If you watch Josh's other videos you'll know he isn't actually cheating things in, he genuinely spends hours upon hours doing menial tasks to get resources. His commitment is insane. I think you'll like his content a lot or might gain inspiration from it.

I do believe that he spends hours doing this... the setup and work just to do a single video is insane and the time in-between each video does make sense... But I do have some ideas on how he could potentially cheat and make it faster. Again its just for the sake of the argument, I do believe he grinds it, his knowledge of the games is crazy. I'm going to watch some more of his videos and compile info on it..

always ruins these when people get stuck on thinking he cheats. he's been transparent about his process for years and years and it's all legit. just enjoy the content.

Again, I'm on the side that he does spend hours on the content... but I do have ideas on how he can speed it up... I'm going to be reviewing more of his content before coming to a conclusion.

@@ModWalker that white vacuum gun he uses in the beginning can have an attachment than also collects soil while you mine other materials, you can take that soil and convert it into basic materials ie. Clay. The thing josh spent the most time was finding the copper for the solar panels. That game is actually really easy when it comes to gathering resources, the building/converting materials take the longest.

Astroneer's Creative Mode gives you a free camera in the form of drone. It's the spherical gizmo in the left side of the backpack(because everything is physically present in this game). So you can tell when he's in Creative, since the backpack has either the drone or an extra empty slot it rests on. All the aerial shots also would have been on Creative(as well as the infinite dirt tower to the orbit at the end). It's mostly for the video shots. Never used it myself but I believe Creative lets you just spawn in items. Josh definitely does not have any infrastructure to support that amount of dynamite production here(though you do get a lot by sweeping the planet for salvage) unless he built an entire second base and progressed a fair bit, so I think this time it was Creative. Or not. He *is* crazy enough to just do it. I wouldn't know.

Only in certain times does he say it took him a long time so I think the way he puts his videos together is he doesn’t out right say it but when he doesn’t say it took a long time is he way of saying he used creative because I watch his vids and it takes him 1-3 months to make a vid so some has to be real

My thing is because the videos are so well done.. the ambiguity is there, I still believe he grinds it, but there's key scenes in his videos that cause doubt.

@@ModWalker For certain shots I imagine it's done after the fact like looking down on into the cave where he has full oxygen, Because you're not gonna think of that right there on the fly or if he did he probably died before he could get the shot and had to go back down.
