Great video! 11:33 is a fantastic point that needed to be said. Tiger's philosophy was "how can we make this game fit on an LCD screen?" but Nintendo's was "what fun games can we make with this LCD screen?" They let the hardware drive their creativity instead of hamper it. It's especially noticeable just looking at the characters: mostly black with some clear details, specifically designed for visibility in the medium. I'm a long time G&W fan and main of Mr. Game & Watch, and I hope this video helps people see him as more than "the funny beep boop paper man" Also, the 40th anniversary of the Japanese release of Ball is in just 2 days. Coincidence???

I think the comparison Scott makes to old 20s and 30s cartoons can't be understated enough, because that's exactly what I think of when I think of Game and Watch. They look straight out of old Fleischer Bros. cartoons, or like old Felix the Cat cartoons. Richard Brown Yeah, I had the Big the Cat one, but I never ended up changing the batteries. So, after I found that little thing many years later, the screen didn’t do anything and the sound resembled something you’d find with a creepypasta. Good game tho.

There is something pretty charming about this style, I have to agree. Kingdom Hearts III had LCD themed mini games you could unlock called “Classic Kingdom.” I didn’t really enjoy them, but watching this did help me appreciate them a bit more. Especially knowing now that Nintendo made Disney Game & Watch games.

I actually ordered a game and watch amiibo today and saw this in my recommended. I love the series and characters, me and my friends are in the "fanbase" and they're super nice. I think vermin is my all time favorite, but I love greenhouse and oil panic alot. Hes also very fun in smash bros. Rlly hope nintendo will do something new with them not smash related.
