It is the year 24 of our lord Waluigi; we come to together to celebrate the day he graced our screens. Praises be to those who cheat and are always gonna win. WAmen
The Gamer Symphony Orchestra (GSO) is a student-run symphonic orchestra at the University of Maryland and the first collegiate ensemble exclusively devoted to performing orchestral arrangements of video game music - nearly all of these arrangements created by GSO members and alumni. We now boast a roster of more than 140 musicians, including 20 singers, and play to packed houses at the University of Maryland's largest performing arts venue, the 1,100-seat Dekelboum Concert Hall. Our mission is to bridge the worlds of video games and the performing arts and to promote orchestral video game music as an art form.
Though we are partially funded by the SGA, the GSO relies heavily on donations from our fans and supporters. We are run by students motivated by love for the orchestra, and our concerts are always free of charge, open to the public, livestreamed online, and posted on KZbin.
This rendition of Handel's Hallelujah inspired by @BitFinityGames and performed by our WAnderful choir is your reward (*cough* our punishment *cough*) for helping us meet our $7000 donation goal during Giving Day 2024! Thank you!
