It's just what you love doing. Some people get a kick out of the effort and some don't. I used to 100% because it's fun, but I stopped when it became a bit obsessive. Now I'd rather just play through the game until I feel I'm done whether it's 1, 2 or more playthroughs.

What I did was create a save before I was locked out of an ending and after each ending I just loaded back to the previous save, basically set everything up for each ending first without actually starting it so I got the achievements pretty fast

DMC5 deserves to put up here. I can't put into words how easy some of its achievements are and how brutally difficult the other ones are, finishing the game on anything above DMD is a massive struggle and then there's style trophies. Truly one of the hardest games too 100% and I know I will never get it

Persona 5 is also pretty time consuming. Doing everything requires exact choices so you don't accidentally miss leveling up a confidant, if you mess up you better have a backup save in a game where eqch playthough is well 100 hours each. And then do it again

The hardest part of P5 (and some of the others as I understand it) is getting all of Futaba's commentary. It literally requires you to play the game wrong, and it's still somewhat random. I might be missing one other, but that one explicitly, I determined was not worth the effort.

I feel like Europa Universalis 4 or probably other Paradox games could be on this list. Like, you can probably complete dozens of achievements by playing one nation and planning ahead, but so many of the achievements require you to play specific nations, that you will likely have to play hundreds of matches just with the intention of getting one specific achievement, and when you get it, you start over with a new achievement.

I've got the Platinum trophy for Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne (among several others) but BY FAR the hardest game that I ever got the platinum for was Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. That Mein Leben trophy haunted me for so long. Plus all the DLC has a Mein Leben trophy attached to it as well. I had to memorize the entire game to finally get it 🙃🙃🙃

Playing multiplayer games usually kind of sucks anyways, but trying to get achievements that you have no control over and you just have to hope that the other players you get randomly teamed up with are good enough and willing to try to help you - that's not my idea of fun.

About your "NUMBER 5 : GTA4" the low completion rate is because they made a patch to add trophies MONTHS after the release and by this time, I guess a LOT of players already completed it and didn't want to go back to it for this. Trophies were really a new thing on ps3 back in the days, remember?

Black Ops 4 zombies has a secret achievement in tag der toten where when you get up to the second power switch for golden pack you have to get the gearbox up there fix it and get a zombie running on it and hope it flings you to the secret area and when you get to the secret area you have to pop your specialist to survive underwater to get the area then ride the boat back

Agents of Mayhem is no longer easy to achieve 100% completion, due to the devs shutting down the game server for online connected contract. Unfortunately, one of the achievements required the players to complete over 30 contracts and even before the server shutdown, this particular achievement is still too difficult to get. It took a lot of time, coordinating with other players, and a lot of grinding in-game just for this particular achievement. Heck, there is even a dedicated forum page for this.

I was able to get the platinum for monster hunter world's base game and star wars battle front. Monster hunter took like 360 hours. The ATAT trophy in battlefront was a nightmare but there was a way to farm it, but still required a ton of luck.

After getting Hayabusa armor and then doing the Vidmaster challenges to get Recon armor for Halo 3, I'm probably never putting that much effort into a game again. I got to show off Hayabusa for awhile, but Recon? That was like right before Reach came out and had Recon as a pre order bonus. I hopped on Halo 3 a few times throughout the years. But it felt like the time was wasted with how much the servers died off after I got it.

I've dabbled with completionism before and as a Playstation gamer only 2 games on this list intrigue me, The Last of Us and GTA IV. I don't know if the ps4 version has the multi-player trophies and I'm guessing the remake doesn't. The big problem with GTA 4, other than what you mention in the video is that it was never ported to ps4 or remastered.

And to go off topic I really miss the ragdoll affect they had in GTA4. I'd spend all day sometimes at the top of a set of stairs bumping into people to watch them slinky down the stairs. I have 100% in Just Cause 2 and it took me 87h on steam. I don't remember it being so bad. Just Cause 3 on the other hand I couldn't bother with. Some races are bugged, I hate the wingsuit challanges and there are multiplayer achievements which should be outlawed in single player games.

I actually have JC2, JC3 and JC4 at 100% haha. JC2 tracks your progress very well tho. Like the overall percentage might be 100% but it will still show you stuff like x/221 water towers destroyed. the real problem is that 5 or 6 objects aren't in the game any more and you have to mod them back in to get 100% :D the main issue is that the damn game crashs about 123821903 times before you get 100%.

Final Fantasy XIV on PlayStation 5 has one of the most daunting and time consuming platinums. I think, on average, it takes about 2000 hours to platinum. There is no way I’m going to play that long.

I actually have completed all the achievements of halo the master chife collection. All but one that won't pop even though i've done the achievement dozens of times it won't show up. I just one day decide. To try to get as many achievements as possible. And I ended up getting all 699 out of 700 achievement. I watched a lot of guides and got some friends to help me cheese some of the multipler ones.

i've only platinum'd 2 games ever in my entire life. one of them was the remake of spyro 3 which took me forever just because the very last achievement wouldn't trigger lmao and the other was horizon zero dawn, which isn't particularly difficult to 100% but it's a pretty big game and you have to play it at least twice. couldn't 100% the frozen wilds dlc though because ikrie's challenge was actually hard.

The biggest pain to 100% for me is Mafia III. What I mean by 100% is doing everything and collecting, and doing every single enemy encounter in one save. Mafia III has great story missions but everything else is torture to 100%. Gun play, driving and radio is also top notch. But everything else is torture.

I have the battlefront 100%. The added modes with each DLC died down so fast it was hard to get in games just a couple weeks after the modes dropped. But honestly so had a great time crushing people with the AT.

I'm a completionist and I 100% every single game I play. The only thing I do differently is I ignore the trophies. I've seen more than enough Gameranx videos to know that whoever creates the trophies are sadists and it's just foolish trying to get them all. If I've finished everything the game has to offer(main missions, side-quests and collectibles), I happily turn off the game knowing that I've 100% it. The concept of trophies is great, but nowadays it's just stupid.

Elder Scrolls Online - definitely not a game that people try to get achievements for, myself included. I just decided to follow through and complete the thieves guild, after almost 7 years of it being out, and it was still a diamond achievement (Xbox) with only 0.30% of players having unlocked it…
