Ikr? I mean, people hate her because she is not a skilled assasin like Arya, or brutal like Cersei, but the truth is, Sansa has survived in situations in which Arya wouldn't have lasted five minutes. You know why? Because had Joffrey tortured Arya the way he did Sansa, Arya would have done something foolish, like arguing or fighting or raising a hand, even though in this hypothetical scenerio she wouldn't be a skilled fighter yet (as she would still be in the South, and Syrio is dead and she would not meet the faceless men). This would lead her to her death.

People can shit on Sansa all they want but she had one of the best character developments on the show. The other being Jaime. Yes she was annoying in the beginning, but that shows how naive and innocent she was. She learned from the best(Cersei), and that may help her in the long run.
@adrien42695 жыл бұрын
She didn't learn the best from Cersei. She learnt the best from King's Landing and Littlefinger. When you see how Cersei treated Tyrion through the show, how she molded her son to be a tyrant, leading him to his own death, you can see that she didn't make the best decisions. Myrcella died because she accused her brother for a crime he didn't commit. Tommen died because she killed his loved one. If Sansa despised Jon the way Cersei did to Tyrion, it would have tear apparts the leftovers of her family like Cersei did to her (because Jon was the reason her parents were ever in bad terms and at the same time, the reason his father dishonored her mother. But she never acted like that on him. Thanksfully)
@May04bwu5 жыл бұрын
She didn't learn. She still doesn't know what diplomacy is and how to get what she wants. LF would never go all out in front of his enemy and be snarky like a stupid teenager. They all hype her for being super smart but the writing's not there. Arya's statement makes it look even more forced. She could have had a good storyline with her identity changed in the Vale in S5 but it all went downhill since she reunited with Jon. Manipulated him into fighting for WF because of Rickon knowing he wouldn't survive. But she wanted to rule, who cares how many people (even if they're siblings) survive, right? Didn't tell information to Jon, complained and doubted his authority in front of all the houses just after they gained their trust back. After HE, Jon, got their trust back by sacrificing his own life. How is that smart when she divides their forces? Talking shit about Dany during the battle of WF was also pretty horrible. The writers do everything they can to make Sansa look like a fool instead of smart politian she claims to be.
@adrien42695 жыл бұрын
@@May04bwu Except we see her managing all the houses movements and actions before the battle, communicating with them, etc... She is the one they ask to know what to do about food/foraging, gathering the people and houses etc... I wouldn't say she's bad. She isn't playing any throne game right now but she IS managing the North decently.
@ipurpleyou52275 жыл бұрын
@@May04bwu I understood it that way that she is open about her thoughs because she wants to be earnest when she thinks it's important. Intently doing smth different than LF would do it. Not gonna lie the battle of the bastards could have been better if she were more open to jon. To me she doesn't need to be super sympathetic or smart, just in character. But I agree that her character development was not as expected and not as good thought through in the last two seasons due to the rushed writing of the show.

She played her part, the characters that George wrote and HBO adapted weren't meant to be all likable, they were meant to be human and realistic. But that was her character, not the hero or villain just surviving. And I also think she didnt survive that much, the only thing that she went through was abuse and rape, which almost every female character has had the same thing happen. The show just hyped her up. And I don’t like when people say that she had the best development when in reality she always had help from someone. Always. She never learned anything expect to just ask more people for help, which is relatable and realistic. But can we please stop trying to pretend she is something that she is not?

In a show filled with skilled fighters they don't understand the kind of power Sansa wields. GOT is full of political savvy people but many of them are despicable so they don't get how Sansa has been able to learn from them but not be corrupted by it. I think too many of them only remember the first few seasons of Sansa and when she was vain and a bit cowardly, and a victim. They overlook how she became a like steel underneath, is a survivor not a victim and grew into a woman not to fuck with...even though she does not fight through normal means. Sophie is such a beautiful girl and solid actress, and her character is such a strong and courageous fighter. Even more intriguing is seeing interviews from both the show's earlier years and now, and realizing how much deeper Sophie's voice is compared to when they first started. Was she also shorter when they first started? I know she's 5'9" now. Lots of girls have pretty big growth spurts when they're still fairly young.

She learned from Cersei, Little Finger and Ramsay and SURVIVED them all. She forged by fire to become a QUEEN

jeez. Imagine growing up in one of the most (if not the most) graphic TV series ever filmed. That's a pretty hardcore origin story LOLL

Shes grown up so much! I would love to say she's matured the most, but in reality they all have in their own unique way.

Sansa has been through hell and back. I always thought she was a rather dull character, but now that the show is coming to an end, I'm reminded of how much growth she's had and yes - by far one of the best character developments.

I have never wanted revenge for a single character so much, in the entire history of my life. Such an amazing journey and she played the character so well. The futility that turned into defiance and then authority, was by far one of the most noticeable evolutions in the series.

Sansa's change mentally, and physically. We watched her from a girlie girl living in a fairy tale too a beautiful, wise guarded woman. Who turned into a true northerner and stood firm on making the North it's own. Out of all characters, she too me changed the most and Sophie Turner was amazing throughout..way to go!

Sansa doesn't get enough credit. She's just as much of a survivor as Arya, in her own way. Ever since end of season one, she slowly learns how to play the game, saying everything Cersei and Joffrey want to hear and behaving like a lady, just as it's expected from her as a strategy and manages to keep surviving in similar ways through the show. She's a badass.

Not really at all. She has survived the very least of everyone in the show and she never plays the game of thrones other people win it for her cause she’s a stark. She is only a ‘smart’ and ‘strong’ character cause the show wants us to believe that despite her doing nothing

Spring of 2019 truly marks the end of an era of entertainment that’ll maybe never be matched. GOT is the greatest show ever put on tv IMO and I tuned in every week for shows like Breaking Bad and Sopranos and even the first 5 or 6 seasons of Walking Dead. Each fantastic and transcendent shows in their own rights, but GOT deserves the title for how spectacular it is at every level. Not just the actors and writers and directors, but the stunt crews and the production designers and the special effects people. All have done marvelous work on this show over the years.

For some characters it was the 20s, for some it was their teens and as audience we enjoyed every bit of their parts they shared with the show. Gonna be hard to watch the end.

A powerful character portrayed beautifully. The only Stark (arguably Bran?) that didn't have warfare as a tool to fight with. Had to learn the hard way (via Cersei, Petyr, Tyrion etc) how to fight with control, patience and intellect

I love how the actors in there often end up loving their nemesis IRL. Sansa&Cersei, Theon&Ramsey, Tyrion&Cersei, Tyrion&Tywin

I think she's had the most improvement as an actor throughout the series. I have to say, season 1 I thought she was one of the weaker actors on the show. Not terrible, but there are so many fantastic actors surrounding her that it's hard to measure up. But she found her footing and just keeps getting better. Sansa is a difficult character to play too; she changes so much from an obnoxious, idealistic little girl into a woman who has suffered and fought her way back from trauma over and over again. I hope she's one of the survivors at the end.

Sansa's reunion with Jon was one of my favourite scenes.. the way Sophie hung on too him with her head in his neck and her expression was perfect..she came from Hell and finally felt safe. Bravo Sophie!
