The LC 200 is good, but the facelift VXR kit make the rear signal light reversed. The X167 GLS is also a good mod, but there is a big mercedes logo bugged just on top of the car. There is also a timed event at the release of each new DLC to explore the new zone so I often buy them at day one. For reasons that I cannot explain, this game will never seem to bore me forever Apart from the possible occasional burnout of course I've been playing this game since about October 2015, & despite all the time that I've been mostly consistently playing (& building so many as roughly 5.8k hours) it's still almost just as generally relaxing as it was first starting off. Of course the main difference is these days I know a lot on how the game works. Granted that plus the fact I play with hundreds of mods on singleplayer profiles. But nonetheless, this game for me is just the perfect match you could say. It's the most played thing on my Steam profile to this day and likely always will be If you were to mix in attending large-scale events on the third-party servers for TruckersMP, if they're planned out quite well those can also prove quite fun surprisingly. Even though in my opinion most the drivers in the busy areas on their servers are, shall we say not the most behaved Someday I even have plans to try driving lorries first-hand as a job which may partially be from this game. Have gotten all the required things done to drive them so just waiting for the good chance at this point, but also. Put simply, vehicles & especially lorries like in this game (or ATS too) are a special interest of mine. When you mix in mods with DLC's the amount of customization options available can be so insanely specific. There's quite a lot on this game which in ways I can't explain never become boring, ever. The map mods, trailers, accessories, it all adds up when they're so well balanced

the main attraction point of this game is the main game loop. As you said in the video it is just driving from point A to point B with some goods on the/your trailer. But, especially with all the DLCs, the world is so huge that it never really gets boring driving through the scenery. The diversity of goods to deliver is another point - for some freight you have to change your driving according to the length of the trailer to be a bit more cautious. There are plenty of narrow roads to navigate through with care, which can be quite thrilling - and at the same time it is so relaxing to drive the highways or the autobahn. The latest additions like scenic points, hidden roads to discover and points of interest where you have to take a picture are fantastic, too. I always search on the map for these and try to plan my route to get them :D This is the game that got me buying a wheel, too. That changed the experience immensely in a positive manner. I play this game since 2014 with close to 1,000 playing hours. Sometimes I take a year off, but I always come back to discover added features with newer versions :) I wonder if the game won the "Labor of Love"-award by Steam, yet? It should!

One thing I like is that ETS2 (and the similar ATS) continue to receive updates and new content, both paid and free. If you want to expand your map, you can pay for as much or as little map expansion as you care about. As SCS has grown bigger over the years, they are now able to start releasing updated trucks with increasing frequency. I also feel like as time has gone on, SCS has only increased their standards of realism and graphics. As a non-European, I also liked being able to drive around and get a little simulated taste of what these European countries are like.

Despite not being a semi driver myself - I am a huge sucker for vehicles that can carry literally everything, and thanks to modding - you can somewhat safely use roadtrains in there, because in reality - trailers bigger than HCTs are completely forbidden in Europe, but the game does not have restrictions for that - you can just go with it and legitimately deliver cargos with no trouble if you know your paths and your vehicle.

this game did so much over the covid times like lockdown. we regularly had 50 strong convoys from our own company and we held events with up to 250-300 people from all over the world. this game has 1500 hours for me and i still play

I´ve been driving truck in real life since I was 20, never ever got into this back in the days. Now I´m almost at 40 and my buddy recommended this game to me, since I was going through hell with family stuff, this game got me through some rough weeks, it truly gives you the feeling that you´re actually unwinding and relaxing. And yes, if you play the game as intended with all the simulation you will will get close to the real experience I´ll tell you that much.

I had this on my library for years without playing. After this video I decided to play. Now I can't stop, it's very relaxing indeed. And very cool to see familiar places, different places and what kind of different trucks/loads it has. All the countries are really well done and unique. Germany has good roads without tolls where you can floor it, Latvia has narrow roads and sometimes you drive inside villages so traffic gets in your way a lot. Quite happy with it. The devs really put a lot of effort and love on the game

Thank you for your review videos!! They've helped me with decision on several different games. I do have ETS, play it quite often, and agree with your points on why it is so popular. I also loved hearing the Space Engineers opening soundtrack in the background for this video. How about a review or refuses to die video on SE? I'm sure it would qualify for either category.

I think one important aspect that deserves mention but usually doesn't get it is how SCS have vastly improved their technology over the decade and a bit since release. At release, the map was made up of a series of cities in western and central Europe that consisted of repeated assets and were connected by roads that all looked the same. Their mapping quality improves with every new extension, to include sights and landmarks that are instantly recognizable. They've even begun completely rebuilding the vanilla map to match the improvement in quality, and they're doing it for free.

I absolutely wait for the new engine. This could be one of the greatest things they ever made and I like that they take a lot of time so that they don’t mess it up.

99% of car games are about racing. Ok, I get it, competition is fun etc.... But after a long, busy day IRL it's just so much more fun to just put on your favorite music or podcast, and chill driving around Europe (condensed in a manageable scale), enjoying the landscapes, trying out new trucks and customizing them.... My absolute dream game would be a hybrid of ETS2, Test Drive Unlimited and MSFS2020, were we could explore the whole world (AI-generated from satellite maps), driving trucks as well as regular and sports cars.

ETS2 is something I played during my college days (2012 - 2016). It really is therapeutic and meditating, just hearing my favorite songs or hearing the radio stations provided in the game. I stopped playing once I bought my car recently. But I still play ets 2 once is a while.

It's one of the games that I played with crack when it launched and bought it on a steam sale just because I liked it so much and wanted to support the devs. It got better over the time and a lot of features was added and the mods just made it even better. Also, the multiplayer (truckersmp) is also splendid and playing with friends is an awesome experience (even with just the base game multiplayer). It's one of the games that makes you want to buy a steering and pedal setup just so you can drive more for hours and hours and it's really therapeutic.

This game is simply satisfying. The slow pace, passing those narrow roads, parking precisely, and growing our business are some of the things that make this game so timeless. It's the satisfaction that we get from all of those things. It's almost therapeutic. I even felt asleep in a lot of long range delivery 😂

Also, with the newer DLCs ,this applies to ATS aswell, the mapping standards became incredibly good. It basically doubles the game as a virtual sightseeing simulator

To me (bought this game 2 hours ago) it's exactly the same nieche as DCS and Assetto Corsa have for me. Fully immerse me in VR without much stress. Although seeing 2 frames of a missile before impacting in your face in DCS in VR never gets old it's really about the relaxation.

And it’s for both beginners and pros. You can play it with keyboard and turn off quite a lot of sim mechanics in the menu but you can also play with wheel and shifter and turn on every little detail to make it really feel like real truck.

Fisrt time I played this game was back In 2013. I was in college at that time. I didn't even know I could run this on my basic laptop. To my surprise, it ran very well. Growing up as a kid in India, I always liked to sit in the front seat of the bus to feel like driving the bus. And when I played this game for the first time, I was hooked. I was skipping college to play this game LOL. Most of the time, I was just running an empty cab to accelerate quicker. And not to mention the DLC to override the speed lock. Man, it was so much fun and relaxing. That ultimate POV driving view is what makes this game so good.

Also when after few hauls you stop. Look at what you done, how much mileage that dream truck of yours have now. It releases dopamine into your brain. It just feels like you actually acomplished something. Then add friends to that. Do convoys, compete who drives the most kilometers and there you have recipe for few hundered hours.

SCS are an incredibly dedicated company who actively listens to their community and adds what they ask for (usually - I'm still waiting for them to update the UK because the map is still from UK Truck Simulator released way back in 2010), constantly tweaks the engine to make it as realistic as they can, while apparently always trying to make modding as easy as they can. Just recently they've added used trucks to the game while revamping the damage model, which means it makes more sense why you can still buy trucks that ended production just after the game came out, and adds a whole new layer to the early game. I can't wait to see what the modding community does with that.

I keep getting blown away by the love of detail those guys put into the game, and also how they capture the feeling of the different countries. It's uncanny! And even old maps don't get forgotten but constantly upgraded for free, it's unbelievable! I've got European and American truck simulator and have been playing them since they first came out. Now I don't even do jobs anymore but everytime a new country gets added, I go exploring the entire map and usually by the time I'm done, the next one gets released. So the game keeps me busy just by getting updated 😂.lol
