How is Hough noted as #1 and Grimsley #3 when it was a home game for Grimsley?

You are correct. Grimsley was the #1 seed in the West bracket. Same bracket as Hough. Hough was the #5 seed. Therefore Grimsley had home field throughout the pllayoffs. Grimsley defeated Hough in a thrilling 3 OT game. They went on to defeat Weddington and become the 4A champs in the West. Grimsley will play New Bern on December for the NC State 4A Championship.

Their state ranking at the time had Hough #1 and Grimsley #3. Hough’s schedule strength was harder than Grimsley’s. Playoff rankings is as the previous comment stated.

rankings are based off of max preps power rankings, They had hough 1. But you are correct, Grimsley is the 1 seed of the playoff brackets so they have home field throughout the playoffs
