Too bad, I loved their previous game "Freediver", I wish they had expanded on that and made a new game with all the great mechanics they already had. This looks a bit lackluster to me and the lack of a PCVR version is enough for me to give it a pass. Maybe for Q3 on a sale or something but as much as I love sci-fi this right now doesn't look particularly appealing.

But isn’t the game supposed to be like a telltale type of style but for vr? They did tell us what type of game it was and in the store it doesn’t even say shooter. It says Action, Adventure, Stealth, Epic.

Thanks for the review. This sounds desperately disappointing given the fantastic source material and epic feeling the books convey. I was expecting something like Mass Effect and to get this low budget "boring" "uninspired" "phone level graphics" game is just another example of how the VR industry is not delivering what is needed for VR to grow. There are hundreds of better flat games in this vein and if these developers are not up to the job they should simply licence one of those and port it to VR.

I'm really on the fence with Q3. I planned on getting one day 1 to go alongside my PSVR2, but i don't like the idea of Spending $1500 CAD for the 125mb headset + accessories that I'll need when i'm getting LCD-tier black levels and weaker colors comapred to PSVR2...I was hoping for an LCD+Local dimming for deeper inky blacks. I wish there was a Q3 Pro with a Micro-OLED display, eye tracking & Foveated Rendering for better graphics, PSVR2-tier haptics, adaptive triggers and head haptics. I'll gladly drop over a grand for that. People need to stop looking at VR as some rinky dinky budget friendly accessory. OLED TV's cost over a thousand dollars, as do Smart phones, so why can't consumer VR? It can't afford to make any compromises at this point if they truly want to impress people and sell units. I think it's going to take 4K per eye, 120d FOV, Micro-OLED, wireless, pancake lenses and with the similar headset and controller design aesthetics of maybe Q3, backed up with quality VR games by Nintendo(Mario kart 9 VR anyone?) Capcom, etc rather than the budget indie cess pool we're currently stuck in order for VR to truly make it mainstream.
@Sincerity199311 ай бұрын
Of course it will, was that ever a question? VR is a niche until then

Agreed. The tv series was poor/boring compared the epic nature of the books.

I totally agree! Apple completely failed to delivery the novel on screen, to me that adaptation is most epic disaster adaptation of any book I've seen. But the particular game is opposite to that at all! It's absolutely great adaptation I'm playing it now and enjoying every minute! The OP(Gamertag) of the main post seems not familiar with the original novel and what it's exactly about and so such a poor review, I would say this review would be good for Apple's adaptation lol.

That's a shame. I was a huge fan of the books, although I didn't really see the Foundation series translating well to a game. I would have thought The Caves Of Steel would lend itself better to some VR scifi noir with a claustrophobic setting.

Guess the fact I am one of the peopke this game is broken on psvr2, means I shouldnt worry about the fact I cant play it. I was looking forward to this, but the psvr2 doesnt even recognize the game as a psvr2 title and loads to a black screen, but with sound. Ive been wirking with the devs, and I guess Im not the only one. Not only did I just spend money on a broken game I cant play, I wasted money on a game that isnt anything they made it out to be. This is getting exhausting on psvr2 At least there's Alan Wake in an hour...

Hey Gamertag! Archiact here, devs of the game. We wanted to pop by and thank you for taking the time to review the game and giving a great overview of not only the Foundation story, but also the premise of Journey to Foundation. It's always great to see the people who are fans of Asimov's work immersing themselves in the world. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the story so much, and we appreciate your feedback. We're happy to share that we recently released a patch that addresses some of the issues you mentioned, and we're continuing to make updates to improve the gameplay experience based on player feedback. We are also working on a Quest 3 update at the moment, and will soon have an upres'd version of the game that will take advantage of the Quest 3's power. Thanks again for your review.

Actually there is way more than 5% combat!! There is about 30 % maybe more there is a fair amount of combat! way more than red matter 2 which had about 10% .Combat is not great but it is there after about chapter 2 . This game reminds me of mass effect , not as good as mass effect but it is a pretty good game.
@Brasslantern0076 ай бұрын
But this is meant to be a tell tell game story driven game in vr as it was marketed as. It wasn’t meant to be a shooter or action game as far as I’m aware. It is exactly how it was advertised and marketed so I don’t see any problem here? If peeps don’t like story driven games they shouldn’t have ever been interested in this. It reminds me of mass effect without the action element cos mass effect was very story dialogue driven also.

with foundation it falls under the same issues things like dune do where it was such a keystone of the history of scifi that everything after it borrowed or stole from its story that all the shocking/gripping/horrifying aspects of it are now tropes. if they did the retro futuristic aspects of something written so long ago without being updated for modern tech or kept the anachronistic viewpoints of something written in the 50's it would be at least an anomaly and interesting but now its just the early version of something we have seen a thousand times due to its influence on everything else
