I can certainly understand that some fans aren't happy about changes made from the books, that's certainly their right, but so many of those same people resort to very petty and vitriolic personal attacks on the writers, which I find to be incredibly childish and unbecoming of a spoiled and entitled fandom --- David and Dan have always been the kind of showrunners who have always said they understood if some fans are unhappy with their direction of the show, they have always been considerate about book fans being angry about changes, they have been very polite and respect, never attacking any member of fandom, so to see the hate placed on them for simply changing the story to fit a TV show, it's just unfortunate. At least GRRM of all people understands that books and TV will inevitably lead to differences he has learned to accept a long time ago. At least GRRM does appreciate what David and Dan have done for the brand of ASOIAF and its popularity
