Game Grumps Animated: Doomed Domain

The first DLC pack for Breath of the Wild came out the same day this was uploaded. That's pretty cool, right?

This is a game grumps animation based around the nintendo video the legend of zelda: breath of the wild in which arin and danny confront the zora about their problem due to the devine beast. hilarity ensues, let me tell you, when dorephan prince sidon and muzu get into this heated discussion hahahaha
ok im gonna break it to ya im just doing this because apparently it helps with searching similar to the tags i dunno maybe itll work i havent actually seen any conrete proof of this being the case but i do see that when im googing something itll do that thing where it makes text bold when its the exact word you searched for and if its on a youtube video that bold text will usually be in the description.
So I guess time will tell if this works! Or not...

Kidd’s there are two variants to the Zora species in game lore; fresh water and sea water. I at least assume that the river Zora are the Rito in wind waked and the fish told who update your map are the specially adapted defendants of the sea Zora

A friendly reminder for those who didn't play Breath of the Wild. The rain was flooding a reservoir to the point of breaking the dam, which would have severely damaged if not destroyed Zoras domain. :p

Maybe they are some kind of fresh water variety. A subspecies made up of those that were too much of a pussy to leave the river to go back to the sea after their parents swam upstream to have sex/die. So they have little girly baby gill that can't handle salt. They are worried about their blood pressure.

The ones in OOT/MM/TP are Sea Zoras. The ones in any 2D Zelda games (with the exception of Oracle of Ages as they also have Sea Zoras) are River Zoras.

In Ocarina of Time Zora's Domain is the source of Hyrule's water, which flows down to Lake Hylia which eventually flows to Hyrule Castle Town. Source of Hyrule's water. Rivers... lakes... FRESHWATER. The zoras in Ocarina of Time are freshwater! Given that Zora's Domain in Breath of the Wild gets their water from a mountain, I'd say they're freshwater as well. That stuff in Majora's Mask makes things a bit more complicated and contradictory though... but that's an alternate dimension so I'll give it a pass for that.

I didn't realize it until later, but those zora history tablets talk about how the Zora kingdom and the nearby hylians protected each other centuries before and so they maintained a very close kinship to each other. Actually very cool of the Zora king to take responsibility for his allies so many years later (or he could just not want his fancy architecture destroyed by a tidal wave. Who knows 😁)

Something Only just noticed watching this, Doraphan says "Swallowed by the SEA" that's pretty key in the danger to Zoras. The ones in Breath of the Wild seem to be Freshwater Fish, their water comes from a huge inland resevoir and they are only shown in marshs and rivers. In game they specifically tell you they dont want the rest of Hyrule destroyed. But if they truly are Freshwater, too much flooding this close to the ocean would most likey poison them when the waters mixed

The Zora in BotW seem to be surprisingly more land dwelling than other Zora. The fact they King Johansen and Dorephan built a dam in the East reservoir makes it obvious that the Zoras either rely on the reservoir not overflowing, or that the excessive rain is bad for their economy or something.

I dunno too much about the Zora biology, but I don’t think they can breathe underwater indefinitely, otherwise Zora’s domain would be underwater already, I believe they’re amphibians, they can breathe underwater but will need to come up for air sooner rather than later. And even if that’s not the case and they can breathe underwater indefinitely, have you tried setting up a home underwater? Long story short, it doesn’t work as well as you’d expect.
