@@AQS521 the last two missions in episode 2 and the first three in episode 3 are very much Clone Wars adventures (TCW voice actors reprising their roles helps this feeling immensely) but other than that and random encounters set in the Clone War era, there are no levels actually based on the Clone Wars show. Nor any other show for that matter.

I remember being a little kid when the first lego Star Wars game came out. It was the greatest thing ever, I at least put like 500 hours on that game as a kid. Now compare that old gem to this game? This game completely blows it out of the water in every possible way. With 4K graphics damn. Now imagine being a 7 year old kid today, getting this game for Christmas or your Birthday. I would be freaking ecstatic as a kid today with a masterpiece of a game like this.

I think the skill tree being basically optional in the game is a good thing. You can progress through the story without using it all which is basically how the OG games played. Also you have the option to get the upgrades and make the game a little easier without breaking the game like collecting and using the red bricks did. Also from the gameplay it looks like the space ship sections are going to work like they did in the OG Battlefront 2. I’m so hyped for that

One thing that made me really happy is that they allowed for separate "control" for co-op. This means one person can use a controller and the other can use a mouse and keyboard. I'm taking advantage of this by using Steam Remote Play with my friend who lives in another state who doesn't have a controller. It's a blast!

If you get the game on Steam, you can use the Steam Remote Play feature to play local multiplayer games with friends. Don’t think a feature like this exists for consoles unfortunately

The NPC allies you have do in fact a lot of fighting if you cycle between the characters WHILE you fight. I believe this is to entice you to use every character you have, rather than plowing through with one singular character.

@@garpafieldjovi4785 And you’re absolutely right. I ONLY found this out because I saw my other character doing nothing, so I swapped to him mid attack. Doing so allows to string a couple more combos before going back to the other one. It’s a very vague mechanic.

I remember in the compleat saga, the last mission in the revenge of the sith was by far my favourite because the level was set on mustefar and at the end of the level instead of just getting a cutscene where obi-wan won the duel you actually have to fight the second player which was pretty neat. I hope that still happens in this new game but I have a feeling that won’t be the case.

Maybe because I’m a Star Wars nerd but when I see the footage from running around the open world and flying through space it just looks, as you said, like comfort food. The thing I hate is that there’s no cantina or anything to spawn into and roam around in. I loved that style. Huge L for removing it and just having it as select an episode and level. Plus they made it really complex and overwhelming.

Of course once the newer movies are released I'd love to see an additional LEGO Harry Potter game remaster. They were amazing to play though, however, I feel as though if there was immersive dialogue along with great graphics and a skill tree where you could fully customize your character's abilities would be astounding.

I think there are a couple of negatives you should have mentioned really. Main thing is the vertical splitscreen doesn't go well with the open world. It very much makes you tunnel visioned, you can see better if you sprint everywhere because it makes your character smaller on the screen. So a horizontal splitscreen would've been much better for the playstyle of the game as it'd give you a wider field of view. Another thing again is splitscreen, the camera angles can get really messed up in alot of situations, the camera angles weren't set up specifically for co-op play, anyone who's played the whole game co-op will know what I mean. The first two episodes don't have a proper level structure to them that the other episodes in the same game have. And in the OG Lego games you would go to a shop to buy things, which has been replaced with a UI Menu instead which I think removes some of the flavour, having a hub was much better. I really enjoy the game but the negative things need to be mentioned so the developers can notice potential fixes.

Unless the character had a missile launcher or basically a overpowered weapon in the lego games, the secondary ai really didn’t fight at all, and if they did they did no damage hardly. I could be wrong but that’s mainly what I remember about certain Lego games

Having actual control over your character in Lego Star Wars is amazing. The camera is well placed and combat feels great. I forgot about the gameplay changes till I loaded up the game yesterday on Xbox. Completed my first datacard x2 studs and just started Attack of the Clones and having a blast hunting down the secrets.

As a late 30’s guy whose married (no kids) and runs my own business, this is my type of game much more so than Elden Ring. It’s mindless, easy to pick up and put down, and doesn’t require an intense grind. I simply don’t have the time for anything else. I’m so glad they still make these games.

I was so excited for this game, as the previous Lego SW ones are my childhood, but coming back now I've started playing the only big downside is the levels. Instead of 6 levels encompassing the whole film, its now 5 very short levels covering the story beats and wandering round open worlds for the inbetween sections - which is great the first time, but cannot be replayed... I feel some of the magic has been lost and a better balance between open worlds and levels shoulda happened. I've hardly built anything either, which is crazy for a LEGO GAME

Im playing through episode 5 right now and damn. (Doing chronological order) It really is amazing all the open areas and all the things you can do here. The biggest problem I had with the game were the bugs especially the ones that messed with my progress. Also sadly no customiser but I can live without it. And some thing I didn’t like in it like some levels I would prefer to be something else. Like the the Yoda on kashyyyk level I believe should’ve been the Mace Windu and Palps duel level and that Yoda level could’ve just been a free roam checkpoint to checkpoint event.

It's a good game, my biggest complaint would be the voice acting at somepoints felt off and the mumble mode dosent really work as the game is clearly designed for voice acting. It's honest a shame, feel a some of the soul the original games had is lost with the voice acting.

One thing that I really want to see is how mods will be done for this game, especially mods for the combat. If they can make the combat super in-depth like something like the Yakuza series, then I'm all for it. Even if those mods don't come out, I'm still definitely picking up this game. Not just for the nostalgia factor, but to see the highly updated visuals, gameplay, worlds, all of it. LEGO games always have the exact same combat and building mechanics, which I'm going to be completely honest, made it quite boring for me. Getting all of these new things to do with brand new mechanics, and even adding a mode where it brings back only mumbles makes this really happy.

The only issue that I have with it so far is that the levels aren't that long. I think I blasted through episode 1 within 4 hours, that is including some sidetracking and collectible hunting. I'd say that some levels are even half as long as the original levels :( Also, I feel like the minikits are not as obvious as in the original games. And lastly, the RPG elements of unlocking skills and stat boost also feel a bit unnecessary because the game is not at all challenging. Some upgrades, like the stud collection range or the minikit detector, even feel like a little bit of cheating.

The story levels are about 20% of the total game. Exploring the levels, worlds, galaxies and space in free roam is going to take hours and hours, you’ll be glad the story was relatively short and an enjoyable part of the overall experience. A usual Lego game can take me between 35-45 hours to platinum, I can see this one taking me double that.

Lego Star wars (The Complete Sage) was the first game I think I ever 100% completed. Me and my dad and my two brothers spent SO MUCH time in that game, collecting everything we could find. Really fond memories, can't wait to play this with my wife and family!

While I find the game fun. I really don't like the open world sections. To me it does not feel like I'm playing a mission it just feels like walk here then get a 2 minute actual mission. It feels bland and soulless. For me I miss the puzzles and the minikits and the hubworld. It just doesn't feel like the old lego games

As much as this game is great and the open area hubs are pretty cool and neat to explore. I do miss when any characters you had unlocked walked around the hub area like in complete saga, and would even fight each other randomly. Also with the over the shoulder view, it would’ve been cool (and can still be if they do dlc) is to do like a Conquest mode from Star Wars Battlefront, capturing points and what not. And just run around while all the characters slaughter each other. Think it would be fun

For the longest time I sadly honestly forgot this game existed. Then I'd remember and I'd get super hyped then get extremely bummed when it got delayed. But now I am BEYOND excited to finally be able to be playing this game tomorrow. I grew up loving the original Lego games and this definitely seems like the definitive Lego game. Im very excited

Its not. It has very little story, which has been embedded in the cut scenes. The missions last 5ish minutes each. The game is in Exploring the planets to find stuff, which is all padding. Other than that, if you just did the story, you could race through it. I was very suprised to find that the "missions" basically have nothing to them.

From what I've seen this seems like the perfect game to learn how to play modern video games, the mechanics seem very similar to most third person games, but without any of the consequences of dying, it's a shame there's no online coop

If you get it on steam and your internet is good enough steam remote play is always an option. I have done that with a friend on some of the other lego games and it was always fun

@@spaceysteam5206 The camera angle is great, have a solid 8 hours in on Xbox and it feels great. And I had completely forgotten about the camera and gameplay changes till I was loaded into the first episode. Game is hands down the best Lego game made.
