that's how I was first exposed to him. It was the episode Matt Mercer was on and they went through a combat round and he had to point out all the mistakes in the round and he found one that Brennan didn't even intentionally put in.

@@MauiWowieOwie if I remember correctly it wasn't a mistake, but he hedged for it. Pit Fiends have resistance to non magical non silver melee damage, Matt said something that was approximately "I'm not sure but I believe that they have resistance to non magical slashing damage." He was right but it wasn't a mistake.

I believe mike initially “hired” Brennan as the fact writer for Um actually so mike is one of the main reasons brennan gets to do so much that he loves like D20 and game changer.

I love that Brennan's abject disappointment by the end of the game came with the realization that he was a mere pawn. There was never any hope of winning for him, only theater.

I think it was because he was disappointed that Trapp didn't win. If he didn't win, fine, the game was rigged from the start, he is used to that. But having the game stolen from his best friend Trapp, devastating.

Nah, he was impressed with Sam at the second bingo dimension, and looked kinda proud. His face when Sam dropped the third layer, was completely confused, lost and broken. Because at that moment he realized he was trapped in a universe ruled by a true trickster chaos god.

I think you mean dropout not dimension 20, but yeah! Mike trapp, Sam Reich, Brennan, Grant, Rehka, Siobhan, and many others were all responsible for keeping it alive. They all worked very hard and are naturally very talented and good people.

While true, I think it's telling that the only cast member that Sam didn't fire was Brennan himself (if I recall correctly). Everyone else went to "We'll give you work if we can afford it". Brennan was the backbone. It's a business and Sam had a financial incentive to make the most accurate call there. But Brennan wouldn't be there if not for Trapp, so Trapp ABSOLUTELY saved that company.

Brennan is the ultimate "Um, Actually" participant, and shares Trapp's "anything for a point" mentality on Game Changer. Yeah, they're nemeses. But they also adore each other, like all good rivals.

Fun fact, Brennan wasn’t supposed to be in this episode. Grant tested positive for Covid the morning of the shoot, so they had an hour to put together a new bingo card for Brennan. The stamp still had Grant’s face on it

Bloodkeep has some of my all time fav parts. Like Avanash and his bones, which always makes me laugh out loud. It's hard to fully rank the different series because they're so different and each brings wonderful things, but if I had to rank them I would say Trapp is in two of my favourites - Bloodkeep and Mentopolis

I'm guessing they used Canva for this episode specifically because it allowed them to edit slides while presenting. Google Slides (which I think from BTS is what they usually use) loads the whole presentation when you hit present, so you're not able to edit on the fly.

I was raised in a toxic environment where friends constantly and reflexively put one another down, but I have learned that life is *so much better and happier* if you treat your friends with the love and respect they truly deserve. I started off with D20, so when I began to watch more dropout shows I had no particular feelings about Mike Trapp. I'd previously seen him in a handful of clips and maybe an episode of Gamechanger. And with every episode of Um Actually, Mentopolis, and Gamechanger featuring him, I have developed such a fondness?? This was the nail in the coffin, he seems like a really fun and interesting person and I hope I get to see plenty more of his projects!

I like it when they do these "what do you like best about [Insert coworker here]." It might not be the immediate intention, but it's nice to be reminded every now and then that people like you for the most mundane reasons. Because you're you. Some people need that reminder.
