The new endings are exciting, it means we can speculate about new areas around the game. They feel respectful and compliment the original game aswell, that's really hard to do.

So what's everyone's thoughts on "Bliss"? Do you think the town is giving him another chance to correct his mistakes , is he trapped, or is he about to go through the torment of it all again?

I understand the Bliss ending as chance for James that everything that happened to this point is gone, erased and he has a new chance to act differently, that is why we cannot see him smothering Mary.

James drinks White Claudia to get the Bliss Ending and White Claudia is basically a powerful hallucinogen in Silent Hill. So he's essentially living inside the tape and realises. He's with her again, and everything is fine... until it isn't.

Or it is loop ending, he got himself through the tape back in time, but everything will happen again and again... Really great ending, fits the SH2 story really well. And the stillness to me is not very different from In Water ending, he probably just doesn't read the letter, but outcome is the same. This was bit dissapointing because it didn't bring anything new to the universe. In my opinion, it would be much better if they made it a loop ending, where James isn't strong enough to accept his actions, so he asks Mary if she will wait for him and she answer, that she will always wait for him. He cannot accept the truth, so he heads to the bathroom still distressed, there he suppresses all his memory again, walks out with a thought: "I got a letter, the name on the envelope said Mary..." It would be fun, if the game forced you into NG+ right away.

Here's how it worked in the old version. Also some speculations on how the new endings work. In Water - Keep health low and don't bother healing too much , Inspect the knife you get from Angela , read the diary on hospital roof, read the 2nd message in Neely's bar . Maria - You need at least 3 points from the following - Focus on Maria. Spend at least 10 minutes near her in an area, check back on Maria in the hospital , got the Leave or In Water Ending before, Take no damage or Maria takes less than 10% damage, Tried to visit dead Maria in the labyrinth at least twice, bump into Maria less than 3 times. This one is tricky since there are also several factors that can deduct points that will lock you out of this ending. This one is arguably one of the trickiest ones to get. UFO - New Game + only. Must collect Blue Gem from one of the bathroom stalls in the starting area. Then you have to use the blue gem in very specific spots. I would recommend a guide for this. Leave (Good ending) - You'll probably get it on a casual playthrough. Just keep your health high and listen to the whole sick bed conversation when going down the hallway. Rebirth - New Game + Guide recommended. You will need 4 items and then trigger the Mary/Maria boss fight like normal. Dog Ending - Get the Rebirth ending or the other 3 main endings. Then the dog key will appear in Rosewater Park in a dog house. Use the key in the Observation room in the hotel. New endings : Stillness and Bliss Stillness - I'm guessing same steps as In Water but on a 2nd playthrough Bliss - Most likely a 2nd playthrough but you follow certain steps as Leave.
