Great show. Just a clarification on Batman: Arkham City. At launch, Catwoman was pre-order DLC and it allowed you to play as her in certain sections (all story related). For instance, if you had the that DLC, you first started the game as Catwoman in a short brawl before you begin the game behind bars as Bruce. And so the game shuffled them both in depending on the story. I’d say it was 80-85% Batman gameplay and 10-15% (if that) of Catwoman gameplay. Once you get out into Arkham City proper, she has things only she can do (like the reddish Riddler trophies Vs the green ones either her or Batman could get). You can play with her in most areas but you can’t progress the story solely with her. After the endgame, you’re able to freeroam around with her and just beat up thugs (and she has some endgame content after the main story wraps up). All other ports / remasters after the PS3/360 versions just included all of the Catwoman DLC, Robin post-game DLC, and all the additional map packs that were added from the PS3/360 Arkham City game.

What happened with the Silent Hill 2+3 hd remaster was that Konami had lost the final build of the game, so all they could provide to Hijinx Studios was a busted up 60% build. In a very short amount of time, Hijinx tried their best to rebuild the game by just playing the retail version. Honestly a tremendous effort but few people look into what happened.
@theredshadow4012 жыл бұрын
Small clarification about the Silent Hill HD Collection: it was developed by Hijinx Studios and not Bluepoint. Bluepoint handled MGS 2 and 3 of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in late 2011.

Kinda annoying when you're criticizing a game (Gotham Knights) based on assumptions that are inaccurate. You don't have to grind levels for every character....when you level up any character, all characters level too. The only thing you have to unlock individually is certain outfits & the glider/special traversal option.
@kiwisoup2 жыл бұрын
It's crazy that out of everyone on the podcast, nobody knew that the biggest reason the Silent Hill HD Collection was so bad in ways was because Konami themselves lost the source code and they had to work off of an incomplete build, full of bugs that the final build would have patched, placeholder assets, missing assets, etc. If it weren't for the stupid way game patches worked back then, we would have probably gotten a lot of fixes that ended up getting cancelled because the reception was so bad they basically just cut their losses at that point.

@MomirsLabTech2 жыл бұрын
Marvel Snap is mostly free to play, however you can indirectly pay to get cards. Buying gold for real world money allows for buying the blue currency, and the blue currency allows you to upgrade cards. Upgrading cards levels up your collectors level, which periodically unlocks a random card around every 2 levels or so. They are just adding an additional layer of randomization to the card acquisition model and hiding it behind upgrading cards with relatively basic visual effects. They do prevent the purchase of the blue currency to only 1 per x hours to help prevent whales from unlocking everything day 1, but people who put money jnto the game will unlock all of the cards much sooner than free to play players. The gameplay is pretty good though. Easy to grab a few games on a lunch break which usually isn't something that can be done with other card games.

I don’t know how to say this so I hope it doesn’t rub someone the wrong way FF is a franchise I know would love I grew up absolutely adoring classic RPG‘s but there’s a difference when you see a Japanese developer make a game and you see a western developer make a game. I was specifically focusing on RPG‘s here. I think FF 15 is a perfect example we had a combat system that was pretty good but where did the game originally come from it was an idea or a fantasy that the Director said this is what I always wanted to do when I was young go on a road trip with my friends and they built a Final Fantasy game around the concept of a road trip. That’s the dilemma we find directors building games around concepts of what they might find entertaining. What some audiences might find entertaining doesn’t spread out well to the overall global population. What story dynamics might’ve been entertaining to this group the Japanese developers might not be entertaining to the more westernized cultures. Once again I hope I’m not saying things incorrectly that’s not my intention but I’m pointing out how there’s a bit of a disconnect. Sometimes these JRPG‘s come off cheesy or cheeky. Have you ever wondered why every JRPG hero carries a sword yeah that’s a big question why is it every time there’s a Jay RPG hero they have to go off save the world carry a sword why hasn’t this theme been broken. I’d argue it’s part of culture. A famed culture a culture I love but it’s part of culture. meanwhile you have the western RPG pushing in brand new directions trying new things doing things differently and the second you see that the second they do that you saw the evolution of the RPG franchise. That was when you started seeing RPG elements added into other types of games. I’ll think about how long the RPG has been around and I think about how long you actually saw RPG elements being implemented and other types of games. Why didn’t they start sooner? so I argued that Square really needs to probably bring in some new talent at the top I know the people they are using now help to make the company what it is and it is a brand company but if they look to grow and compete in today’s world you’re going to have to break away from the roots a little bit just look at FF I know it has a rich story the tradition of using summons but why do we keep saying the same summoned characters. Why haven’t we seen something truly unique regarding a summons something that makes you go wow I never thought they would do that. give that same franchise to a western RPG developer they would do something totally different you would never expect. They might even get rid of summons all together.

Great Stuff! I hate grinding too! I was staring at CoD Mobile and Alex Legends Mobile last night and while they live on my machine I can feel the drudgery of the grind without even having to start a match. The more I play on the switch _just for fun_ the less appealing these mobile games become. That and the Switch has gyro support enabled for controllers, and most games use it! Games as a service works if it’s just about skins and playing the game without level grinding. Grinding is dumb. It’s as dumb as a life system. Grinding needs to go. People with disposable income have families and jobs and their kids play on consoles. These grind-y Mobile games are for no one. Make it stop.

Clarification for the Arkham games. There is no Red Hood in the Arkham universe. The Titular Arkham Knight of the 3rd and Final Rocksteady Arkham game from 2016, Is Jason Todd, the 2nd Robin, who in most DC lore, including Gotham Knights, becomes the Red Hood after being killed by the Joker and resurrected in Rhas A Ghul's Lazarus pit. In the Arkham universe, in Arkham Knight, it's found that the Joker doesn't kill Jason Todd, but instead imprisons him (though Batman thinks Jason is dead) and brain washes him to eventually go against Batman. And he becomes the Arkham Knight, who in the game wears a helmet with similarities to some versions of the Red Hood helmet.
@zacharywalker18792 жыл бұрын
Arkham Knight did have a Red Hood DLC though.
@kiwisoup2 жыл бұрын
Jason Todd becomes Red Hood after the events of the main Arkham Knight game, as shown in the Red Hood DLC. Red Hood is also referenced in other Arkham games. Also, in Gotham Knights, it is maintained that Jason Todd is now Red Hood...granted the canon of the game in relation to the Arkham games is up for debate.
