I find, the death of kureha is the true ending. Or the good ending. Because, the story flow to her death with her complex. The moment, where she is angry to all, but at the end, save you is a good story ending for her, because in the final moment, she prove that she can do things right. That the other girl save you, didnt make a good picture, because she never was this near for me, as it was with kureha.

I would actually liked to have some sort of "megabad" or just "alternative" ending - where Itsuki suceeds in his plan in making everyone just abandon the protag thus leaving him our only "true friend". Yeah i know what you'd say, but i really liked Itsuki, although he seems like a total psycho sometimes i can kinda understand his feelings and wish for having "a true friend just for himself" - an egoistical and simple wish, and would really like to have some sort of "Itsuki ending" where we either end up with him or at least "redeem" him somehow.Its actually sucks that he has to be a "villain" just not to outshine or "real buddy" Kirito-kun (nah actually for me Kirito is a much bigger douchebag, really hate when he treats me as his sidekick, ordering me around and all)

@jamesdempsey41946 жыл бұрын
"Choices" We made only one choice that actually mattered. Even that didn't really matter too much. I like the bad endings too but my decision was made way before getting to the final chapter. Kureha was with us from the very beginning. Sure we were spoonfed the idea that our custom character is a childhood friend of Kureha - that was fine because there were plenty of events that made me believe in this forced relationship. Then it didn't seem so forced at all. Zeliska on the other hand, she spent most of the game telling me how terrible I am at looking after my Arfa-Sys unit. She changed her mind way too late into the story and I honestly didn't care, even though I feel like she was a cool character that could have been something of a mother-figure (I know that's weird but I can see it). I was going with Kureha all the way, no matter what. You can see from the cutscene that your character could have easily avoided the final attack that killed Kureha or Zeliska. It doesn't also make sense because you can't feel pain in these games, so you shouldn't feel tired - it shouldn't happen. To add to that I run Shield Matrix 3 and sometimes Hyper Awareness so there's no excuse. I feel like the over-emphasis on Kirito and the others was what ruined the impact of the ending too. Because most of them have no importance in the story and are just around because they are. Spend less time on trying to upgrade Arfa-Sys and focusing on this BoB Death Gun plot - then get more events and missions that focus on establishing a relationship with our Arfa-Sys and Kureha - possibly Zeliska and Itsuki (who honestly looked like a cool dude at first, but the most important rule about male characters in the SAO games is that they all have to be villainous douche bags if they aren't Kirito). Still most disappointing SAO game, but a fun one nonetheless. Also fuck Kirito Mode. Death Gun should have been our villain.
@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree on the Kureha/Zeliska dilemma. That is, it is not a dilemma. The game gives me no reason to pick Zeliska over Kureha. Despite me not having memories with the characters, Im still not gonna force a game character to pick their friend of 2 days, over his/her childhood friend. I dont really have a problem with the cutscene logic itself. Yeah, you dont feel pain or physical fatigue, but the mental fatigue is still there. Its the same logic why people "gasp" when they are shot in GGO. While you dont feel anything, it's still an instinct to have a reaction, when a super fast object pierces through your body. As for Shield Matrix and stuff, the assumption goes like "Its a dramatical scene and my skills that can be helpful to me are on a cooldown". I didn't even touch on Kirito's appearence for the Bad Endings, since I didn't want the video to be longer than 15 minutes, but I will be talking about it in part 2, where I'll talk about the True Ending, since in all the cases, Kirito and the others physically appearing there, does not add anything whatsoever to the situation. And yeah, Kirito mode was indeed disappointing, but I don't think its a topic that worth an entire 10-15 minutes on an individual video. That will be covered on my Ultimate review of the game. Hope you enjoy the review once Im done, as well as the future episodes of this series!

I was kinda hoping, our custom character got to fight Death Gun on there own, and not having to do with Kirito.. @masteroak97246 жыл бұрын
And then you play as male character, you become a Kirito's clone with all his qualities and flaws (they could still put Kirito as protagonist and it wouldn't make a diff); you play female, you're still seen as male and naturally a Kirito's clone. I'm also hoping for a SAO game that don't involve Kirito or they don't make your custom so like Kirito you could as well be playing as him.

Here's would've done the story parts of the game (and every interaction with the characters would affect parts of the story like in undertale): First, up until the part where Kirito comes in would stay the same. However, instead of encountering Kirito and Asuna, it would an unlikely partnership of Zeliska and Bazalt Joe. After competing the ufg tutorial, the system would announce players named Kirito and Asuna as the winners. Not too long after, you, afa-sys, and Kureha will form a squad and after getting the parts in the starting area, Zeliska and Itsuki will join the squad. Also there'll be more interactions and character development with the squad as well (same with Joe). And instead of facing Joe twice in a row and then a 3rd later, you'll face him 3 times in a row and he'll join your squad. After that it'll stay the same up until you go meet mother except with very few interactions with Kirito's and LLEN's gang. After meeting her, and beating the boss, you'll form an alliance with Kirito's gang and unlock outfit designs and dual arms. Itsuki tells you that he notices the amount of changes that's happening in your life after entering GGO, says the same speech, and decides to make you his even if he has to become the devil and logs everyone out. From there for a while you'll be in the rl world and interact with rl Kureha, her sister (who you help Kureha make up with during that time) and Joe. After you return home, you receive an email from itsuki that leads you to the same events in the ending. From there you contact Kureha about it and decide to confront itsuki. The same boss battle will occur except Joe's involved and every choice you make & who of the 2 you used most will determine who dies and in the cutscene you'll be responsible for their deaths. From there the normal endings will play but after leaving the game for a while and Joe + Kureha/Zeliska cheer you up, you and Kirito will go on a mission where the 2 of you will enter the BoB with Sinon and plays similar cutscenes in K-mode. After some event I haven't thought of yet, you'll face the final bosses (Itsuki and Death gun together) with your squad and not along with Kirito and his gang.

This will be a kind of twist and Bad Ending I will hoping for. This game is kinda predictable since the start when the protag met with Itsuki. My instinct told me "This guy's definitely the villain". Still, the original bad ending left me with something empty while it might be a twist but not kind of satisfying twist like NeiR did.
@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
As I said, Bad Endings ultimately fell short based on the expectations it created. Since it was always advertised with the words "Your Choices", I expected my choices to seal the fate of one of the two and then carry the weight of that choice, since It was actively my decision. Honestly, even with Scenario 1, I'd be happy, seeing that my choice caused one of the girls to feel obliged to sacrifice herself.

To be honest, I'm a big fan of bad ending myself. It has so much potential to be more emotional so that the girl we choose to protect might be killed in a fight and that would make our character to be pissed at Itsuki and promised him that he will make him pay for what he did. To be honest I had the same idea of changing this ending as you. :) That would be the ending I would like to be continued in next SAO game. While I like the good ending as well (especially when Kirito and our character shows up, hmm... gorgeous :D), it didn't give me the feeling that it was "True" ending. What is missing in this game the most is proper romance system and differences of which gender MC is. I replayed the game by creating a female character to see if there are some differences by playing female, but everyone treats you like a man in almost every way. The only thing that they make us believe that we play female is when Yui in her event called her "Sister" but that's it! Plus, with romance system and our female character decide to be with Itsuki, we could see her be shaken when she points at him because she loves. Not to mention I hate when MC has no voice in actual story, It might work with KOTOR or DA: Origin but that was because there were juicy dialogues that you could choose. At any rate, I hope that we will receive good continuation of this story and that we could choose if we are with Kureha or Zeliska or our Arfa-sys in some romance than in ecchi events they added there (don't get me wrong I love these pictures :D).

Is it a great game? Of course not, it has its "small" poor details but remains as a good game. Bought the game when it was on sale on Steam and actually enjoyed the game, in a way it reminds me of Scarface (Started from the bottom and work your way up just to "loose" everything at the end). Give it a try if you are mainly on TPS/FPS, enjoy customizing/creating your own character, and/or enjoy RPGs as SAO; The only downside I see is the story line and character development: Story line: Expected to be longer and more on detail in your OCMC (started as a new player and ended up being an "survivor" after defeating Death Gun and Itsuki, instead of Kirito getting Death Gun as the villain for canon and us getting Itsuki as our villain) Character development: Kureha, Itsuki, Zeliska, and "Number 2" were very interesting characters but they didn't have a lot of time to develop during the story or enough time-screen because . . . well reasons (Kirito squad). However they were "make-up" with the bed scenes/event so there is that. Say whatever you people want, but when Kureha started to change drastically from your "Good Childhood-Friend/Hopes Up/High Spirit Personality" to your classic Tsundere "I hate you/Im nothing/Everyone is better than me/etc." I was already at that point when I was saying myself - "Look, if someone kidnap YOU and say I don't know . . . Zeliska?! and I could only save one of you I choose Zeliska without hesitation! At least she does not yell at me for everything wrong in her life and actually want to spend time with me" - yes this was on middle of the SBC Fluggel story line (SBC Fluggel Quest to Mother Claudia plus the celebration for finishing the quest) and ohoho I was awkwardly laughing when that scenario DID happen . . . I have no regrets choosing Zeliska over Kureha: Kureha: Its true, without me you are useless Me at that moment: That is a lot of talking from someone whose only accomplishment on their life was a death wish Aftermath Zeliska and Kirito: Sorry for your friend . . . Me: *Sigh* Don't worry, it's not like anything of value was lost Zeliska: Beg pardon? Wasn't Kureha your best friend? Me: Exactly, was, as if no longer my best friend, the moment she started to beat me up for everything I knew I already lost her. Even her last words were not worthy to remember and if so is just for deep wounds. Kirito: Wow . . . that escalated quickly Me: Again, doesn't matter, I'm alive and I did save us from another death trap event, most importantly I'm not traumatized either. I just need time to reflect on my life and I'll come back doing quests with the squad. Arfa-sys: Master . . . Me: *smiles at Arfa-sys* I'm ok as long as you are there for me Arfa-sys: *hugging me* I'll do my best to be always by your side master! Me: That is very reassuring of your part Arfa-Sys I did found Kureha very displeased because I'm not into tsunderes or not a big fan of characters pulling not just your leg but the whole body down as "If I can't be important nor you will/If I'm going down you are going down with me", Zeliska is actually a good character as Itsuki in a weird but interesting point, Itsuki from the very start I knew he had to be the one backstabber even if his intentions were to "demonstrate the reality" (too predictable), and "Number 2" was weird at first but its just a miss understood friend, in terms of your Arfa-sys of course.

Funny thing is I always imagined the GGO world (based on SAO II and Alternative) to be a gritty and harsh world of guns and metal. So by that context, a brutal scenario was what I imagined all along when I started the game. Ofc, when I started I thought "Oh, maybe there'll be a part of the map or scenario where it gives that same brutal/gritty yet futuristic feeling of the world like the anime did". Sad to say I was disappointed. But that didn't keep me from playing it coz there's guns! Then Kirito showed up, became parties, and basically my group became one with the Kirito group. Hated this. But its fine, I'll only rarely use him or Asuna for certain boss characters anyways. Plus, there's Argo! Then this shite ending. Now after watching the true ending, I can see that its not even fucking worth it to get the TE since: 1.) Doesn't give any additional information than what was given in the BE after the boss, 2.) Gives us a shitty ending where Kirito gang and my remaining group (Zeliska died in my route) does an ambush on some enemy team. In other words, all that weight and tension of death being a very possible outcome was a false alarm. And 3.) Because of these two reasons, doesn't give me a reason to want to go back and do all the hard work for the TE. Zeliska, as much as her death was tragic, wasn't that sad coz she wasn't emotionally attached for me compared to Kureha. And 2, the BE somehow had 2-3 real Nervegears rather the 1-2 in the TE, which doesn't make sense in the sense that Kirito had basically said that the ratio of real to fake was more for the fakes. So, I agree with those people who prefer the bad end more. There was tension and risk in the climax, and the risk was rewarded (somewhat) including with the consequences, in the bad ending. While the good/true ending is like those generic harem or generally shite animes where the author "tried" to add in something "serious" to something that is already goofy but "tries" to be "serious", where after the "serious" part ends, the tension is forever gone and everyone lives happily forever. BULLSHITE!
@jonp19526 жыл бұрын
While I kind of agree that your protagonist doesn't choose to fight for either one in your choice, the ending feels like it has more weight to it than if your character actually protected one over the other, or caused an accident. For example, if you picked Kureha, Zeliska sacrifices herself for you, somewhat proving that she cared more for you than the character you picked. Kinda made me feel terrible for picking Kureha over Zeliska. Of course I personally didn't like either that much, but it kind of stirred something up for me picking one over the other, and then seeing how much the other cares for you.
@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
That is correct, but I either talked about that here or in my Ultimate Review for the game, that scenario creates another problem. The game does not really give any kind of relationship development between you and the other characters for such a scenario to be possible. If I roll with their decisions and let them sacrifice themselves, considering the relationship built throughout the game, we can only come to the conclusion that they did it, not to protect you, but for personal/selfish reasons. Zeliska protects you because she is an employee of Zaskar and it's her responsibility to protect players and Kureha protects you, because she sees no meaning in her life and wants to make a difference. At that point, the horribly unnatural character relationship build-ups in the game come to question and requires an entire overhaul of the main campaign, which is why I didn't go in depth about that possibility. I wanted to make the Ending more meaningful, by only altering the ending. But of course, looking at the big picture, this is also a great option.
@jonp19526 жыл бұрын
While I do agree that there isn't enough to create relationships between the 3 characters(although for Kureha it kind of does), I feel that their relationships were much more solid than the rest of the cast. The game does display everyone as your friends for the most part, but these two do kind of show themselves as interested in more than just friends. I personally would have liked the relationships further displayed though either way. I do feel like this is how it was intended though.

I never understood why we even have those choices other than giving the [very poor] illusion, cuz throughout the game none of the choices we make matter at all. It was silly to have two bad endings cuz 1) they're just so poorly written and 2) I didn't care for Zeliska to save her and I never liked Kureha and her attitude so I couldn't care less about her either. It just made no sense to me from either side. In the end, that we have to make the choice is the final "you don't really have a choice," really, cuz the bond we develop with Kureha never felt authentic and from what I remember, we never develop anything relevant with Zeliska. At this point, I just accept that SAO games are terribly written. They're fanfiction more than anything. I play them for the gameplay, skipping as much of the story as I can. I tried paying attention to FB's story at first but it was just such a chore that there came a point where I just didn't care, especially where side-events such as sleepovers are concerned.
@housinengi95126 жыл бұрын
to be honest you can go through out the whole game not caring or using both girls or talking to them ever again which is stupid since there are relation ships with characters but they only matter in the true end
@Endymion7665 жыл бұрын
The entire story arc through this whole game was one huge snore fest. The only reason why I've put so many hours into this game was because the combat was so much fun. I don't even know which endings I got because I went to watch TV while it was playing. If the player has no interest in the story then they have no interest in the ending. IMO Neptunia Dimension did a much better job at getting players invested in the characters and lore with shorter and more meaningful dialogue encounters.
@Gamerturk5 жыл бұрын
I wholeheartedly agree. I touched it very briefly in this video, but I made that much more clear in my review of the game. The "Story" is effectively non-existent throughout the entire game. "Play the Game" should never be the story of your game, even if you are emulating an MMORPG world. There needs to be a mystery that directly involves your character on a personal level. Hollow Realization, barely having any stakes for Kirito, still managed to create an issue that ties to him on a personal level, 2 in fact, one with the Black Swordsman problem and one with the mystery behind Premiere and Tia. Fatal Bullet only cares enough about issues until the Final Stretch and it comes off an insincere since the game never ever hinted at Kureha's feelings in the duration of the main campaign or Itsuki's actual yandere craziness or anything with Zeliska really. All 3 characters were there to spout exposition, much like everyone else, so you never got to care about anyone at all.

I ruled out the two possibilities, those being "Zeliska and Kureha are sisters" and "Strea is an AI" way before the game came out, because the Gameverse already used those plottwists as major story points in Hollow Fragment with Strea and Lost Song with Seven and Rain. I'm glad they found another way to use Zeliska.

Dam. That second scenario is dark. I like it. Personally I didn't think the game gave you enough reasons to pick Zeliska over Kureha but that's just me. I didn't like the bad endings because of the reason you said. It's the npc's choice not ours.
@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we don't really get any reason to pick Zeliska over Kureha in General. Why would we pick some mysterious girl we just met, over our childhood friend who is going through personal struggles?
@insaneanimegamer70266 жыл бұрын
Gamerturk exactly. Maybe if the game had you fall for zeliska while Kureha just remained a close friend? But then it wouldn't make sense if you picked Kureha. I'm really enjoying the game. But another flaw, and this is,just my opinion, but what about a backstory for our character? I have a feeling something dark happened in our past. Would explain why the character is like kirito with zero friends before GGO.
@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
I believe the choice was the reason why Kureha was more of a dick than she needed to be in the third act. Since they couldn't make Zeliska a worthy choice, they tried making Kureha a less worthy choice to balance the scale, by doubling down on her personal issues. Would explain why our OC has zero friends? Its simple... We need to be able to talk or have people to talk for us, to make friends :P
@insaneanimegamer70266 жыл бұрын
Gamerturk I guess. I just hope if there's a sequel, we get a complete backstory. Like more on our chatacters and kureha's past together. Are our character's parents alive? Kureha talks about hers but I don't think she or us brought up ours.

@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
Well, thats actually because I have an exam on monday and I have tons of other homework for the Uni that I am trying to clean out of my table. It was either spending the little spare time I had on affinity grinding for the remaining character events or actually doing something that I had the motivation to do. As for "Fixing the Gameverse", even you agreed that these aspects of Fatal Bullet were badly executed. So I'd say give the series a shot. Worst case scenario, you will have a different opinion. Best case scenario, you will enjoy the scenarios I bring to the table ;)
@saintneos45576 жыл бұрын
Oooooh, okay then, that makes more sense, and as someone who suffered through the grinding (Though for way different reasons...basically just to see the ending where no one died XP) of Affinity, I get you XD Actually, I DO think you make a good job of 'remaking' these endings in your words, and would actually have made them better (I LOLED very hard to some of the edits you made, like Itsuki's face on Kureha's body, or he saying he 'fucked up', or OCMC actually hating the bastard for what he caused XD), but I think we both know that's the ONLY in which I would agree. You suggested the other day why you liked the 'bad' endings over the 'true' one and how having Tia and/or Premiere dying would have made HR's ending 'better' in your opinion, and no matter what you say, given how the Gameverse has always seen and its purpose in my eyes, I would never agree on that :3
@Gamerturk6 жыл бұрын
Oh I didn't say Tia or Premiere dying would make it better. I said it would give much more of a meaning to their arc overall, by having a much bigger emotional impact on the player. Whether that is "better" or not, would depend on the player, since that game had not promised such a thing going in or did not actively lied to the player, so I don't actually have a problem with that in general. That was just a tangent I went on the "threats being meaningless". That was just one of the many ways of how that threat could have been realized. I dont have any issues with Premiere or Tia surviving there, so that won't even be the topic of an episode in this series. As I said in this video, I'll be focusing on glaring problems, rather than my nitpicks of the series and from your reaction, it's nice to see that I hit the spot with the starting episode ;) And don't worry, these videos won't be on the same tone as our discussions. You see, the impromtu discussions we have in the comments are less thought out and while I tend to push my own side of things, I tend to be less focused, don't really come up with decent arguments at that time or come up with a bad example, because I am busy with something else, while preparing a video, I really put a lot of thought in to make sure I stay on point, with the right attitude, with the right examples, in order to convey the idea as accurately as possible, without causing splash damage. To give an example, you know my attitude towards the giant cast and our discussions on "Diminishing Personality" all the way throughout AWvsSAO", where my solution was simply "Don't include those characters in the game". Once I touch that topic in this series, it won't be anywhere near that blunt, I will thoroughly go through the issues that a huge cast may create and how to combat this effectively, without causing issues for any character etc. In short, the videos will be much much less blunt. I won't be cutting an entire arm, just because there is an infection on the finger. I won't even cut the finger. I'll do my best treating the finger.
@saintneos45576 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I see. Fair enough, but I'm still unsure if I will be watching more of this series XP Especially because, I gotta be honest, the only reason I don't mind your ideas for this was because, well, I DON'T CARE for the Bad Endings, because they're precisely that, the 'fake'/bad ones, the ones where people die when they're killed (GG, Shirou!), and that's not how it goes in the Gameverse to make it the Gameverse, unlike Canon SAO, so yeah XP That said, I may at least give future videos a look to see where they go :3

@Son_Milton5 жыл бұрын
Gamerturk yeah I understand I also love Mother’s Rosario, people also love it. One reason is because of Yuuki konno. She was amazing and had such a wonderful character arc and a great bond with Asuna. But we all knew she was gonna die way ahead of time, we didn’t find out at the last minute. Those are the kinds of “tragic endings” that we don’t need. I just hate when writer get us attached to characters and kill them out of nowhere just like that.
@Gamerturk5 жыл бұрын
@@Son_Milton I definitely see where you are coming from, however I'd like to disagree that it is about "knowing it's inevitable" or that "its coming" beforehand. It's exactly because of the thing you first mentioned. It's because it was a wonderful arc, regardless of the sadness it featured. We didn't know Yuuki was dying until the final few episodes and we met her as someone full of life, we loved her because she lived the life to the fullest, without knowing she couldn't even live a true life until it was revealed later on. I believe that a wonderful arc cannot be undermined by unexpected sadness, as long as it is a solid story. And that is what I want to encourage for the games. A solid narrative, without the fear of losing characters. Im not saying "Kill off characters because things are so happy", I'm saying "Don't shy away from exploring different kinds of emotions and stories that will nevertheless satisfy people, regardless of the outcome of the story". Hope that clarifies my stance.
