I think I prefer the old format, just because I like that the awards force the discussion to be organized by topic instead of by release date. I like to hear about all the great music this year at the same time, for example, as opposed to hearing one game nominated for music, and another game nominated thirty minutes later, then trying to remember what they said about the previous nominee for comparison. I realize they get to the comparisons in the later videos, but I would just personally prefer for that to be the focus.

Subnautica is a really great game and also free on the Epic Game Store. Get it, and my best advice is to use graph paper to plot out a personal map, and also carry at least three beacons and place them liberally. You can toggle then on and off.

Metal Gear Survive isn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be or say it is. It’s an insulting game to put out and was pretty much made just to shit on Kojima, but if it was an original IP, it would just be a mediocre game. Not the worst game of the year, but it deserves to be in the discussion of bad games this year just because of how Konami handled things.

I enjoyed metal gear survive a lot. The gameplay is always dumbed down to "put fence then poke". The tactic stops being effective quickly and even more so in multiplayer. If this game distanced itself from metal gear, it would have gotten a much better reception. For a co op game it was rad i want more games like it.
