When Danny and Arin make jokes (which is rare), the're constantly stumbling on words and the joke usually isn't funny to begin with. Fact of the matter is, there will only ever be one "not so grump", and the fact that there are so many shows on game grumps along with grumps themselves is a fucking clusterfuck. jhon smith Jon left Game Grumps because Game Grumps was becoming more of a production show rather than a side-project where two friends mess around with games. He's said he preferred working on Jontron episodes because he felt his performance was better on that type of show rather than a two episode per day kind of show. Arin supposedly wanted to expand the show with things like Steam Train, Livestreams and Steam Rolled to monetize on the channel. Jon disagreed and left. They are (despite rumors) still good friends, but can't discuss the departure for legal reasons (they signed NDAs).

+Coffee Sucks Arin and Dan clearly don't have the same relationship with each other that Jon and Arin do. Jon is much more outspoken and argumentative then Dan typically is. I watch Game Grumps pretty regularly and have since they started. Arin doesn't seem the overall different. But, I don't read to much into things like that. I don't have a preference of which pairing I like more, I really enjoy both. I love the outrageous moments with Jon just as much as I love the laid back stories and silliness with Dan. This is just my opinion of course. I can see where your coming from and I do understand why some my like Jon more or Dan more. Everyone has their tastes. My problem is that when John was replaced with Dan, it slowly but surely became a channel devoted to a far different audience. I knew about gamegrumps because of Jontron, i still remember the first time i saw the first episode. I dont even knew who was egoraptor but with the time, he won a piece of my heart too. Then Barry came up, he was like that god-like presence, you hear so much about it but you can never see him. It was a happy family *sniif* *sniff*, but Jon had to move on... I was devastated, and then Arin was saying that Danny was gonna be the replacement, it was so fast. I was salty about it, i understand that jon WANTED to move on, but Arin continued the show immediately after jon departure. After a few months, i give Dan a chance and started to watch game grumps again, but it didn't feel so great like Jon era. Now, theyre so many people, and its not even so funny in my opinion. Disclaimer: I dont hate anyone in the grumps, its just that i dont like the new program.

I found Game Grumps about a month ago-ish. I came being pretty into JonTron. Dan Era) Dan and Arin are perfectly fine on their own, honestly. The more I watch, the more I like Dan. Arin is Ok. Jon Era) Arin was definitely better to listen to and more lively etc. To be fair though 3 years of GG will change a person. Even if the job is awesome. Being a new fan of JonTron finding his GG material is like a dream come true as he's so awesome. He's really like his best self. They're so happy in the Jon Era. Out of both, I prefer the Jon Era overall as its more lively and fun. Like, with Dan and Arin, even what they talk about isn't too interesting. :) - A (new GG fan) review

I love Jon, he felt more real. Y'know, they fought sometimes, but me and my friends fight all the time, so I thought it was cool. Danny's too chill for me, y'know? Arin's a pretty mellow guy to listen to, and Jon was pretty loud to compliment him. Arin and Dan are just so nice, it's too friendly. Dunno, maybe I'm weird. I don't dislike Dan, just prefer Jon a bit more.

I don't think Game Grumps will ever be as good as it was with Jon and Arin at the helm. I felt that even when Jon and Arin didn't agree or whatever this always made them stronger, because their chemistry seemed so natural. For example, when they disagreed about Fox and Wolf in the Smash episodes. They were always willing to get mad at each other and make super real jokes. I felt that even when you could tell they were annoyed with each other or whatnot (towards the end of Sonic 06 especially) it just always worked because there were no facades. It feels like with Danny and Arin though they try to be more polite, and as a result it feels less real. It feels more like theatrics rather than two friends just sitting down and playing games, letting us observe their very real conversations.

I miss the Jon era, these two helped me through sooo much. I was depressed and as a result developed agoraphobia. These two helped me through the sadness by making me laugh. I can never thank these to enough. I love Danny but Jon and Arin had much more memorable moments. Their friendship is still unparalleled in the "Let's Play" community.

Speaking as someone who did not watch Game Grumps regularly and still does not, I do like GameGrumps with Jon more. I'm glad they expanded the Grumps team but this era is much more memorable and enjoyable for one reason or another.

Honestly I did love the Jon era but I felt at times he was just being a dick for the sake of being a dick. Which can be funny and some of my favorite play through are in this era like Goof Troop, Mario Party and Kirby but the comedy styles of Jon and Arin in my opinion became too different over time and Danny felt natural to mesh with Arin. Though I'm waiting for the time when Arin or Danny drop out (more so if Danny leaves) and someone new comes in only to see all of the Jon fans become the Danny fans and in almost every video say they miss him. In the end it's all about friends gaming together no matter who the duo is its for us the fans to enjoy, laugh and have memories for compilations to be made. If anything doesn't make sense I blame my job and the fact I'm using my phone.

I don't know, what I liked about Jon was that because they were so different it led to some very funny moments (like the sonic 06 knuckles wall freak-out). Danny and Arin seem a little *too* similar and they never have the ridiculous banter Jon and Arin had. I feel that the show can be funny still so I'm not saying it's shit, I'm just saying I prefer the old Grump'n over the newer grump's. However, I do want more Ross and Arin let's plays because those two are hilarious together (that dating sim game they did is a good example) and Ross should have been not so Grump.

That's fair, but I got into GameGrumps through JonTron's channel. I knew about a guy named EgoRaptor who made shorts. I didn't know his channel, I didn't know his name... I just knew that was a guy. I had only just got into JonTron when I saw a video advertising his new gaming channel with Arin. That's why I watched it, I liked their chemistry, at the end of the day yeah it's two guys gaming and that's fine but if you prefer one chemistry over the other then you will tend to keep to that group. I tried Danny and Arin and I see the appeal, but it hasn't really sat with me. But I don't think it's fair to not call them Game Grumps because it's not Jon anymore. That being said, Instead of bitching about who is better, I just watch my old playthroughs with Jon and enjoy myself. I just miss the daily Jon and Arin.

Becoming a fan of Game Grumps only a short period of time after Danny was introduced, I often go back to compilations like these to understand why people always comment that "JonTron was so much better." Every time I do I am fairly disappointed. Sure, it is very entertaining to watch this older era, but the Danny-Arin duo has brought me to tears of laughter far too many times for me to count, making the humor of these videos fall short by comparison. I don't know if it is the sentimentality of JonTron that is so illustrious for the Grump fan base, and if that too applies to me, making me more attached to Danny than Jon since he is the first I had seen, or if there are actually viable videos that I have just been entirely oblivious to.

+Kenz :) I mean, when you watch individual moments of danny they aren't gonna have the same impact either. Watching compilations like this doesn't really do the show justice. You lose some of the context, and sometimes pacing where a joke is funny because of the moments leading up to the joke. Not to mention, in game grumps it's usually mundane with a few good moments anyway, so if you don't like the same moments then it's not going to be funny. Plus, there are other reasons why people prefer Jon. Personally, I liked Jon more because he and Arin were far more likely to disagree, or call each other out on bullshit. With Danny, while he has a different style of humor, he and Arin tend to just agree on everything, and come off as very inoffensive. Jon was also more into games than Danny, so the two would switch up who was playing far more often, and they'd sarcastically berate each other for sucking. I preferred the Dynamic.
