I have 130 hours in Elden Ring, got all the achievements, and am on my third playthrough. This was my first souls game and the first game I've ever attempted to get all the achievements for lol.

Damn, I have almost as many hours as you (over 120) and still haven't beaten it. What can I say, I like exploring 😂 Also my first Souls game and I love it. I don't know about going for all the endings though for the platinum. That requires what, 6 playthroughs?

@@IonSquared You can technically get all of the achievements on your first playthrough. You can do all the endings at once but you need to do some finagling with your save data. I ended up doing one of the endings on my first playthrough and then getting the last two as well as finishing the rest of the achievements on my new game plus.

@@RanmaSaotome1_2 I was actually looking into that and it seems like that's only really doable on PC though? I'm on Xbox Series X. Shame because I think I have all of the endings available to me but one (Dung Eater's). A simple copy file feature would have been nice!

@@IonSquared Yea sorry I am playing on PC. That's lame that the Series doesn't have a copy file system. So I guess it would be a minimum of 3 playthroughs but even that shouldn't take too long. The new game plus playthroughs are imo much easier since your already leveled up and know what to expect from the bosses. My second playthrough I wanna say only took me about 5 hours to get to the final boss.

Hatfields journey on elden ring was my exact journey back in 2015 with bloodborne! First souls and got nowhere the 3 hours I played! Took out the disk and uninstalled! Hours went by and BB would not leave me thoughts and thankfully it was reinstalled and I was hooked

@@_natedunn This is a recorded show, not live on air. But I don't that matters either way. No one's asking for perfection. It's understandable to misspeak, say you don't know something, say nothing, or look things up if you're not sure. The issue is that he thought he was saying something correct, but expressed a tiny amount of doubt (which is at least better than if he hadn't). I don't think it's unreasonable to expect people not to claim things they aren't sure are correct. In fact, I think that's one of the minimum expectations one should have in any scenario. Throwing away criticisms like that with thing's like "nobody's perfect" and "go off internet person" doesn't help anyone. I'm sure Mark would prefer to be corrected and I would hope he'd think twice next time before saying something he's not truly sure about.

I didn't realize until CJ said it that I absolutely mirrored Zelda OOT controls in Tunic. A was interact in both. B was attack on N64 so X felt natural, and I always used Cv for projectiles so Y became my projectile button in Tunic. Shield remained RB on both and C> was always in rotation based on what I needed which is how B functioned in Tunic for me. It was just missing a C< button on an Xbox pad, but that was always my Ocarina button so it was natural to be without it anyway.

I did everything in elden ring..Did every quest, mini bosses, catacombs, tunnels, caves and graves..Got all 42 trophies and it took me 260 hours

Fantastic episode as always! Nice to hear Olli Olli World get a nod during game of the year watch. It’s definitely not going to take the top spot, but after putting in 25 hours (and more to come when the DLC drops) I can safely say that it’s one of the top 15 or so games I’ve played in the past few years. Great music, tight gameplay, and an all-around gnarly experience!

Good news for Daemon on Elden Ring: if you take your sweet time with it like I have, even the late game bosses really haven't been much of a challenge at all. I have 120 hours in the game and still haven't beaten it, and most of them have taken a few tries at most with my stats and lots I beat on the first go. Actually disappointing for me personally, but I'm just addicted to exploring the world. Not trying to make the game easier really! Now the final boss I got to some 10 or 15 hours ago without knowing it was the final boss, and I only played it three times, but I could already tell that one might actually be a challenge. Still doubt it takes me all that long. I'm level 169 now. E: I should also say there have been two exceptions that both took me 10 or so tries. The game does know how to make challenging bosses no matter what your level is, which I appreciated.

I don’t know about that. The late game has a sharp difficulty spike. The only thing that helped me was going back and getting the mimic summon.

I remember Superman Returns on Xbox 360 having a funny game engine problem. When I made superman land on the surface of water just outside the city of Metropolis to trigger a splashing animation around his feet it stayed on even when he walked into the city. Now that I think about it, looks more like a human error than a problem with the game engine, but I still appreciate how far the newer game engines have come none the less.

Once Justin plays Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and Lego Marvel Superheroes, it’s going to be HARD to play the others. The big open worlds in both were fantastic. Hated how they made Lego Batman 3 as multiple smaller hub worlds that were less interesting. I still completed it though. lol

On competing elden ring…if later bosses are causing trouble level mimic tear up, and get Shabriris Woe amulet, and decent vitality. Call mimic with the amulet equipped, then immediately swap it out for another amulet. The boss will then just go for your mimic and you can concentrate on causing damage. Especially good if you are a mage, as you can spam damage dealing spells from afar without having to worry. Using that approach I beat the final boss on first attempt, after failing 20+ times previously.

It's still ludicrous as well, but I am pretty sure superman was flying faster than light in that scene and they showed it using the earth spinning back wards that he was rewinding time.

I've been saying since release that the animation when picking up things in horizon makes the game incredibly tedious. Was very surprised they kept this in forbidden west. Great to hear this has now been removed!

Max Payne had standard FPS controls... Played great. PC version is a bit tricky to play as you need older windows... Been wanting to play this and wanting more games with similar mechanics, the physics, the jumps and lunges, loved playing that game, sometimes re-loading before certain scenes and playing them over and over, trying different tactics...

If a game's storyline reaches its logical conclusion, I do feel it'd be best the game franchise is left alone and developers could always create a new a IP to be a spiritual successor to the game, which would give them more freedom.

Both Tunic and Horizon seem like really good games, but they are absolutely fighting an uphill battle against Elden Ring. Heck, I LOVE God of War series and so do many other people, and Ragnarok is supposed to come out this year, and if it does I highly, HIGHLY doubt that even it will beat Elden Ring for game of the year. Elden Ring genuinely surprised people with how good it was - everyone thought this was just another souls-like for FromSoftware fans, and then every outlet gave it the highest score, people started playing it and now can't get enough of it. Obviously, there are people who those kinds of games just don't appeal to no matter how well they are designed, but for the most part even people who are not fans of souls games are loving Elden Ring.

Max Payne's only appeal IMO was bullet time. I played the original one EXTENSIVELY as a kid, and completed it on every difficulty level, including the one that limits your saves, but only because I simply had that game and my catalogue of games wasn't very big. I remember thinking the entire time how much more I would have liked to play Vice City instead XD I realize they likely didn't come out around the same time, but I played Max Payne when Vice City was out. I've always considered Max Payne to be a "bad" game that I liked, I didn't think it had a fan base XD

People saying it’s just an empty open world or just DS4 really are being ignorant or haven’t put much time into it. If HFW shouldn't be in the running for GOTY because it's more of that "ubisoft open world" than Elden Ring shouldn't be either since it's just another iteration of the Souls forumla they've been doing forever only with everything tossed inside an open world.

I've completed two playthroughs now of Elden Ring, one regular new game and one NG+ (or Journey 2 as Elden Ring calls it). I'm at about 190 hours. My first playthrough I fully explored the map so that one took about 120 hours. It's hard to imagine how someone could dislike this game. You always hear about how open world games hold your hand too much. "We need more player agency!" they say. Well, this game is that. It's Breath of the Wild but in a dark fantasy world rather than a colorful whimsical Zelda world. It's definitely the easiest of the Soulsborne games. Sure, there are a couple of bosses that are extremely tough but the 2 toughest are optional. As for Forbidden West, I think I enjoyed 25 of the 75 hours I put into it. The more I think about that game the more I dislike it. I actually think the first game is better.

I love Elden Ring definitely game of the year 2022. I am 300 hours in and am not stopping, got all endings, I am on my 8 journey and level 445. The only game that could come close is if God of War Ragnarok come out this year.
