Princess Peach My friend went full Undertale and made me sit to watch a playthrough, and if an emotional scene happened and I wasn't having a reaction, he would immediately get defensive. It was awful. Feel what I feel! Validate my experience! Got to a point where we were three quarters through and I had to ask him to start skipping filler. Does this scene with the fish lady making you dinner have any importance or impact outside of this scene? No? It's just cringey, try hard humor with a girl being intense for no reason? Oh, it's important because it makes me like the character more and so the good ending will effect me more? Yeah, nah, ya failed, skip this scene and anything else even remotely like this scene. I don't like these characters, I don't like this humor, nothing about anything happening right now is endearing or charming or funny, I just want to finish this supernatural horror science fiction plot. And when we finished it and got the big ultra good ending, I was satisfied with it while still not caring about majority of the characters. I got my conclusion to the main plot, that's all I cared about. And that infuriated him so much. I think it would have been better if I hated the whole thing, but the fact I enjoyed myself despite the characters just hurt him somewhere.
