Despite the blatantly false advertising I feel like the story almost worked. Naboo is really where things fall apart for me. We see Iden just starting the part of her arc where she's questioning things. Then we have a space mission with no real character moments for her, followed by a mission where we play as Leia for no reason while she's offscreen for literally all of it, with the mission ending with her seemingly already completed her character arc with the only thing left being to finish off the Empire. Honestly, as much as I enjoyed the one with Luke I think the campaign would have been a whole lot better without the Hero missions.

So even if they only played two hours at a time, my logic still holds. So what's your point? The game is short, just like call of duty has become. The game is mostly focused on online play, just like every other shooter game has become. And it's not worth spending money on, just like call of duty, or any other shooter has become. In fact the last great shooter game that was worth spending sixty dollars on was ghost recon wildlands.

Then there's Iden's turn: To be fair,I'm sure for many in the Empire that Operation:Cinder was a bridge too far and the moment where the Empire jumped the shark. I'm sure many defected from the Empire following it. For those crapping on Iden's turn,the main plot of the 1st Rogue Squadron game had an Imperial officer who defected to the Rebellion after her home planet of Alderaan was destroyed. So her turn isn't without precedent.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but Operation Cinder is pretty much the ONE justification I'll actually use for them bringing Palpatine back. I mean, what other reason (okay, what other sane reason) could there have been for him to order his own empire to self-destruct, unless he had an actual plan in place? He's evil, and spiteful, but not stupid. Sure they "failed to protect him," or whatever, but I'm sure that having them maintain order until a new Sith shows up to run things would be a sight better for his goals than *letting his enemies win.* It's just a shame then that it was something they tacked on at the last minute out of desperation.

In terms of gameplay, the campaign was honestly pretty fun, even if it was kind of just a simplified version of the multiplayer. In terms of story, it was kinda bad. It would’ve been a lot more interesting if she didn’t defect and it ended with her dying for the empire at the Battle of Jakku, or at least if she defected later on in the story with more buildup, not at the very beginning. But no, she switches sides almost instantly because Disney/EA are too scared to have the guys who are normally villains be the protagonists

I saw a comment a while ago that said it should’ve been a bunch of bad stuff the Empire did that made Iden slowly lose loyalty, with Operation Cinder being the final straw that causes her to defect. It feels quite jarring that one minute she’s completely loyal, but once she sees Operation Cinder, she instantly switches sides

@@busterb2958 let's see. The empire built two super weapons to destroy planets. Used biological warfare if you've read the books. Reduced an entire planet to stone age technology just because the rebellion had a base there once. Supports slavery and is a dictatorship. Exactly how many atrocities does it take for someone to finally decide to change sides? Because I'm sure that the characters are aware of most of those things. If anything they should have changed sides a hell of a lot sooner than they did.

I bought it for 80% off and find the game quite fun, but it's definitely more for the multi-player game modes. The campaign is sort of fun, but nothing special and it's kinda short. The online modes are really fun though and there is tons of different game modes to play. So if you like the online aspect it's definitely worth it. If you're in it only for the campaign, it's kinda meh especially for the original price. But for $8 it's not bad and gives you a decent amount of fun.
