@@aeldin131 An original thought would be Season 08 is a good season which would be completely inaccurate. S06 Ep 10 really was the pinnacle of the series even though some parts of S05 & 06 were poor compared to the Epic S 01 - 04 . S 07 characters started doing things they normally wouldn't (like making Tyrion completely stupid) and S 08 was a trainwreck. S07 & S08 should have been fleshed out over 3 seasons (at least) and given the fans the finish we deserved.

Since season 8 is so detached from the rest of GoT (S7 had some issues but S8 goes off the cliff) its not a bad thought-remember that in actual GoT bells in King's Landing don't mean surrender-season 2 both said and showed that very clearly.
@abhisheksharma073 жыл бұрын
@@pplr1 Detached is the most accurate word to describe it. But imo it was inevitable at some point. What people loved about 6 seasons was less action more drama, politics, character buildup. It was like watching a critically acclaimed drama. But on the other hand last season was like mindless action film like those superhero movies which btw still are a commercial success. But it felt the way it felt due to the pacing issue. The entire thing was rushed. Otherwise all the mind games, the politics, the character development, the human side to the characters all of this had to culminate in the so called 'mindless war action' . Imo it's wrong to judge it on season by season basis. Look it in its entirety. It had to end the way it ended.

@fenrox I don't think Aegon was very diplomatic - he and his sisters torched everything up until everyone (apart from Dorne) realized very soon that there was no point in fighting against 3 dragons (what happened in Harrenhal was case and point). And Jahaerys was not violent because he had no one to oppose him (and he was a good ruler, together with Alysanne who really cared about the people) - but do you think if he had a brother fighting for the iron throne that he would not have resorted to violence?

Neither does a dragon concern itself with the opinion of sheep. Apparently, as shown more than once. Because those behind the symbols of the dragon snd the lion perceive ANYONE not of their social standard as irrelevant. @pplr13 жыл бұрын
Say My Name. That is actually very wrong-and provably so. Daenerys transitioned Meereen into democracy in season six. That is not only recognizing the sheep have an opinion but that their opinion should be officially important. Season 8 was a combination of nonsense and character assassination-not just the ridiculous city burning but the line about others not getting "to choose" after what the actual Daenerys did in Meereen. Funny enough the writers didn't care about if others got "to choose" after all as later in that very episode they have a council laugh off the idea of democracy-and tried to portray that as ok.
@saymyname24173 жыл бұрын
@@pplr1 - Daenerys was never about freeing people or democracy. She simply needed the slave hoards and the slave traders as enforcers and to get things done for her. Plus, without these people there was no way she could have even contemplated on attacking Westeros. Because THAT'S what she has been on about from the end of S1 onwards. Dany was never about caring for others. She was all about others catering to her needs. Though not THE Others...Remember how delighted she was when her hubby pillaged, raped and robbed his neighbours once more to sell them as slaves so he could finance her invasion of Westeros. And how happy she was when she thought she'd be giving birth to the stallion who mounts the world. She was evil and mass-murderous always but it only showed after she had come into her own. I read GRRM said the Valyrians had dabbled not only in the darkest arts but also in bio engineering. Meaning that they messed with the genetics of various beings, themselves included. Actually, they managed to combine their dna with that of dragons. So the term dragonborn is not metaphorical, it's literal. And that lizzard dna will dominate and drive Dany to be her true self. And that this character was a lesson in how easily people agree to and participate in a totalitarian system if only it is nicely wrapped. And what could possibly be wrapped more nicely than Emilia Clarke as the last of her kind? So the rumours about an evil lizzard queen are true 😂🤣! Anyway, I expect Dany to go down in an ocean of flames. She isn't mad, though. She is driven by her desire to sit on the Iron Throne to rule and be worshipped like a mother goddess and by her beast system genes. To me this didn't come as a surprise. I found her conceited, violent and hypocritical. But many were shocked because they didn't expect the turn. And of course you are right: S8 is the WORST of the worst possible and so neglectfully done and rushed that it is pure garbage. I do not perceive this as canon but as badly written and executed fan fiction by two absolute blunderers although the end was written according to Martin's instructions. Whereas he had seen 13 seasons. Easily. Then again the tv series is only a fraction of what is REALLY happening in the books and could never keep up with the written words anyway. Greetings, earthling!

It's all the effort put into it by the CGI team, the FX team, the Music & Sound Effects teams, the Actors, Martin's effort into writing those great books, the Stunt performers, the Scene choreographers, HBO offering unlimited budget and wanting more than 10 seasons to tell a story properly cuz they see the potential in it.. GoT fans didn't deserve this, the actors didn't deserve this, filming technicians, special effects technicians, and those in charge of set design did not deserve this. D&D should to go a legal trial for how they killed this show by staging the worst ending that television has ever seen.

@@pplr1 Things will go wrong. And today I think more and more that things will go wrong even in the last 2 books that have yet to be published by George Martin. Hey, but if you are a fan of the Stark house (but only of the Stark house!) you can continue watching the series until the end. The ending will suck all the same, but maybe if you only care about the Starks it will suck a little less ...

@@stefanomodonesi Hopefully not but if so you warning was very good to have. I'll have to keep an ear or eye out for if Bran will be just as useless or morally compromised (evil?)

@@pplr1 Bran-evil is a theory that has been very popular with GoT/ASOIAF fans in recent years. There was a time when I believed it too, because it would have explained very well some details that the show has never explained, and that are still unclear in the books. Sadly, though, if we believe that the end of GoT is indeed what we saw (and that there will be no more sequel to this story), then this Bran-evil theory is 100% false. There is a point at the beginning of the first book where old Nan tells Bran "don't trust the crows because they are all liars", and I thought this meant that the Three-Eyed Crow is actually a villain who will take Bran's body to carry out his plan of revenge against humans by becoming their king. Unfortunately, none of this was true, and I think Bran will be king of all Westeros in the books too. I think (in the books) it will turn out that Bran has been in the minds of all those Brans who have been in charge of Winterfell over the millennia (from Bran the builder, who built the Wall, onwards). Bran will be responsible for all of Westeros' story, but he won't be portrayed as a villain, unless Martin has plans to change the ending of his story. George has always said he wanted to create a circular story, so maybe he will really end up with Bran's POV explaining everything that happened, as the first ASOIAF POV was Bran's. This fact would make ASOIAF a cyclical and fatalistic world, in which the characters are manipulated by events and where free will can do nothing against fate. This is an extremely depressing and nihilistic vision: if we surrender to a destiny already written, then it means that people are pawns in the hands of the Gods, and that none of the choices they make is really capable of altering the future, but it could really be what Martin had in mind from the start ...

Not to me. Maybe at one time but I've dug through and debunked season 8 so much that I feel more certain in being able to say we never got a season 8 to GoT as what is presented was so detached it doesn't fit. I can dislike it, but I can also say that wasn't Daenerys so I haven't seen how her story will end.

I just binged the whole 8 seasons in a week when I was sick. I'm still bitter how they ended it, one of the best series that it was through seasons 1-6. Character and plot development was so well done and thought through. Then they just completely lost the love and hurried it half way done, last two episodes were the most pain to watch.

You cry for what the series became and for what it could have been instead. One thing to help fix that is to realize season 8 is so detached from GoT it arguably doesn't as part of the story. Remember that in actual GoT bell in King's Landing do not mean surrender-season 2 shows this very clearly.

Is it just me or is the first few moments of this song merged with the Greyjoy theme? And then it goes into house Starks. So cool because it shows Dani merging with other houses and well on the path for the throne. They all fit in so well with her theme😭
