interesting setting. Just how backwardly compatible is it? I have the deluxe explorer's edition of savage worlds and have seen no reason to get the adventure edition as a result. Is it reasonably easy to work with the DX version?

Would you recommend this setting for a group that is brand-new to Savage Worlds?

With a few tweaks this setting could be set in any place in Latin América where this mierda is unfortunately happening

Does this game seem a little similar to Deadlands to anyone else? It is very good and I am glad I bought it, but it does seem like the similarities are there...
@trollge3712 Жыл бұрын
I haven't played deadlands but it seems like they could have some similarities in content (and of course very similar gameplay) but I think there's a big difference in tone and the creatures and lore of the setting really set it apart to me.
