I'm not here to point fingers or accuse anyone. What I'm doing today, Theorists, is going over the facts of this situation and why it is a lot more complicated than people are making it out to be.

@@Commando_scylla it’s a theory, if you didn’t know LOL. But if you changed a necessary drop to 50% drop rate. You would have a higher chance at submitting a ru whilst getting 0% of the drops than 100% of the drops, even though they have EQUAL chances of dropping. In the stream the SINGLE moderator (who is coincidently banned from the speedrun staff community) erased over 100 failed runs that dream used, which makes his drop rate the same as illuminas, 40%. BUT that mod cherry picked the targeted runs on 1.16 which came to a false conclusion of a very high chance (7.5 trillion). It’s also verified that the moderator DID cherry pick all of Dreams suspicious activities and removed all of his VERIFIED information and runs.

Those who love it play games that contain it, those who hate it play games that don't have it or where you are capable of manipulating it to a reasonable enough degree. Piglin bartering may ruin speedrunning, but so did bugfixes in other games, which is why speedrunners play on earlier versions of those games. I really don't get why people make so much drama about stuff like that...

Disappointing, but what else could he do? If he takes a side he gets jumped by the other side, and both sides are ravenous now. I suppose he could have just not done the video at all, but Matpat actually makes a great point here: Maybe 1.16 speedruns as a whole need to be thrown out. Don't get me (or Matpat) wrong, RNG can be really fun, and test the skill and adaptation abilities of the speedrunner. However, not all RNG does that; and a good example of the bad RNG is piglin bartering. No amount of skill or adaptation is going to help you if you're just not lucky. Since the bad RNG is so instrumental in the speedrun, that calls the validity of those speedruns into question. After all, speedruns are supposed to be a display of skill and mastery, not someone getting really lucky. So things like throwing out all the runs and putting in a "no piglin bartering" rule would be a more accurate reflection of mastery.

When you are trying to answer a question you need an answer, not an another question. 2) Well, if he doesn't have to do that, why did he put this title on the video? More than that, this analysis is flawed by itself. I'll just point out the thing that made the least sense. He did say that mods that reviewed Dream's runs were nitpicking on the data they chose, without considering other factors like its a bad thing. This is just ridiculous thing to say after he said himself that mods were collecting data from more than 20 hours of streaming, and the data they collected should be matching the actual drop rates more than it actually is. You can't just ignore his luck, that seems to be almost 4 times higher at times. This discrepancy was noted and investigated, as it is the data that caused doubts in the first place. If you see a man walking on the street just stealing a wallet from other guy, you dont need to know his his relatives, friends and sad edgy backstory that led him to stealing said wallet. You saw an action, you caught him, thats it.

All the Speedrunning Team did was decide that the luck displayed in Dreams Speedruns are over the threshold they find "acceptable", which is why they are labeling that he cheated. But they themselves don't actually know, and we will never know because Dream will, most likely, never say that he cheated and so we're at a stalemate and you either "play the game" and pick a side to believe or you just put the whole thing away and acknowledge that nobody can actually tell and they the status quo is simply "The Team decided he cheated" and that's it.
