Even in regard to "was it the first chicken or the first chicken egg?" because chickens and dinosaurs are both one of the same evolutionary chains (archyopteryx as every bird's genetic grandparent). The first chicken that is of the chicken species, came from an egg that contained the genetic material FOR a chicken. Even if its parents where of the other species. Like how the first pup that was no longer a wolf, but a dog, was still a dog in the womb of a tamed wolf. No matter how you put it, from a scientific standpoint the egg a l w a y s comes first.

Arin is wrong about the “chicken or egg thing.” Because there has to be a relative of the chicken to lay the first chicken egg. The chicken can’t just appear out of thin air, it has to come from an egg from the closest ancestor of the chicken.

nah if chickens evolved from dinosaurs, dinosaurs for the most part laid eggs. I don't think there's any mammalian dinosaurs. So the egg came first, and that's been the constant while the chicken has gotten to the delicious, finger-licking stage we're at now
