here is a game. Its called , "Flying Blind" . One guy flies and one guy wears the goggles. The guy with the goggles gives verbal navigation to the pilot to make it through a course. Boom.

Not always true. My son and I were both playing with JJRC H33s (these are toy-grade quads, and that might be the difference) and we did bind both quads to one controller by accident. We did a reset and tried it again. He flew both... for about twenty seconds before a crash of one was inevitable and he had to drop them down.

You should do some PID-Gambling :) You just need a dice and a deck of regular poker cards. The first dice is for the yaw, roll or pitch. (lets say 1 and 2 is yaw and 3, 4 is roll ..) The second dice is for the P. I. or D. And the last value you get from a poker card deck. (so you got the range from 1-13, A=1, J=11, Q=12, K=13) After that you save that value into your flightcontroller. Then you have to fly a fixed course with some basic tricks. If you master that without crashing do another round and another... At some point the quad should be very hard to fly or you are extremely lucky and got the perfect PIDs by luck, thats gambling ;) To spice the game a little bit up the pilot does not gamble himself and he`s is not able to see what value get changed. How about a bunch of hula hoops with butcher's paper over them, so you can burst through them cinematically? Or on calm day, anchor a bunch of lighter than air balloons and see who can pop them the fastest. (or combine the two.) Things happen so fast with quads that it's good to have a game where the point is to leave physical evidence that you succeeded. (on a cheap and replaceable medium)

I have a really cool challenge idea I haven't seen done before. A quad relay, best situation would be 6 players, for 2 teams of 3. 2 quads, 6 batteries. All of one team bind to their respective quad, and have a track that has obstacles and a couple of surprises but mostly straight. The goal is for the first 2 to take off, and get to the next teammate, and the next teammate switches batteries and takes off, continue to the finish line. I think that would be super wicked fun.

balloon on a 1 metre ribbon on everyones quad and you have to go through trees on a set course through different trees, knife edging.... and to see who can get the fastest lap. trying to not pop the balloon, last one with there balloon wins. I'm from Australia Chad, we're all good thinkers over here !! :)

Guys you are doing a great job promoting the hobby. Here are three ideas for the show right out of classic top gear: 1. After the flying, have sit down and talk about the madness that unfolded, everyone is really interested in how you guys got as good as you are, this sort of analysis between you guys will help us all learn the skills. Invite pilots who are not part of the main show(anyone you can get your hands on who can hover a multi-rotor in rate mode) to join you guys like you already did(with two seasoned pilots) in this episode. But then also have them do a race or a acro challenge in a time challenge format with a....wait for it..... "reasonably priced" quad! You could use something like an Eachine, or a ZMR 250/Naze rev5, with Emax motors and esc's, no Taranis, give them a Flysky instead, to stay within the price range. It will be fun to watch the fails and interesting to see their opinion on the performance of the "value" machine, and most importantly, it wont bust the budget. 2. Get performance quads, and have them tested on a standard course by your very own, Stig. Most of them will be custom built by hobbyists and small entrepreneurs for speed and agility, and great electronics performance. In a few years many companies will come out with quality products like Immersion RC's Vortex Pro, and those will be tested on your show. This will end up being an amazingly entertaining resource for people who are picking out their next quad, or getting into the hobby seriously. Trust me, there is no shame in paying a tribute to that great show and bringing these elements into your show, it will be great for the hobby and will drive the industry forward. 3. Pit yourselves against each other in challenges like you do already, but have moments where you guys have your own personal time with a camera and talk about your strategy to win and how you are going to sabotage the amazing Mr Steel etc etc. what I mean is make the competition really cutthroat, its all theatrics so it will be hilarious and your individual personalities will shine. Thanks guys for doing what you are doing, Keep rocking and rolling Pun intended.

I just started getting into fpv.. built my first racing kwad drone lol with no experience flying one period... so I just watched this video and I have a game for you all.... corn hole with tiny whoops teams of 2.. you have to take off from one platform and try to drop thru the hole via failsafe.. when you engage failsafe you have to be at least 8 inches off the board. put some kind of padding on the board so you don't damage the tiny whoop of course.. by the way just wanted to say thanks to you all for the info you guys put out there..

My idea for a new game.... Everyone pick a fairly inexpensive race quad and meet in neutral territory. Everyone places their name in a hat and then they are drawn from random. You may not receive your own name. The catch, you're racing whoever's UAV got drawn from the hat. BONUSES (time knocked off... your discretion) for tricks during the race. The winner is decided after 1-5 races. The Prize? Pink slips. That UAV is your's now buddy! Or quite the opposite, the loser now pays the bill at a restaurant of the Top Scorer's choice.

I would like to see a "Game of Drones" style battle using the race drones. 1. limited time to prep your drone. 2. limited materials provided (everyone has access to the same type of materials). 3. Hold it in an interesting location that has twists and turns (Charpu style). Could be a hoot!!

it's called train. There is the leader and everyone behind him copies his movements. when you fail you are out. draw straws for the lead position. Everyone is in the air at the same time. need spotters. Awsome vid

Chase - 1 person chases another (not on a course), the first to crash or land loses. Each contestant gets 1 battery per round. Chasers must go through all obstacles and follow the same general path as their targets. An elimination-style tournament could be set up.

laser tag quiddich ,, have a fast micro quad be the golden snitch fitted with pv or infra red kill switch etc and 1 quad from each team have a seeker drone eg 210 charpu with focussed ir leds or laser, could also have 3 hoops at eah end as goals,, each hoop is ringed by leds that switch from hoop to hoop at random , a drone must fly thru the lit hoop to score a point, game is broken into 2 halves .. each half lasts the duration of the last drone on field to lose power or land... similar rules to harry potter quiddich , could even go as far as doin the old witch on broom stick quads lol... have fun with that one fellas

I think one game you could do, is vehicle vs. quadrocopter, when a car/dirt bike/ go kart/ext. races vs. a quad, and the quad has to go through a cretin course, and the vehicle also has a specified course.

Play a game like where in the quads come into each other from opposite direction, and bail out at the last moment to prevent a crash. Person bailing out with style would win or something like that. Just like it was in the movie "Pearl Harbour".

I dont know if it's been done before but quadcopter lasertag might be fun. You could have medic drones, waypoints that unlock different weapons, safe zones etc... Im not into lasertag so dont know what type of games they play but can imagine quite a few different types could be conjured up. Theres a ready made open source platform called Miles tag that could potentially make the idea feasible and relatively fast to implement.

Here's a game: Acquire smoke grenades. Append a smoke grenade to a leader quad and ignite. 3 others must follow the leader through every single gap and maneuver. The last follower in the air that successfully followed all of the leader's lines wins. The smoke grenade both makes it easier to find the leader and makes it difficult to follow too closely. The point is to follow lines, not necessarily acro moves, so this is more of a proxy game than what you guy did this time around.

Make it a "follow the leader" where everyone's up in the air 10 seconds after the preceding pilot and has to try the trick "on the fly" with no real warning ahead of time. Last quads up when low battery warning rings get a point for the round. Then do it again starting with a different leader, tally up points over multiple rounds.
