A fake punt on the 1st drive and then brought the backup QB in to fumble right away. Those 2 decisions purely on the coaches basically ended that game. The play calling on offense was terrible. Dow is far too arrogant to the point of being a jerk, and then has a terrible feel for play calling. Big changes are needed now, before we get further along.

Fake punt was a horrid call but that and the fumble certainly didn't end the game as we weren't even halfway thru 1st quarter at that point..Sellers cannot throw at all, he had 40 yrs at the half, he misses wide open receivers and throws into coverage constantly along with taking sacks with plenty time to run or throw the ball away..gonna be a rough season

Give Shane a break. He is trying hard, and he is still in the learning phase of being a head coach. We need to look and compare Shane to Dabo; and Dabo went through around 5 years of learning and then he started winning national championships. I hope the new AD we hire gives Shane the same chance Clemson gave Dabo; because firing a coach on average every 6 years looks horrible on our University.

I don’t want to throw the towel in on Shane because he has a strong defense, and a young offense that’s got more talent coming in by way of the recruiting class and portal. I think if Shane had at least a B average OC, we’d be okay. Clayton and his defense are doing their jobs. For the life of me, I don’t know why we can’t get the offense coordinator quagmire sorted.

Last season SC was 5-7. This season SC will be 3-9 or 4-8. Wofford has a good chance of beating Beamer. Sellers is either overrated or not been developed properly to play in the SEC. The O-line still sucks after 4 years and the running game is still in the basement. Beamer is not the guy. He doesn't have a clue. Sellers will transfer (which he should) as well as Stewart and the other playmakers. SC will never be relevant until the BOT puts the same emphasis on football as they do woman's basketball. We got out coached again. Lack of wide receiver depth is hurting us and everyone was talking about it preseason they can’t get open which impacts the QB play. Sellers has to force throws. 6-6 is still achievable, just don’t repeat the same mistakes.

The game was over when Beamer tried the fake punt and put the defense on their heels from the start. Then he got cute and pulled Sellers to put the “package” in for Ashford and he fumbled, screwing the defense again. Both those plays were turned into TDs and the route was on. Defense lost their mojo and offense never got in gear. The momentum was all ole miss, the fans were stunned and WillyB was quiet. The play calling was terrible too. No rollouts with a dual threat QB( just drop straight back every time), no run game, very few chunk passing plays. very predictable offense. Is a QB coach working with Sellers to try to fix his accuracy issues? Dowell may not be the answer as OC. The penalties are a reflection of the coaching.

What was the thought process behind running the ball up the gut constantly knowing that it hadn't worked well the entire game??? It's been a long time since I've seen our team make on the spot corrections when it comes to things not working. Making those decisions immediately is so crucial. When we came out from the halftime break, IDK what adjustments were made but things started wo work. The short passes were completed even though we got very close to the goal line quite a few times and didn't capitalize, to include just before missing a field goal. There is just many things that need to be fixed. Too many to call out. My thing with Beamer, YES! He's a great guy. Keeping the culture, trying to make the this place safe for players to be able to make mistakes and learn from them is a good deal, but at what cost? You have senseless penalties like the taunting the one that cost us the ball when Dylan Stewart taunted their QB. WHY?? I get he's a freshman, I get he was fired up because it would have been our only sack if I'm not mistaken. He should not have been able to come back on the field after that, not to mention we were down 3-27 at that point. When do you draw the line? Clapping after bad plays and poor discipline is getting old. We need coaches that are more stern so that the players need to know how serious this is.

People was terrified of Tebow he was a steamboat. People was terrified of Cam Newton because he was hard to bring down. Play to your strengths. Arkansas always had a good rushing attack. When do we start asking ourselves this: Will South Carolina EVER be more than mediocre under Shane Beamer? There have been so many coaching mistakes year after year, if the coaches are making mistakes, then you know the players are going to be a disaster. SHANE BEAMER squandered every ounce of momentum out of that stadium within the first ten mins of the game with his cutesy plays. His Dad was at Virginia Tech for THIRTY SEASONS and never won more than an ACC championship… I don’t want that kind of mediocrity to be the standard here in Columbia..
