My (game) theory is that sonic was created by the chaos emeralds themselves and that’s where all of the energy he has comes from, it also explains why sonic can use super sonic more often than other characters the emeralds call to him, it also helps explain the lack of parents or siblings in the main timeline (I know he has parents and siblings in the comics and sonic underground but those don’t count)

Well taking Sonic 2's speed into consideration, his velocity is just under 3x the velocity in free fall (aka gravity) for 3 seconds. This meaning that if you were to fall on your face onto the ground for a little less than 3 whole seconds, that would be the same as if Sonic 2 ran into a wall.

Hi Matpat! I watched your livestream and you mentioned Skip peeing around the house. I actually have a solution for that. Simply put another litterbox where he pees the most and he will pee in the box instead of the floor. Also, if he's scratching furniture, (don't declaw, it's actually VERY painful for the cat) put scratch posts nearby. Test out different scratch posts and see which one he likes best so he will use that instead of ur furniture. That is my advice to you. I know litter boxes and scratch posts aren't pretty but it will be better then having stains and holes everywhere. Plus, Skip will be happier (P.S. I love you guys)

Third option is always the fact that Sonic has some level of super durability. I mean heck, that hedgehog has survived A LOT WORSE than "stopping." Going through walls, explosions at point blanc, rammed robots... I'm not a huge sonic fan so I can only give those examples.

Looking closely at the game footage Sonic is not transferring all of that force into just his legs. He bends at the waist, putting energy into his core muscles to allow him to rapidly accelerate in the opposite direction. While most will not accept this answer, if we count the Sonic comics as canon, Dr. Robotnic fixed that problem for sonic. Dr. Robotnic created sonics shoes, at least according to the comics. Sonic was not able to run fast until given those shoes. Sonic is also directly responsible for Dr. Robotnic turning evil. Funny enough Sega never changed the shoes, meaning that Sonic is wearing the same shoes that he was given by Dr. Robotnic. Try looking at the blue blur the same way again I dare ya. Sure that might not be enough but there is ONE thing, ONE single thing that might double the amount of force. In the game, there is some levels where you can play with the rookie. In those levels you can go full-running with the rookie. BUT you can also boost, which might have enough force to break BOTH of their bones.
