Fun fact, if you go back to the first Danganronpa there's a bit near the end of the playthrough where they joked about suddenly changing Makoto's voice for no reason... and for the bit, Arin switched into exactly the voice he later ended up using for Nagito. Which is doubly hilarious considering the two of them share voice actors in English AND Japanese. Also, another fun fact, their Japanese voice............... Ogata Megumi........................... was also Yugi in season zero.

Combined with the hints given in the emails, Arin thought that the "remnants" referred to the survivors and the "ultimates" referred to the Junko followers (which is technically correct, kinda) The only difference from the "ultimate despairs" is that the "remnants of despair" is missing Junko.
