Sansa is playing a facade. It’s a lot clearer in the books that she absolutely despised the Lannisters after what happens in season 1. People forget to understand how difficult her situation is - she’s a highborn noble girl betrothed to the king, and she knows EXACTLY how joffrey is now, so she is essentially using courtesy as her armour. If she were to publicly mourn her father … imagine what joffrey would do to her. You don’t have to like her , but at least understand her!! I feel it’s pretty obvious she’s playing a facade here ? Especially cause just last episode she almost pushed joffrey off of the parapet and said that Robb should bring her joffreys head 💀
@MaxFalange7 ай бұрын
She is a girl, an innocent and sweet girl, captured by violent and sadistic people, with no one to contain her... I think she is perhaps the character who suffers the most in the series.
@Cherryfxmls7 ай бұрын
@@MaxFalange yes!! Sansa is canonically gentle and kind-hearted, she tries to see the good In everyone (i.e “gentle the rage inside him” , referring to the hound). She appears a brat in season 1 , but this is after the wolf incident, which would have been immensely traumatic for an 11 year old girl to process - especially with how bonded the Starks are to their wolves. The whole point of Sansa’s character arc is staying kind and true-hearted despite her trauma and not becoming a hateful, vitriolic person. In my opinion, the show fumbled this by changing her character arc later on, but she slowly develops more agency as the books / series go on. She has to pretend to protect herself against the likes of cersei and joffrey, who could very easily torture or execute her for siding with treason, and sansa is holding out hope that Robb will come and rescue her , so she holds her tongue , plays into joffrey’s wishes and secretly prays for her family. It’d be so incredibly difficult to do this, all while being a child thrown into this politically and morally complex situation where your father has just been murdered before your eyes and you’re left as a hostage …. And she suffered ALOT I agree, I feel so deeply for her and arya, they were children in such traumatic situations - they should have remained playing at Winterfell with their brothers , but they have to grow up too fast :(

Jon chose the nights watch for multiple reasons. Being a bastard, he had little hope for glory. The NW was once a place to go to serve the realm with honor. Benjen was there so maybe there is honor in it. He didn’t realize it had turned into a place of prisoners, rapists and criminals. There are still a few honorable men who volunteer to go there to serve either because they didn’t have a promising future south of the wall or because they’ve gotten older and want to be useful still so they offer whatever expertise/prowess to the NW.

Religious Lore of Westeros (because it comes into play this season and ik there will be LOTS of confusion): Long ago, the main ethnic group of Westeros was the *First Men* that worshiped unspecified gods (i.e. Ironborn from the Iron Islands (Theon) worship the Drowned God). They are collectively known as the "old gods". The worship of old gods is no accompanied by priests and holy texts. Prayers are done in silence. Worshipers visits *godswoods* , groves contained within castles throughout the Seven Kingdoms, where a heart tree can be found (typically white, red leaves, and a carved face; although other species of tree appear farther South). - Most associated region is the North (+ the Iron Islands). A few thousands years ago saw a migration of *Andals* from Essos to Westeros. Many of the petty kingdoms of the First Men were destroyed, although some takeovers were peaceful and facilitated by marriage. With them, the Andals brought the *Faith of the Seven* , sometimes commonly referred to as just the Faith. Members of the Faith worship the *Seven Who Are One* , a single deity with seven aspects of faces (the Father, the Mother, the Warrior, the Smith, the Maiden, the Crone, the Stranger). Compared to the old gods of the North, these are considered the *new gods* . Worship is done in septs (kind of like our modern churches) that can be found across the Seven Kingdoms, although rarely in the North and absent from the Iron Islands. + When Aegon the Conqueror came to Westeros, he converted to the Faith to ease political strife within the kingdoms. + The epicenter of the Faith and the seat of the High Septon (kind of like the Catholic Pope) is the Great Sept of Baelor in King's Landing. Previously was the Starry Sept in Oldtown, the seat of House Hightower (hello HotD watchers) Then we have the religion of R'hllor. It is based on a Manichaean view of the world: R'hllor, the god of light, heat and life, and R'hllor's antithese the Great Other, the god of ice and death. They are locked in an eternal struggle over the fate of the world; a struggle that, according to the ancient prophecies from the books of Asshai, will only end when *Azor Ahai* , the messianic figure, returns wielding a flaming sword called Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and raises dragons from stone. The red priests/priestesses of R'hllor associate fire with life. They see shadows as creations of the Lord of Light, servants of light and the children of fire. According to Melisandre (seen in this episode), the Lord of Light cherishes innocent and beautiful people and items, making them the most precious sacrifice. The religion is found primarily in Essos as previous attempts to spread it in Westeros have failed. (Can't wait until you meet Thoros of Myr) *That's all I can remember. Correct me if I'm wrong. And as much as I personally dislike religious fanaticism, I like how they portray it in the show and their use of prophecies that are truly up for interpretation

07:32 "I wonder why these guys are still so loyal?" To answer this, here an excerpt from A Game of Thrones, when Jorah and the Dothraki find Daenerys and her dragons alive in the funeral pyre: 'Wordless, the knight fell to his knees. The men of her khas came up behind him. Jhogo was the first to lay his arakh at her feet. "Blood of my blood," he murmured, pushing his face to the smoking earth. "Blood of my blood," she heard Aggo echo. "Blood of my blood," Rakharo shouted. And after them came her handmaids, and then the others, all the Dothraki, men and women and children, and Dany had only to look at their eyes to know that they were hers now, today and tomorrow and forever, hers as they had never been Drogo's. As Daenerys Targaryen rose to her feet, her black hissed, pale smoke venting from its mouth and nostrils. The other two pulled away from her breasts and added their voices to the call, translucent wings unfolding and stirring the air, and for the first time in hundreds of years, the night came alive with the music of dragons.'

It's important to know that the relationship that daenerys have with her dragons is an exception to all other targaryens with their dragons, she sees them as her children not as a weapon just like other targaryens did, other targaryens had dragons by approaching them and bonding with them or having dragon eggs hatching in their cradle as babies MEANWHILE deanerys had them hatched by blood magic in a pyre after they were dead for many years, the dragons see her as their mother, everything about daenerys is exceptional, she's meant to be everything her ancestors weren't, even her life exiled expeirencing the struggles of the lower class is meant to build her character as someone humble not proud or arrogant as her ancestors.

I need like 5 of these every day xD; Oh and... 1. Dothraki follow strength but they're also very superstitious people. Warrior nomadic tribes, why wouldn't they be? Look at history. Even now people, if not superstitious, are a little stitious. Dany walked into a burning pyre and "birthed" three live dragons which hasn't happened in what, 150 years? So yeah, those people are following her. 2. Sansa isn't brainwashed. She's trying to survive. Put yourself in her shoes. She might have been a naive girl in season 1 but the beheading of her father was the turning point for her. You can see the lump in her throat when she denounces her family as traitors but you'll see more clues in the coming episodes what she's going through.

So confused why Brig said “that’s not true” when Robb said that King Joffrey was no true king or a true Baratheon… What? lol
@MagicSecretsandMysteries6 ай бұрын
Its so on the nose cause the comet & the dragons are constantly described as a "flaming swords looming over the world" in the book. And in the next scene we see Melissandre say a worrier will pull a burning sword from the fire and will be born as azor ahai.

Came to say Sansa is a child trying to survive not someone who is brainwashed but many have said it already. People often forget she is just a kid and trying her best.

The scene where Littlefinger takes that dig on Cersei is really dumb. It didn't happen in the books and would it wouldn't have happened. His whole thing is that he's secretly a player, he has no reason to make himself seem like a threat so outwardlyv or get on Cersei's bad side.
@rai24237 ай бұрын
Yeah. They really messed up his character at times. Which doesn’t make sense since the actor clearly can play the secret mastermind very well.

-Sansa is far from brainwashed and is already very anti-Lannister. Last episode she told Joffrey her brother could bring her Joffrey's head. But she is a political prisoner. She is also engaged to the psychopath who murdered her father and is amusing himself by tormenting her. They are waiting for her to menstruate so he can impregnate her with his monsters. Probably not nicely. She must keep herself safe right now. Both Stark girls are smart and adaptable, which is why they're interesting. Her father refused to play the Game of Thrones, and she watched him die. She now has to become a player. And she must learn to become a good enough one to stay alive. -The Dothraki respect power and this woman emerged from fire unharmed with 3 previously extinct dragons and a commitment to conquer. I'd follow Dany too, lol. -John didn't really have a title or inheritance. He may have been Ned's son, but he was a bastard. His siblings will get everything, his step-mother loathes him, but his uncle is at the wall and can train him up to be someone worthy. Night's Watch gives him purpose.

If you watch “Inside the Episode” after each one you’ll learn A LOT. They said Jack Gleason who played Joffrey is the nicest guy ever.
