Game Pass Coming to Steam & Steam Deck??

Since I switched my desktop gaming pc to Linux (after realising how many of the roadblocks I've had the past decade with this decision, were fixed by Valve/Steam Deck), the only thing I actually miss from my windows days is the PC gamepass..if they get it to work on steam/linux, Microsoft will have me as a subscriber again.

Thats awesome glad the switch iver has worked out for ya. Imma always want my windows devices but ive come to also live steamos and hich opens the door for many to dive deeper into Linux options.

I don’t think so. I think they will announce two devices. SteamOS and Windows versions.

Windows suck so much, the only reason people who keep Windows in those handheld is for local Gamepass and GeForce Now

@@raychii7361 why would you need windows for GeforceNOW? What’s more prevalent is the need for anticheat in some games which won’t function on Linux. That’s the reason Windows has so much popularity. Whatever this new Xbox handheld looks like, I really hope they make a new OS for it that strips out all of the crap from Windows

You should know I dont do click bait here. Thats why my channel is small lol. I hate that. Tried to keep it honest and just make an interesting talk / speculation video. Those are hard to do when your just having fun and keep it “ none click baity “. Even just hearing click bait makes me cringe 😂. Cant wait for the show tho. And even tho its probably just windows related stuff for Microsoft it would he cool if they changed plans and did more with steam os and steam. I would just like gamepass ultimate to cover the Xbox games on Steam. Would save me alot of money lol.

the only thing that would make me even consider steam os is if you can use all game launchers, game pass etc

I don't think that would be the case. Microsoft doesn't like the idea of Linux gaining more market share in the desktop/gaming space because it's a direct competitor to Windows, and the Windows boot loader can even brick Linux partitions on the same drive. The Xbox app also has components of it so deeply integrated into Windows, that I don't see it running on Linux. Steam could have Xbox Game Pass as a subscription on Steam itself, but if they were going to do that, then why not just create their own "Seam Pass" and cut into Xbox/Microsoft's earnings? It's more likely that Lenovo is showcasing different handheld models featuring Windows and SteamOS respectfully. I don't think Microsoft and Valve want anything to do with each other.

Yea i agree but one can dream and have hopes lol. Id at least like gamepass ultimate or gamepass pc to include Xbox titles that are on steam. Would save me alot of money when testing 😂

You'd need to install windows unless you are in the 5% of people that have a good enough internet connection to use remote play without issues

@ no u dont all i did was follow a youtube tutorial for both and u can load it on steam os just fine I dont even have gig internet and it streams at 60fps just fine on the deck on game pass ultimate and ps plus for windows only game play the shit thru geforce now to get around the bs anticheat shit i play paladins that way cause u cant natively play it on linux

@@willbirkin666 I said that installing xbox game pass locally on steamos is not possible. Streaming is possible but you need good internet. I have a 100mbps connection and it's still not good enough to use for xcloud or geforce now

Im an OG xbox fan had it all since the original. And just like Nintendo I will probably always be a fan. Im ine of the fre that rly likes Xbox direction and play everywhere. As a dad, husband and someone who works 7 days a week I beed to be able to play in multiple ways and not be locked to one box.

I’m hoping for game pass on Steam or Steam OS Xbox app support but it’s a Lenovo event so probably the launch of the Xbox app handheld mode
