All I felt after TLOU2 was a feeling of so many deaths that could've been avoided without even getting a proper revange on any side...
@justanotheridiot38623 жыл бұрын
Because that's how real life is. Doesn't matter how important or good you where, you don't gonna have a good or honorable death. You can die just for one shot in the face after crossing the door just like Jesse. Not because you're a Stuntman you gonna die making a Stunt, a Stuntman could just die in the most boring way possible like a disease or something.
@hollow29173 жыл бұрын
@@justanotheridiot3862 Equalizing “totally” with the “rules” of reality is not always positive, considering that games, in most cases, are forms of escapism. Either way, the character development for The Last of Us is forgettable and no death in the franchise has impacted me, as it is only predictable that the characters will die before they even “win the player's heart” - Joel is a rare exception. The deaths are as important as the ones we see in the newspapers: they just don't matter because the empathy of most people doesn't work for the whole world. And that is exactly what you get by killing characters as if they were nothing without even developing them: nothing. Empty scenes that matter little, that betray the purpose of art: to arouse relevant emotions. Boring, just like reality.

Not going to lie, when I got to this section of the game, and the death actually happened, I just sat in silent rage. This game provoked feelings I have never had for a game before in my life. This game really did deserve game of the year, and Last of Us 2 should have been curb stomped.

After that scene I killed every single Mongol I seen I wore that ghost armor and never changed the armor and when I fought Kahn I took my time like i was torturing him 💯 when I finally killed him I got real close to the screen and said this is for taka I manually saved it so I can do it 3 more times

At first I was shocked. And then Khotun took his head and paraded it in front of me. The Ghost Armor never left my body after that.

Anyone else think this would’ve been more impactful if taka was Jin’s upgrade guy? Would’ve built more of a relationship if you always went back to him for supplies, ghost weapons and sword/dagger upgrades.

Idk y but this one actually made me sad. Normally when I see it coming, I don’t feel too sad. But the way he was just trying to save Jin and was fighting to the end knowing the possibility of death just made me kinda sad.

I’ve had a friend die not too long ago so seeing Taka die to fight for Jin hit so close to home and all I was thinking was “I am going to make the Khan suffer.” I’ve never felt this emotional about a game before

I think given lou2 is brought up in the video it's important to think why this death works. We have all seen way more gory death in games. Lou2 attempts this and it falls flat. It works in ghost because you like taka, he develops, he's useful practically and narratively. And he tries to go swinging but it killed fairly brutally. In a way that's blunt and shoved in your face as an exception. Where else in the game does it do this? Not often it's doesn't waste it's shot. Last of us 2 muddles it with poor plot and gameplay segregation. Mixed messaging and flipping between revenge good and revenge bad. Coupled with a generally unlikely cast (with exceptions), the violence lacks meaning. "Oh no this woman who helped torture my adoptive dad, and started insulting him is getting her head caved it" the games conditioned you to hate them. While here it matters. Not to say lou2 is an awful game and you shouldn't enjoy it. Just it could have handled itself better.

This scene made me so emotional and mad at the same time. After this their is a fight scene which includes killing of every Mongol soldier in which I raged so much that I went on a killing spree without getting a single hit from the enemy soldier. I was so fierce at that time.
