Thanks for showing the market value of the items you showcase now. As a reseller it's really helpful. I think I recall that you didn't routinely show the market price of the items you spoke about in your videos. I'm glad you changed that because the absence of it caused me to not watch your videos for the longest as I'm not a collector as you are. Now as long as you keep showing marketplace values I'm going to watch your videos regularly to learn about hot items and what they go for. Thanks!

Video games had such irregular booms, at various times, that there must be hundreds of local small gaming shops like this one, with tons of gems laying around, without anyone knowing whats going on. The important trick here is knowing and being able to recognize what has value and what doesn't, outside of the few obvious titles. Well done.. love watching content from passionate collectors, even when I know nothing about it

I used to have almost every NES, Gameboy, and SNES game released in the US, except most realistic sports games (I only like the exaggerated sports titles like NBA Jam). Kept the boxes and manuals to all the games as well. I never ripped or threw them out either. Unlike most collectors, I did play the games that I owned and beat most of them, even the tedious ones like Mario Is Missing, lol. For my really favorite games I used to buy a second copy that I would keep sealed, for reasons unknown to me. I guess I was obsessed. My closet had more games and consoles than it did clothes and my family was pissed at me for it. They told me it as a form of hoarding and I needed to stop. One day in the early 2000s I decided to sell the games and systems I was no longer using to free up space. That, and I had discovered emulation, not just on PC, but on the Dreamcast. I had (and still do) a single CD with every NES game on it that plays great on the Dreamcast. It's crazy that people are now paying small fortunes for games that I use to buy brand new really cheap. Hell, there was a used game store about 15 minutes from where I used to live where they sold used games for $5 or less. Only the super popular ones sold for more than $5, and it didn't even matter what system it was for. If I had known that those games would have skyrocketed in value, I would have kept them because in present day I would have enough to buy more than a couple of houses and vehicles. Holy crap! Damn I should have at least kept the sealed ones, they were in perfect condition! But I will say that having freed up space is nicer in the home. Nowadays I focused on building machines that can play everything as to not clutter my home again like when I was younger.

Awesome game store! I love it when you guys go exploring different game shops. Or even pick some people's houses for stuff. I love the variety. Retro Rick cost me money. I was into gaming in my 20s when the N64 was out. Played a lot of Golden Eye on that, and Doom, Duke Nukem, etc on the PC. Then life got in the way, getting married, demanding job, etc. One day a Retro Rick video appeared on my suggested videos and started watching them. Today, at 58 years old, I walked out of Target today with a Nintendo Switch OLED and Maro Kart 8. Will get back in the groove with Mario Kart, then will probably pick up one of the Zelda titles. Thanks a lot Rick, my wallet is lighter now. :)
