I’m really glad this video mentioned Moira because a lot of the commentary you see about her is wrong. While her kit lacks a unique thing that provides a buff to her team, she brings to the table insane numbers in both healing and damage and can act very consistently and safely

@@sucklambschop3124 the thing about Moira is that she’s good in lower ranks but once you get out of gold, she really isn’t enough. Maybe in a brawl comp but she gets outclassed at higher tiers. That being said, she is very fun

In general I find the most success on support with Moira. At the level I play at, damage can be inconsistent and she brings in that consistency. I think her real utility is simply in her presence though. The enemy team has to pay attention to her or get sucked even if she can just get away for free. I see people struggle with her when they're only ever standing behind their team or only diving to deal damage. She really shines when you're throwing out heal orbs and disrupting the enemy at the same time. Using Moira to counter a Widow can work out nicely for your team if your dps isn't trying to stop her (or can't). Besides, you can't heal someone who was just one shot anyways.

The ones that really made a difference for me are: Hold onto your cooldowns & ultimate a little. Know what circumstances will get a big impact and what tends to win or lose a team fight, and focus on your timing. Use as few resources as you need to win the fight. one-tricks are mostly a bad idea. A main is fine, but a baseline knowledge of popular counter-picks (kiriko against Ana or j-Queen, Winston against snipers or mercy, etc) can win a game even if you’re not that good on the hero. RUN AWAY. If you’ve lost a fight, if you’re stuck in a pointless duel, if you’re risking death to secure one more kill, stop it. Let them get away. It is more important to winning the game that you survive.

I am not really sure I agree with that. Imo a flank DPS is extremely useful for squishing the enemy team between the tank and yourself. So, the flanker should pay to attention to when the tank starts trying to push the enemy team, cause that's when they use their cooldowns and get hyperfocused on the tank, leaving their backs wide open. Master tank btw, just to give credibility to what I am saying

I feel like the last rule for support doesn’t mean as much, emphasis on “as much”, for Lucio. I have begun calling Lucio the second tank because I’ve been able to stay on the cart in overtime on defense after my entire team had died and survived until they all came back. This has happened a lot of times, enough to where even a comp friend of mine has mentioned that my Lucio is a good tank, because if the enemy can’t hit you, that’s technically taking aggro from your team

As a ball main, I have a habit to spam countdown voiceline and proceed to do whatever I need to do to enemy team after the countdown ends. I didn't particularly told my team of what to do, but after two or three countdown spams, my team will always understand and proceed as expected.

I feel that the tank role is just overpowered in Overwatch 2. You can do a lot more damage than dps and die a lot less. They are usually the deciding factor between losing or winning the game. Dps became a respawn simulator, which is boring to be honest. A lot of times I am able to kill the others, I still die and lose fights only because the tanks can stop your damage and kill you at the same time. Sigma, Zarya, DVA, Doom, Ball are usually the tanks I have most trouble with. The mechanical skill to take down these tanks and also deal with a tracer and genji in your backline is insane. You have to get multiple headshots in a row otherwise they just dont die.

How about "know your goal" as each support. Too many times i've seen mercy locked prior to anyone selecting a hero that benefits from having a mercy/pocket, then halfway through the match its "not mercys fault she has the most healing, shes doing her job", People don't realize if the end goal is do the most healing mercy is not cutout for that position and if you play her to "get top healing in the lobby" you're inadvertently making the job you think you were assigned harder based on hero selection.

@@Gr0ot it's flawed logic because there are other supports that simply do more healing than mercy, so if you justification for picking her is "I did the most healing" and your defending your choice based on that, you should have chosen a support that has an easier time pumping out as much healing as possible (moria/Baptiste). Think about it this way, I could use a Corvette to plow snow, it would technically work, I could say "the parking lot is plowed, therefore it was a good idea to use a terrible vehicle for snow plowing as a snow plow". What I'm saying is if you know your end goal is to plow snow don't pick a Corvette, pick a vehicle that is designed to do it with ease. Same concept in my original post, if you hold down healing with mercy all game you may get the most healing on the team or even in the match, but in pure "healing per 10min" stats other healers do more healing per a certain allotment of time, so to then justify your hero choice based on a fact that you made the job more complicated and quite frankly at the expense of your team is comical and flawed logic.

Mercy is a great support, her dmg boost is super useful if you have a competent dps player and her rez can be super impactful. But her healing is absolutely not the best out of everyone. Yeah. I use Winston. I jump the back line. Do what i can until my Jump Jet cool down is back up then i junp back to my back line and heal up. And pretty much do this. Also catching players that are isolated, out of place, or playing aggressively. Or i create space. I can push the enemy back. By jumping to my front line and dropping a bubble for my team to use to push when needed. Or jump the enemy back line to create chaos or confusion. I just started playing with Baptise. Im trying to put in my muscle memory is a shoot, shoot, heal. Use immortality orb only when my team is about to die. This one is about timing. Bc its cool down is so long.

Here is my tip for zen from a grandmaster, positioning up time duelling exemplar positional discipline is the most important skill you can have know where you should be where your team and how you are rotating. up time this is the easiest one to get better at super boost to rank if your platinum support player and you want to get to master for basically free, just focus on this. (Reply if you want me to explain it uptime further) and in duelling is just practice, knowing when you can, five orb that widow and make it harder for tracers and other flankers to kill you

Another tip is to know when you should regroup. When you respawn, wait for the rest of your team if everyone has just died. Unless the point is crucial, you will get a second chance. You aren't going to do anything running it against all 5 enemy players 90% of the time. Best to just attack all at once

Mercy is the lowest damage hero in the game because the damage amped isn’t shown on the public metrics. That being said, she shouldn’t be at 0. Or maybe you can construct permanent barriers. Some kind of servitor maybe like a pet class? Wall hacks like hanzo/widow? I think there are ways a hero can support and not be a traditional healer. You'd probably still want to bring someone like bap that can heal. I think it would be healthy for the game to teach players that they cannot and should not rely on heals to make up for bad positioning.

​@@Atsuru there's a lot of difference between bf and ow, they're 2 different genres with 2 very different play styles. As it is, overwatch used to have four roles that split DPS into attackers and defenders, defenders would've fit like your engineer's example. I like the theory of having a support that doesn't heal but in practice I doubt it'd work well. It's not on the game to teach people that their bad positioning is what's losing them games.
