Amazing job as always! I don't think I'm ever going to outgrow this series. Since you only quickly review words that've been seen before and spend your time on the new words, it's going to always feel useful. I'm a fan of turn-based personally, but still hyped for this game just due to the setting and style!

Thanks for your great video! Great explanation, but more importantly, enthusiasm. Haven't seen someone teach with this much enthusiasm for the longest of time. Final Fantasy is such a good game to learn language.. I got serious in english because I wanted to play FF8 without holding a dictionary, and I certainly didn't expect to learn JP through this game as well. 1:01:00 From Hugo to cock, I think there's something missing in between.

Thanks a lot for that video ! I have a question, when you do encounter unknown words while you play, do you focus on the game experience and go on as long as it’s not blocking your progress, or do you check it in the dictionary ? I’m playing Zelda TOTK in Japanese now and I didn’t expect so many unknown and specialized words (about ruins, mythology and all). 色々教えてくれてありがとうございました😊

Thanks for this great rundown, just finished it. But I'm a bit confused when you showed the grammar table at the start, it had 53 non JLPT points on it? I know people count grammar in many ways but the most I have seen was on nihongokyoshi with 8 non JLPT grammer points. I would really like to see where you got the grammar list from.
@GameGengo Жыл бұрын
Thanks for enjoying the video! There is no non JLPT grammar list. These are just pieces of grammar from this one video that arent in the JLPT. There is a lot of grammar outside the JLPT actually. Much more than the list youre mentioning. If you want to find JP resources showing this just simply search for 'jlptにない文型' and youll see there is much more than the list you mentioned :)

Problem about FFXVI is that theres no other humanoid alien like characters (vieira ff12; black mage ff9; quina ff9 like; guado ff10 etc.) and supermagick or medieval marvelous cities (ff9 Alexandria; archades ff12; zanarkand ff10; besaid and luca ff10; ff8 that big futuristic city and that futuristic schools). The absence of this elements made ff16 less "fantasy" and a little bit not so good as it could. Also, the fact that you can't control other characters. But Final Fantasy VII rebirth really seems like a main and awesome title. By the way, ゲーム言語は一番の日本語先生。

Though the Japanese VA is supposed to be original, the presentation is too conservative compared with the English localization. For example, Benedikta in Japanese just called Kupta's name when stepping out of the door. This is far from exciting than outspoken "You cock" in English.

Never consume Japanese content in English. Almost every translator gets things wrong by leaving crucial things out. Especially styles of speaking
@Kanji101 Жыл бұрын
He isn't consuming it in English, the game is set to Japanese Audio and Subs.
@AmadeusNarrates Жыл бұрын
For FF16 it's a bit of a different situation actually, since the Japanese script is adapted from the English one. As far as I understand this is how it went: Japanese Script > English Translation > Japanese Translation again from English. This is reinforced even more by the fact that the lip sync is for English only.
@GameGengo Жыл бұрын
Its a tough job being a translator! You certainly want accuracy while also natural sounding conversation. Ive learnt that a lot through this channel what literal translations can end up like. I do prefer when translations stick to accuracy though for sure
