Skyrim on PC was actually hilariously stable relative to previous Bethesda releases. Oblivion and Fallout 3 taught me to be wary of not saving every five minutes, as that was typically how long the games would last.

If you tell Windows you're running on a metered internet connection, it'll disable any automatic updating. That's how I did it for mine anyway. I've never had my PC brick from updating but it does cause some other issues at times.

I actually heard that it's not the creation engine fault but Bethesda Copying and pasting code and half-heartedly doing everything almost at time in Memorial. I actually heard from the same source that even if they switch to a new engine the game they made will still be buggy and unplayable. Please don't quote me on it however. If I have enough time I will send you the link to the information I'm referring to. If anyone here is an expert on game engines and I do mean expert, please tell us what you think of the creation engine?

William Burnett it’s not fully the creation engines fault. The reason it gets so much hate is because the engine is a modified version of the gamebryo engine that hasn’t really been used by anyone but Bethesda since like the early 2000s

While Bethesda needs a new engine, stat, Falcon completely misunderstands what engines are and how they work and its incredibly frustrating how he keeps bringing it up despite that. Unreal is no where near as mod friendly as gamebryo/creation is, and what Bethesda needs to do is make a new engine based off the old one that retains its mod friendliness.

I hav two cases,both relating to Mobile Terraria. Before the 1.3 update,if you had the game installed for an extensive amount of time,it would eventually start to crash in boot every once in a while. When the 1.3 Update was ported,the first bug was fixed,but there was another: If you did not meet the Min. Specs posted on the forums,the game would crash every single time you loaded into the new game.And since you can’t revert updates,many devices were screwed for good.

Hardest crash everyone was when I ran Borderlands 2 for a 12-hour marathon on my original Xbox 360 (I had bought it in 2007) - Screen froze, the Xbox made a sound that I can only describe as a dishwasher running, and the red ring appeared destroying the console and my Xbox account. I didn't have online connectivity and lost that account... It was a sad, sad day... RIP Xbox 2007-2018

I remember an old one as well... on the PS2 the North American English version of Ar Tonelico II had an optional boss that on turn 3 or 4 would spam the screen with text... the issue however is with the English Text it would cause a buffer overflow and crash the game. The publisher in question published battle guides on how to defeat the optional boss before the attack happened, but to my knowledge never issued replacement disks to fix the problem.

I mentioned this elsewhere but there was an incident where Phantasy Star Online 2 did something very similar to Myth 2. Originally, this game allowed you to pre-download patch files so you wouldn't have to wait for the patch to be released. So when the patch was officially "released" the game will we be patched using the file that's already there rather than downloading it from the server. So far, so good. The patch was automatically deleted after it was done updating the game but that's where they screwed up. Instead of simply deleting the patch, this uninstall process was somehow programmed to delete every file/folder that was on the same same hard drive until it hit something it can't delete. So in other words if it was installed on C then it had the possibility of screwing up your computer seriously - if it was installed elsewhere, it had the possibility of wiping that drive. Pretty serious stuff. Note that this game was released in 2012 and this incident happened in 2013. Much more recent than Myth 2 or for that matter, Eve Trinity.

Just commented this on another video about bad ports, but honestly, these deserve a mention. Call of Duty black ops 1 and 2 on ps3. Part 1 would often hard-lock during multiplayer matches, particularly on the map "Jungle", which was somewhat fixed later. The worst crashes I've ever had we're in Bioshock remastered where Everytime you saved was a Gamble and if failed would delete your save, and in Fallout NV when on rare occasions the game would crash and the if the save was reloaded you were stuck in an infinite loading screen. The nonremastered Bioshock doesn't have this issue and the NV issue is rare, I love both games with all of my heart. thanks for reading this long ass comment. I love you!

Here’s one. Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage on the N64. That game would randomly crash at times, and even had a crash screen (crash handler) You had to save EVERY MINUTE in fear of this game crashing.

Well he was referring to the Xbox 360 version which doesn't have 1st person perspective, doesn't even have online updates anymore so the game did stay pretty small throughout on the Xbox 360

Most of the space is used by textures and models. The xbox 360 couldnt handle high resolution textures and detailed models anyway, hence they could get away with much less data

RE: Lose/Lose. Long ago there was a linux version of Doom in which every enemy represented a process running on the computer. So you were literally killing your own daemons. The machine would become more and more unstable until it just crashed. Loads of fun. Im sure other games have done similar since, But I will always remember that one
