It feels like he doesn’t have to pretend in front of his friends anymore so instead of using his previous kawaii feminine way of speaking, he used his original voice, a rather delicate and fragile, yet soft and gentle shonen voice to sing the song. His struggles still remain, yet he chose to believe in niigo and be with them by being his true self. @rainycos i know what you mean. But from start to finish, Mizuki dresses feminine because Mizuki likes and wants to be cute. "Wanting to be cute" and "Wanting to be a girl" are two separate things. Mizuki was never a trans. And if you have noticed, Mizuki calls himself as "boku" in Japanese, which is commonly used by males, especially young boys. Therefore Mizuki never sees himself as a girl, but a boy who likes cute things, if you understand what I mean.

not going against your reasoning, but I just want to mention that ‘僕/boku’ can be used by any gender, it’s just seen as more masculine. One of my japanese friends uses boku, though she is female. It’s not very common but it can give off a kind of ‘cool’ vibe when used. It’s mostly the person’s choice but yeah 👍 don’t worry i get what you’re saying though

@stickii_B Ah yes, I know girls can use “boku” too, it’s just that when you put it into Mizuki’s case, it doesn’t make sense why Mizuki would use “boku” to show masculinity when he wants to be cute. Let’s say Mizuki wants to be a “girl”, why doesn’t he use “watashi” then? “Watashi” is commonly used by females when referring to themselves. Of course, “watashi” can also be used by men, but mostly only in formal situations. So i tend to interpret as Mizuki expressing his male identity I know there is controversy about Mizuki’s gender and I understand the reason behind it, still I want to express my views on why I called Mizuki as a ‘he’ and not a ‘they’ in my first comment I have no intentions of starting an argument so I appreciate your understanding very much🥰🥰
