Saying "Po" and "opo" does not necessarily mean a person is polite. Likewise, a person who doesn't use those words unpolite.

girbaud07 Probably if you’re speaking on a second language because po and opo has no english equivalent but a well cultured filipino who were raised by good parents, they were taught to show respect in myriad of ways and one of which is the use of “po” and “opo”, especially if they know they are talking to older persons. This is what a lot of youngsters are lacking in this day and age. It does make you impolite when you open your mouth in Filipino and you are addressing an older person and again, this is a culture.
