"He left the room with his eyes burning and his daughter's wails echoing in his ears, and found the direwolf pup where they chained her. Ned sat beside her for a while. "Lady," he said, tasting the name. He had never paid much attention to the names the children had picked, but looking at her now, he knew that Sansa had chosen well. She was the smallest of the litter, the prettiest, the most gentle and trusting. She looked at him with bright golden eyes, and he ruffled her thick grey fur. Shortly, Jory brought him Ice. When it was over, he said, "Choose four men and have them take the body north. Bury her at Winterfell." "All that way?" Jory said, astonished. "All that way," Ned affirmed. "The Lannister woman shall never have this skin." AGOT Chapter 16 #justiceforlady

While I love Arya’s sense of justice and morality, I think it’s often overlooked how it’s not the smartest way to handle things especially in this world. The incident with the wolf is a big sign that the Starks, despite their honorable nature, are not well-equipped to handle the world they’ve found themselves in. It sounds cool and awesome to strike Joffrey and put him in his place because he is a jerk, but to forget that he is the King’s son and heir to the throne is very dangerous. Arya made a very hot-headed move that has consequences. People often talk a lot of shit about Sansa but she at least had the awareness to recognize people’s roles and positions and acting in accordance to that to avoid issues, Arya by striking Joffrey effectively did bring trouble upon her friend and her sister’s wolf. If she had just restrained herself, for all we know Joffrey might have just cut Micah a little and got bored and left and everyone would be alive and fine. But her headstrong attitude escalated the situation. Sansa might be naive but she at least understood to not rock the boat in this case, by choosing a middle ground, she wasn’t selling out her sister or her betrothed, she was taking herself out of the equation. It was the best move she could make in that moment. If she told the truth and got Joffrey in trouble, it would put her and her family in a dangerous position. If she blames her sister, obviously her sister would be in danger. Neither situation are what Sansa wants, so she picks the middle ground where it’s safest. Sansa’s decision might not be the most “honorable” but what good is honor if you’re dead. Arya’s “honor” could have gotten her family killed, they were lucky her father was old friend of the King. I love Arya but I often find that people can be blinded by her cool likable nature to realize when she’s making mistakes, what may be morally right is not always the smartest.

I think that was the point they were trying to make. That Arya's a hot headed child who doesn't give a damn about consequences idk 🤷♀️

Cersei was being a hater for sure, but it was slightly deeper than that. Ned has been named hand of the king, making him nominally the second most powerful person in King's Landing, maybe in all of the Seven Kingdoms. The incident with the children and the wolves was Cersei's chance to send a shot across Ned's bow, put him in his place. It was a demonstration of her power, a power play. That is the point.

I have seen Game of Thrones literally dozens of times and this is the first time I've realized that the knife used to attempt to kill Bran had a dragon bone handle. I knew about the valyrian steel, but I never noticed before that they also said the handle is made of dragon bone. Which means it's incredibly valuable, beyond just being made of the very rare valyrian steel.

Just the fact that he even asked such a question is almost impressive to me. The only thing i would say, and this is just from watching the intro, try not to set an expectation of what a character may be like because at this point we know that Viserys is not particularly pleasant but Igli hasn't seen all this before. For a reaction we want to see him form his own opinions and if your saying Viserys is a pos, then that doesn't leave him much room to think otherwise. Hope that's taken as useful feedback from a viewer. 😅 Liking these reactions so far!

Whatever Cersei said, Robert is the King. The King's justice is shit. He washes his hands of it like a Pontius Pilate. All he cares about is his own quietness whatever happens. Ned begins to see what kind of king he sacrified his life in the North and his family happiness to.

The show was not really popular and they’d scrapped the original pilot episode at first but after a few episodes got a bit of notoriety and then took off fast! I saw it randomly when it first came out and I was hooked (big fantasy geek here)…I wondered why no one knew it or why it had not been advertised (probably bc most people were not into medieval fantasy). The rest is history.❤

Just to let you guys know; when GOT first came out it was only telivised on HBO. So if you didn't have that channel you couldn't watch it. I wasn't able to start watching it until it was on another channel in reruns. I was also very confused when I watched S1 but when I watched part of S2; I went back to watch S1 & I understood it better & fell in love with this show. It's great you have 2 friends that are fans of the show to help you through it. I'm a big fan of this show. Also; the music is epic in every scene to evoke emotion. Rock on guys.

Cathelyn Stark (former Tully) overreacts to Jon Snow. Originally she was promised to Ned´s brother Brandon. After he was murdered together with his father Rickon by the Mad King Aerys II Targaryen and Robert´s Rebellion started, the houses of Stark and Tully agreed to keep up the union and so Cathelyn married Ned, whom she hardly knew. If you want to dig deeper into the history, there are the lores of every important house here on KZbin. They are spoilerfree since the end before GoT starts. Fun facts: there was a pilot filmed previous to the first episode, partly even with other actors (f.e. Tamzin Merchant for Emilia Clarke as Daenerys) and George RR Martin in a cameo as a wealthy merchant at Khal Drogo´s wedding. The result was so desasterous, that it was even thought not to produce the project further. Little parts were used in the first episode, f.e. when Tyrion visits the cathouse. Originally the Targaryens were supposed to have violet eyes according to the books, but the contact lenses were so uncomfortabe and irritating for the actors that this was dropped.

Ok, I just subscribed for another virgin run of my beloved series. BUT! Blake and Corey, are those really spoilers to tell that all Seven Kingdoms know already? Like, Cersei's name. Or why she was mad at Robert for going to the crypt immediately. Or who were the two most loyal houses to Targaryens. Or why "kingslayer" is badmouthing instead of prizing. I think explaining these bits would only ease Igli's journey over the the great job of exposing that early episodes do.

This is the first time I've watched GOT with you guys. I just discovered your channel, and I'm having a blast - but, I'm feeling kind of bad for the guy in the middle who's never seen the series before - it's like y'all are turning it into a classroom exercise! And, I'm guessing if someone had quizzed you after the very fist episode you ever watched - especially with some one else standing over you judging - you might not have done so well either... I know you've probably figured this out by now (because you are 4 months in at the time I've started watching it), but I've watched Game of Thrones several times - and I've watched a ton of these reactions so I see this a lot... The show is big and very deep with characters, lore, and history - but it's also great storytelling, and if you don't pay attention, you'll get lost; I would say just pay attention to the dialogue (I think most people who miss details in this show are getting distracted by the stunning, and sometimes disturbing, visuals, so they miss what's being said; an example might be the first time Jaime and Cersei are introduced, we are actually told they are siblings, but often, by the time of their encounter with Bran, a lot of people don't know what they're really looking at because they weren't listening in the beginning) -just pay close attention to the dialogue and it will fall into place - and you'll enjoy it more I think.

1. My favorite characters of this show are, in this order: The Imp - Tyrion Lannister, The Hound - Sandor Clagane and The Kingslayer - Jamie Lannister. It's enthralling and crude to say this now, especially since 2 of them are Lannisters and you don't really like them right about now to say the least lol, but it gives an interesting perspective to the unknowing dudes.😏 2. Season 1 - 3 were like 1 mil budget per ep, since season 4 they were like 10 mil budget an ep from what I know. 3. 12 is better than 9, just like 15 is better than 12, or 18 better than 15, dunno at which rate of progression or regression between them, though. 4. Jamie will explain best to Cat what Jon is in the 2nd season, let's just wait for that moment with anticipation. lol 5. For some reason youtube didn't send me notifications from ep 2 onwards with your reactions maybe because "Precondition for subscribing failed!", just idiots and abusers all of them. 6. 1st breakpoint here between the Lannisters and the Starks. 7. Sansa payed for her lie dearly, with her girl-direwolf's life. "Don't tell a lie" lesson learned the hard way. 8. This was probably my fav episode outside ep 9 of the season. 9. Onwards to ep 3!🎉 Which I'll be watching today, probably all of them 4 available from 2 to 5!🤙 10. The show's a 10!😁

I completely understand why Sansa didn't speak up! She's been betrothed to Joffrey, and she's eager to grow up and be the future queen, but she sees how nasty he and his mother are and is afraid of getting on their bad side. She'll have to spend the rest of her life with this boy, so she opts to *not* give him a reason to be nasty to her (Not that that will stop him, but I digress). She is also a Stark, so she's been taught that loyalty to the throne is of high importance, but she's also been taught that honesty and justice are of high importance, too-- she's caught between two of the most key things her father and his house value and she's afraid. I very much like that the direwolves are direct mirrors to the Stark children they belong to. I always loved how symbolic it was that when they die, their direwolf also dies-- Lady's death was symbolic of the death of Sansa's childhood innocence, unjust cruelty at the hands of Joffrey and Cersei, completely beyond her control. Arya sending Nymeria away to save her is also mirrored by how Arya will run away, run wild and be her own driving force independent of her house and name. More examples follow as the story progresses, of course. I have a lot of feelings about the direwolves
