One thing I’ve noticed that works well together is the Illusion perk “Quiet Casting”, for some reason it also makes shouts quiet. It makes absolutely no sense that a shout would be quiet but, here we are. I’ve exploited this to stealthily Fus-Ro-Dah annoying enemies off cliffs more times than I could count.

Shouts are a form of magic in lore and in mechanics, so for example Quiet Casting affects Shouts, and the Destruction perk that increases fire and ice damage affects Fire Breath and Ice Breath.

It kinda brings me back to how blown away I was when I first played skyrim. I really liked for example that the imperials would comment if you were wearing stormcloak armor. I was just little details like that that made me grow really attached to this game. There are so many open world games today but in my head, very few are made are put together as flawlessly as skyrim.

Probably because I'm relatively young, so I didn't start playing Skyrim until around 2017, but those kinds of things (in both Skyrim and Oblivion) were always really underwhelming to me. I was disappointed that it didn't have more of an effect on AI behavior. Like, why do they just say a throwaway line, instead of attacking me on sight like they realistically would? The lack of realistic world reactions to the player, as well as the super small scale of cities/towns were always the things that stuck out at me when playing Elder Scrolls, that prevented me from feeling completely immersed in the world. Like, I still got immersed, but those took me out a bit and always felt gamey. I hope that they can massively improve on those with TES VI, with how far technology has come.

One thing I really enjoy doing although it isn’t very practical but still cool as hell is using the slow time shout when going against archers. You can actually pluck arrows out of the air and it just gives it a really neat matrix vibe that I love.

I can be whatever I want! 100 Conjuration with 2 dremora lord can deal with most battle, 100 alchemy can help earn enough septims without fighting anything, 100 in both blacksmith and enchant can make any gear that fit to any playstyle you want. The purpose of the dragon that comes out of that is summoned by using the thuum on the Chandelier is the dragon is actually meant to fight for you. If you summon that dragon and do not attack it it will continue flying around and get rid of all the Falmer for you. So long as you do not attack it it will not attack you. But every time somebody sees a dragon in this game they feel compelled to attack it on site.

There’s another disguise mechanic! Sort of. When going through the civil war quest line, you’re tasked with intercepting an enemy messenger and “relieving” him of his documents. After you have brought the documents to your commander and have the new forged ones, you have to take them to the place they were meant to be delivered in the first place. When doing this, if you don the enemy sided armor, no suspicions are raised. However, if you’re wearing your side of the conflicts armor, the general will question you, and you are provided with special dialogue. Not quite the same as the embassy hit man, but cool nonetheless!

My skyrim discovery recently was discovering how OP ward spells are when fighting dragons. I was playing on a “paladin” build where i could only use one-handed and resto, so i actually started using wards regularly for the first time and god damn, wards just totally negate dragon breath and they don’t get broken unless you are right in the dragons face. Makes dragon fights SO much easier.

Definitely. There is a bit of a rush since the spells have that brief “warm up” hand gesture right before they cast. Being able to time a ward right before the dragon shouts at you is one of the things that can make a fight feel satisfying.

One little trick that is quite handy if you aren't at the stage where you can buy a house: If you've got stuff you don't want to carry around, you can stash it in the culvert right next to the Whiterun blacksmith. There's even a Thieves Guild shadowmark under there telling you that the place is safe. Your stuff will still be there whenever you want to come back for it.

The most interesting use of the Thalmor Robes is when you go to the Nightgate Inn. The NPC Fultheim is presumably a form Blades member as he will immediately attack you if you enter the inn wearing the Thalmor Robes. A nice hidden lore tip

One of my favorite hidden things is that of you have a two handed sword in Skyrim and you use the block skill tree along with the two handed skill tree not only can you disarm enemy use a bash attack but also it changes how combat somewhat functions with the slow dish ability. You can also use a combination of the sweep ability and the Bloodskal blade to hit more enemies because of the sweep function and sword beam. You can use the Bloodskal blade to do Bonus damage that staggers enemies if you use a power attack on an enemy.

7:05 Don't use the "Attack to mine" trick on consoles, or without a fan patch. There is a glitch that will stop the mining spot from "refilling". Normally, you mine a spot, go off adventuring for an in-game week or month, come back, and then you can mine again. However, attacking a mining spot can "break" whatever code that resets the ore node.

I played an Altmer and already had the Thalmor robes as my go to, because I was just trying to be authentic. I have another one So a lot of people know about the restoration loop but did you know that the fortify alteration potions also buff shouts so with a potion of fortify alteration you can make really strong shouts (I did it with the restoration loop and made a potion that fortified alteration to a ridiculous extent then used the slow time shout and got perma slow time)

The armour thing is actually seen alot through out the game, there's a random encounter where bandits pose as imperials for extortion, and wearing thalmor clothes can mess up some miniquests in and around winterhold

plus if you meet stormcloaks in imperial armor it either triggers them to fight you,or unique diolague that lets you pretend to be a spy or its dialouge due to actually being a spy(that was so fun to do)

To expand on that last trick, if you have shield charge and activate it while sneaking your stamina drains but the animation of the shield charge remains so you can essentially shield charge infinitely. I've used this trick to shield charge from markarth to riften without stopping, took me about an hour and a half (Damned mountainous terrains) I like to use Targe of the bloodied, Auriel's shield, Aetherium Shield, or Dawnguard Runic Shield for this as each of those shields have unique effects when blocking/bashing.

I actually learned the arrow thing years ago, probably back in 2013-14 and I actually remember how I found out. I just got glass arrows and I was like, Lydia (yes of course it was Lydia) why are you still using iron/steel arrows wtf woman. So I gave her like 20 of my glass arrows hoping it would help her and myself out a little. Then like 100 days later (in game) I at this point was using daedric or dragon I don’t remember, but I realized after I looted a corpse when it had a couple glass arrows in it. I was like wtf I don’t use glass arrows and then I checked lydias inventory and she had like 50 something glass arrows. I never gave her more so I was like okay this is dope let me try something. I took all but one and then kept playing and she kept using glass arrows non stop and at that point I always gave all my followers one of my strongest arrows/bolts I have.

One of my favourite spells is missing from this list as I had already played this game for a while before finding it...you can turn iron bars into gold bars!! There's only one spell book in the game that does it, and it's hidden in a bandit camp. But yeah. Awesomely good for money as you can turn that iron into gold and the Smith some jewellery up. :)

That'd be the Transmute spell, and IIRC there are two locations for it. But yeah, Halted Stream Camp is probably the easiest place to obtain it, although if you didn't prioritize stealth (e.g. via the tutorial cave bear) then the bandit chief might just be a tad difficult. Also, considering how often you get amethysts and emeralds, I'd recommend just transmuting the iron to silver (you have to have a nearby container to drop the silver ore into so they don't get transmuted to gold) then craft jewelled rings. They're more expensive, meaning they sell for more, _and_ you get to level smithing and enchanting better as both are now price-dependent.

@@brixan... One can simply _not_ use the tutorial cave bear to build stealth. I think one guide even advises against it, as levelling stealth to any extent at the start means you leave the cave with 100 stealth and not much in other skills. This does of course assume one only did the "stealth crouch towards a wall" trick, which is probably the slowest way to level stealth with the cave bear and levels nothing else. The better method is to just keep sneak attacking your partner, since that would also level bows or one-handed, and it levels sneak faster. That said if you leveled both you'd be around level 10-ish before you even get to Riverwood. That means you'd be facing tougher starting bandits, so either avoid it entirely, or go all out and max out stealth so that you can at least wait till nighttime and backstab some motherfuckers.

It's a bit baffling and difficult if you do it early on at a low level of experience, like I did. Sneaking is near impossible and there's hardly any chance to get health top-ups from anywhere with rock hard guards about.

My favorite thing I found in Skyrim was the endless shout hack by equipping 5 amulets of Talos. I mean, I'm the Dragonborn right? It seems logical and canonical for me to be able to use any shout I know anytime I feel like it. Makes the game feel more authentic and immersive to me, the cooldown just reminds me I'm in a videogame.

One of my favorite things regarding the no cooldown shout glitch is that there is a significantly easier way to get zero/negative cooldowns. Simply drink a powered up fortify restoration potion, equip a single amulet of talos, done. Literally that's it. The potion buffs the Amulet cooldown, and for some reason, does not reset back once the potion expires. It only expires once you take off the amulet. The text on the amulet does not show this, but it just works. Tested literally last week on the Anniversary edition, and it still just works. This makes it much easier to get infinite shouts since you don't need to bother with getting a transformation.

“It has to be intentional” Me - Riften main city, has over 2mil gold on my character, but still compelled to pick up basically anything and everything in the game that I deem any what valuable. One of these things is deadric enchanted weapons (even though I have potions worth 3x as much and have over 10,000 to sell, so never send up selling them and just hoarding them) and I’ve dropped them before to get down to weight in town and this accidentally happened. I’ve tried it almost everywhere now and I can say people fight over expensive enchanted items more than potions over their value. Doesn’t matter if it’s armor or weapons it just seems to trigger them more than the actual gold value.

You can get a free skyforge steel greatsword during the companion's first story quest where you venture into the Dustman's Cairn with Farkas. As soon as he changes into a werewolf he drops his 2h sword which you can then pick up.

There are actually 3 shellbugs in the game the third is hidden in the vale of course but if you find it you can mine all the bugs till their last hit and effectively get all the shellbugs chitin you need for the armor and stuff without killing any of them, food for thought

i've been toying with the idea of trying to play as a sheath WIZARD. the key to THAT strategy is an Illusion perk, "silent casting". combine that with the "muffle" spell and the "invisibility" spell, which both count as illusion spells, and you'd REALLY drive enemies nuts!

I did something like that, i called it the puppet master build. Focusing mainly on stealth, illusion and conjuration. Pretty fun when you have a big group of enemies or regular npc's, just sit back in the shadows casting frenzy and watch the chaos unfold. And when the last enemy is left send in the dremora(s) to mop up the mess.

If you get the last shield perk juggernaut, and sprint while sneak without the roll perk, you can shield charge infinitely, once at 0 stamina it doesn't stop you, most non giant enemies simply get knocked over for free hits too.

10:00 I have another trick like that, well 3 years ago when i played Skyrim a lot, and i was mostly playing like a defender style, with sneaking, some healing spells, what i found out, was the last skill in blocking, like when you start sprinting and shield charging people away, knocking them to the ground at touch, what i found as a trick was that when you go and try to sneak, and then you press the block and the sprint, and then only hold the shield button to block, you will get unlimited sprint in sneaking mode, and if you will touch someone even in this sneaky charging, you will knock them down, the only thing when it stopped by itself is when you are running in the wilds and you ran over a big rock, or something that will give you animation that you are falling, othewise it is pretty great when you find out :D

Don't forget about Kaarstag, the hidden boss on solsthiem, you spawn him from the castle ruins in the north, you need to get his skull from a glacial cave and place it on the throne by activating it. He is the hardest boss other than the ebony warrior, he gives a unique power to summon him 5 times if you defeat him

Morrowind has superior systems actually ,but Oblivion is not better,it’s one of the worst. Terrible level/scaling, terrible economy...the dev cycled was obviously rushed in that game. They actually used “face-gen” for all the faces is why they look bad. A software meant for background characters not the camera to zoom in on 🤣 I could go all day on Oblivion. Not to mention horridly written dialogue, bland and boring looking locations. Combat system is broken, 80% of the time the attacks don't register; doesn't help that some enemies are borderline immune to certain effects/spells. Look... to keep from getting into an argument here, I'll say this: If anyone can say that Mods make the game better, then clearly the game was never finished, and Bethesda never cared to finish it. I've played games very similar to Skyrim and NEVER once thought that I wanted to add anything 3rd party, and have enjoyed those games. Why not Skyrim? Clearly it's not finished, leaving way too much to be desired. Too many risks taken (though it is to be praised that Bethesda have taken said risks, just too many). Morrow Wind and Oblivion (yes, broken as they are), do it enough for me. At least they're finished products. When I find the time to play any games...

One of my favorite exploites has to do with sneaking, step 1: equip a weapon in off hand, equip spell in main hand, crouch, and attack with the dagger it will occasionally not play the animation but still deal damage, 2nd exploit that goes with this is infinite roll, step one have the sneak perk that allows you to roll when you press the sprint button, have a weapon in off hand and a spell in main hand, crouch press and hold the sprint button, you keep rolling until you let go of sprint

The roll mechanic is broken. When playing form the 1st person's POV with a bow and crouching sometimes it glitches and when you're trying to sprint while crouched it becomes a roll (different animation of the movement from 1ts p POV, the speed etc). As soon as you leave 1st person's POV it stops, but eventually will be appearing again. The only requirement is to have high archery level (not necessarily with perks).

Regarding mining: it actually takes one-two hits and just couple seconds to mine everything out of the mine shaft in case the following is done: 1) dual wield pickaxes 2) have "one handed" perks allowing you to attack faster when dual wielding and a more powerful strong attack when two weapons are equipped 3) speeding up the At Spd with a shout 4) use strong two-handed attack on the mine (the one looking like a whirlwind of blades). But personally I prefer to mine with "activation" command, as it's funny how weird and uncomfortable sometimes the position in which your character is mining is. Also IDK if anyone has known that but I've found out an exploit I didn't know before literally two days ago on how to make items not being stolen anymore. I know for sure it works with Jan (Janessa) follower from WR. So if you have any stolen items: 1) go to a shop/jarl's quarters/any NPC's house where the owner has good attitude to you and allows you to pick up anything, even if it is a single goblet 2) Find any storage like a chest, a end tables, etc 3) Put all the stolen goods in there and close the storage 4) tell Jan to go loot that said storage 5) take everything from Jan's inventory - it is not stolen anymore, you're good to sell it to the shopkeepers. I've found that while trying to simply make my follower carry more stuff that I didn't need at the moment. Some of it was "stolen" because previously I asked Fallion (or what was the name of the bosmer from Riverwood?) to pick up some of my heavy stuff in the ruins and found out it all is now considered being stolen. After he died and I've hired Jan I went to check his house and there was a chest with some good stuff, but, even though I could have opened and looted the chest without it being a crime, all the stuff inside was red. So I've told Jan to pick it up. Couple minutes later taking things off of her in the store to sell I see those valuable items from that chest on the sale list in my inventory as not stolen. Double-checked it - and now I know.😅

The orb in Blackreach is theorised to be a time travel device. In ESO there's a mission where a dwarf (I think) is working on a time device thing and it goes wrong and brings a load of creatures from different times into Blackreach. People suspect that's why there are giants in Blackreach that shouldn't be, and why the orb summons the dragon. Most dwarf mechanisms are used by sound and the shout, being a powerful sound, activates the device and pulls the dragon into your time somehow

That flame cloak thing is awesome! Never new it even existed. Does it work with all cloaks, and all fortify destruction sources?
