Instead of rushing to Dragon Stone he could've convinced her to hold off and maybe Missandi and her Dragon wouldn't have died, If Jon wasn't the true heir then Varys and Tyrion more than likely wouldn't have turned against her prior to Kings Landing. the _Game of Thrones_ finale was boring... basically just a bunch of stuff happening slowly. some things were good, some things sucked, and even though it was slow, it seemed like the important stuff was rushed or just skipped over... my favorite part was Brienne writing about all of Jaime’s exploits in the White Book (?)... it kinda made me feel better at his return-to-start ending in the last episode. Grey Worm taking the Unsullied to Naath was nice, even though he sorta went nuts in the last episode, too. also Sansa got off scot-free, even though she was the one who set everything in motion that led to Dany going crazy. she needed some repercussion. I really wanted a final scene, or even a post-credits scene showing Drogon out in the world in some exotic new location, maybe finding some of the rumored other dragons in the far east of Essos...

@timchindles4245 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you guys seemed to mostly enjoy the finale and quite liked the rest of the season but I personally hated the finale and every episode after 2. So much of what happened in the finale just made zero sense. Where did all those Dothraki and Unsullied come from? Why did they not just immediately execute Jon and Tyrion? Where did all those Dothraki then go after Dany was killed? They're just never mentioned again, they would be running wild around the continent with apparently the tens of thousands of them that're still alive. Why did the north, with their apparently somehow still huge army, not fight to free their king Jon who in their eyes killed a queen they hated and didn't want? Why is everyone suddenly now getting along after Dany died? These people were all at war for years before Dany even came to Westeros over who should rule them but now they all just talk out their problems and decide on a new king in 10 minutes? Why are they all even staying together under one king? Before Aegon's conquest they were all separate kingdoms, and Dorne even after. Why would they all stay together after they saw how easy it was for the north to just leave? No way in hell the Iron Born and Yara would bend the knee to Bran, the Dornish would leave immediately as well. It was all wrapped up way too neatly and way too positively in ways that just don't make sense. There's also no way the people at large would accept a foreign born creepy cripple kid with scary magic powers as their king. Especially one who's sister is now the ruler of a now rival kingdom. Not to mention stuff like Tyrion "breaking the wheel".....and then just giving Highgarden and the Reach to Bronn because he owed him. Why would the people and lords of the Reach even follow a low-life scumbag sell sword like Bronn anyway? Why would he be made master of coin on the small council when Tyrion earlier had to explain to him what loans are? That entire part reeks of show only fanservice. The tone after Jon kills Dany after the mini time jump was incredibly jarring, it almost became a comedy. We didn't see any reactions apart from Jon's to her death, they yada yada'd her death. Absolutely nothing that happened after she died made any sense whatsoever. This episode, this season, and even the last few seasons have been huge disappointments to me and I just hope GRRM finishes the books one day.

Regarding Bran being the king, I think that he is king in name only, because correct me if I am wrong but being the three-eyed raven, he cannot intervene or change anything, he is just an observer. That also explains why he was so useless throughout the final seasons. So I think that the kingdom is now ruled by the council and the king's hand. That being said, I really disliked the fact that it wasn't Jon who sat on the Iron Throne at the end. Not only was he the most worthy, both by blood, reputation and actions throughout the series, but for half of the show we were led to believe that he will be the king in the end and I think that the writers, who tried their best to imitate GRRM, wanted to subvert expectations so badly, that they forgot it isn't the only thing which made game of thrones so great. Yes, the book and the first few seasons subverted expectations, but there was a logic underpinning it. Perhaps the books will have the same ending, but because they won't be so rushed, it will make sense. However, I think that we should be optimistic, Jon never wanted the crown and he is probably happier being in the north, closer to Sansa and Winterfell, than he would have been in king's landing. And the fact that he is seen leaving with the wildlings could also symbolize freedom, absolute freedom from what was being expected of him.

Good show CLCrew! Agree with McG about B&W overall GoT accomplishments, and like Kristian (I'm tired of the constant PC/SJW onslaught with fandom), I really disagree with Rocha on their recap (dude went full SJW Targaryen lol) regarding GoT finale... I binged season 7 & 8 since 7am leading up to the finale (with some fast forwarding), and as someone who feels popular/hit series' overextend their stay (ahem TWD, Lost), when watching 7 & 8 binge style it really played out just fine to me as one 13 episode season (save for Euron the only thing I loathed from GoT)... Loved the tragedy of Dany & Jon, and I'm happy the Stark House prevailed after all their trials & tribulations. Happy for Jon's return to the true North with Ghost & Tormund, happy my fave motley crew of Ser Davos, Brienne, Samwell, Pod, Tyrion and Bronn too, all survived the Game of Thrones. Thx to the creators, cast and crew for one of the best series of all time. In spite of it's detractors GoT will be on Best Of Lists forever, and will sweep them 2019 Emmy's, Dinklage guaranteed. And now my watch has ended :)

In season 8 ep2 they were all at Winterfell Tyrion asked to Bran about his adventures beyond the wall, Bran saying its a really long story, then Tyrion said, well make as if we are all stuck here in the middle of winter and got nothing to do and nowhere to go,pulled a chair near Bran , sumthin like this. Then it is implied they had a loooong conversation, it took place off screen.

maybe Grey Worm would’ve killed Jon out of rage, but if he didn’t walk in to see her dead body on the floor or something that might not have made sense. Jon was basically his only remaining superior, so unless Grey Worm wanted the throne for himself, what was he going to do? his whole thing was following Dany, and she was now gone... and killing Jon would’ve meant the rest of Westeros comes to kill them... so, it does make sense.
@pitui19875 жыл бұрын
Not just the rest of Westeros, but the thousands of Northmen directly under Jon’s command in the streets of a ruined and indefensible city would have attacked immediately if Jon were summarily executed. Grey Worm had lost his leader and her dragon, and couldn’t even be sure the Dothraki would follow him into a battle he precipitated. Since the Dothraki have never been concerned with avenging their leaders, they would have been as likely to just go home or to follow Jon as to obey Daenerys’s general. With victory both uncertain and meaningless, imprisonment was the correct choice.

A friend of mine said GOT was 7 years of my life taken away.. Really?? Really?? 1. Its a just a TV Show! and 2. This ending took NOTHING away from the amazing and fantastic show. Name another show that had such fanatstic and technically cinematic action scene during Kingslanding

In the Books Jon Snow dies defeating the Night King, Arya uses his face to confront Daenerys in Kings landing and assassinates her.

People being offended by the Bran the Broken thing forget that this is the spirit of the lore of the books and show. The kings in Westeros got their nicknames depending on how they accessed the throne, what they looked like, in essence what they are. Aegon the Unlikely, The King Who Knelt, Bran the Builder. Need more ? Come on, it's a show that takes place in the Middle Ages, people weren't that sensitive. Remember that it's not taking place now. Stories that don't take place now don't have to and should not cater to how we think. Imagine a slavery movie without the n-word ? Something that take place in a brothel without the word whore ? Come on

McG gave a great response to Kristian’s idea on Master’s of the Universe. Basically saying Star Wars meets LOTR is a cool idea but the one closer to GOTG could also be really cool. Disagree or not, that’s a good argument.

Whether you except this as a logical explanation or not its the only one that makes sense of any. Dany and her dragons were caught off guard by the Iron fleet ships...because she was told specifically by Euron in the Dragon pit he was terrified by the white walkers, and was taking the fleet back to the IRON islands since the dead couldn't swim hence recommended Dany do to (hence they having that interaction), being the only ones left alive when the GREAT WAR was over. Only Cersie knew, who later told Jaime that he was basically the dumbest Lannister, and that Euron was REALLY was going to get the Golden Company and ship them back to Westeros to fight for House Lannister. Hope that clears that up for you sir.

Kevin Light - they were also told that Circe would send her forces to help fight the Dead, but that was also a lie... and maybe dragons just have terrible peripheral vision, but it just seemed like they should’ve seen the ships long before they were in range of those ridiculous crossbow canons...
