Today's Patron-sponsored video, for GameMaker Studio 2, is the first of two videos in how to create JRPG-style cutscenes. The entire system is designed with large-scale projects in mind, and once you've seen both parts, you will be able to scale up from 2-3 sequences to as many as you like.
In this episode I'll talk about how and why I made the cutscene the way that I did, and then we do a little coding to make overriding objects work.

I have a question, would this work with a a dialogue system that supports multiple branches and faceset?, if not I'll figure it out

It certainly will but the solution depends on how you handle your dialogue at the moment. I'm working on a game for someone that also has branching dialogue. Each NPC has an array of dialogue entries, and so to use the code from this tutorial, I'd use broadcast messages to tell the game which array of text to use instead of just a string of dialogue. I don't think using sequences for cutscenes is the best fit for every game, however.

Thw tutorials Id like the most to see from you, are Diablo-like Rpg and RTS. I think RTS is one of the most challenging genres to do in GM

You may be right! I haven't had much experience with RTS games. Flocking behaviour is something I don't know how to do either.

Is there a way I can bring a room in to the sequence? I already made my map in there and I'm not quite sure if I can export it in.
