There is a problem with cynical fouls in the game. How often does a player stop a counter attack by an obvious deliberate foul, and we all say that a good yellow to take. Punishments are supposed to be suitable deterants. There should be no such thing as a good yellow to take. There is a good argument for a card in-between a yellow and a red. That said I'm not sure sin bins will work in football.

It might make the game more exciting.During the sin bin period the team with an extra man can attack more to take advantage of their extra man , and they may become reckless and opening up opportunities for counter attacks. More goals in the game is not bad.

Tactical fouls have never been a problem. No controversy comes from this. It had always stemmed from whenever VAR watches a replay like ten times and then makes the most inconsistent calls. The main reason was for clear and obvious errors. If you need to watch the replay more than 3 times, then it’s not clear and obvious. (Except for offside)

If your team is far superior on the ball but you're tiring or just fed up of having to run back to deal with opp breaks, just mouth off at the ref or take one for the team and earn yourself a 10 minute rest. You know someone like jose mourinho would find a way to use this to his team's benefit

Actually i think there shouldnt be blue cards, instead the ref should be able to send players to a penalty box for 2-5 minutes. also you should be able to have Unlimited player substitions, and the game should be played on ice instead of grass. Also, get rid of the ball and replace it with a puck and a stick. And when the season ends there should be playoffs of 7 games in quarter, semi and final. Any takers?

It's official football fans around the world. WE ARE FUCKED. The offside rule and the red and yellow card changes made sense and made the game more balanced and exciting. A blue card is just bullshit. If it aint' broke don't fix it. With VAR already being atrocious and the new rules with added time and surrounding the ref, handball, what is actually offside these days and VAR generally never intervening when they should be is bad enough. Adding a buttfucking blue card is just the icing on the cake to make everyone fall out of love of the game or start following it and play it to begin with

I’m pretry sure I remember Robbie or Laurie advocating for a sin bin! I just can’t be bothered to find the evidence. & I thought it was stupid then. IFAB have been toying with this idea for a long time. It seems they want to freshen up the game, with any idea, even if it doesn’t make sense. However I think the (IMO) overreaction is due to the suddenness & it’s evidently further along in the process than expected. The European football fanbase are still scarred from Super League Gate!

I actually think its good...sometimes players do fouls or argue while on yellow which are like soft yellows so this prevents which is quite good for a team ig...instead of a 2nd yellow on some stupid things which hinders the team on the current match and the next match

So a warning system.... one that already exists prior to a yellow. If anything they're better off using a count system basketball or baseball uses. If a blue is mean to be given after a tactical foul then how many blues can they get before getting sent off? It's a messy, ill fought out idea. If they actually want to give an actual system and accept tactical fouls into the game then make a rule for blues being for tactical foul penalty points for suspensions that aren't also in conjunction with yellows/red for sending offs.

One it's not even in the game Two its being trialled first. Three there's no guarantee it will make it into the game. I actually dont think it's a bad idea . Players faking injuries and tactical fouling, aka cheating, shouldn't be in the game. it separates actual skill from petulance. Lets give example italy vs england the foul on saka stopped a counterattack, which would have probably ended in a goal , instead it regarding as a great bit of cheating. You dont allow cheating in other sports, so why are we so happy to have it in football

The beauty of football is its simplicity. I tried watching the Super Bowl & locked off after 10mins. I cant find entertainment in something I need a doctorate to understand. Bare overgrown men ramming eachother so the ball doesnt move a yard. Then hitting the Griddy to celebrate the lack of ball movement. 😕 Pretty much 1 big advertising campaign if u ask me. Rant over! I like the idea behind the Blue Card, a yellow card for deliberately taking out a player with a cynical foul, the punishment doesnt match the foul We all say, take one for the team, that was a good booking/yellow to get etc. If that is the case, they are getting a potential reward for chopping down a player, Italy won the Euros taking out Saka. The punishment should be harsher Players rude to the officials is rubbish, thats on the players to keep their mouth shut. The only problem is that standard of refs are shit, we need better refs and they must be mic'd up. If they want to copy Rugby, they need to copy the entire system that doesnt protect refs but also gives them the authority to make the calls in the game

I don't mind the blue card at all, I think it's great, might actually allow more tackles because players won't be worrying about getting a red. AGT the blue is for contrast, imagine trying to guess if it's a yellow red or orange card from the top of the stand 😂😂😂

Football fans are just so immature sometimes. It's a trial; if the trial is a failure, it won't be implemented, but through the process, I'm sure it will help them learn how to improve what we already have. I don't understand what the rage is about. I think it is an interesting idea, and it will protect refs from abuse, which I know happens way too often. Second, players will think twice before cynically ending a counter to avoid putting their team in too much danger. In turn, it creates a more continuous game flow with fewer fouls. The yellow card is not so bad because it's not being used properly but because it's way too subjective and covers too much. The blue card only covers two things, and it would work really well because of its objectivity. Besides, who doesn't want to see a dirty team get consequences more fairly by losing a player for a bit? Also, why are you assuming it won't be entertaining because of a low block? Haven't you seen underdogs with a red card win crazy games by defending well? I see that so often. I love football, but FOOTBALL FANS QUIT BEING SO FRAGILE AND CLOSE-MINDED ABOUT EVERYTHING. NOTHING IS EVER PERFECT. Even the yellow and red cards were implemented in the 1970's WC. JUST SAYING
