How fitting for the IRL SAO informant who is informing the player base to be playing as everyone's favourite informant who's main goal is to inform the player base and get paid, whilst monetising the youtube video... Truly you are a hero among heros😭🙏 That being said, how did you find the first Beta timeslot? I had alot of fun playing, and the reuse of some assest from Fatal Bullet ( my favourite game ever ) put a smile on my face... I cannot wait for release to see who else we will get xD

Man this game is so fun, I had a blast playing it all night (3-9 am for me) and i am paying the price lol. I only encountered some minor bugs and jank, and I cant wait to play more!

I see you went with Argo as well. She was who I was maining during this first session as well. I'm so used to basic attacks lunging you towards an enemy (especially cause I've been playing FF7 Rebirth recently) so not having characters do that felt a tad weird and I found Argo's triangle skill to help me with that. Airborne enemies were especially annoying, which once again had Argo's homing skill attack come in handy. Planning on trying out Sinon a bit for next session. Can't bring myself to use Oberon, even though I am curious about the mage class lol, and tank and support have never really been my playstyle. Btw thanks for the info regarding beta signups. Would not have gotten a chance to play this without it.

stayed up for the first beta testing and it was super fun. the combat felt good but the controls are a bit different than i remember FB being so it took some getting use to. I kept pressing LT for some reason to run and kept untargeting things haha talking about the target system, it felt good at times and other times not so much. in general i noticed that targeting smaller npcs was fine but the bigger mini bosses is where the target system was weird. maybe im just use to the gunplay of fatal bullet for larger enemies though lol. i did notice that sometimes a health bar would disappear so i wouldnt know how much hp an enemy had but that was only a couple times and it couldve been i was just beating up on an already killed enemy kept alive in my chain combo haha. the boss rooms were chaotic and from my experience no one would ever use the counter system. i got the counter system to be done once in the boss raid gameplay but in the world map against ilfang it was never used. not sure how much of a difference the counter system being used makes but i only ever beat ilfang once and we didnt use the counter system that time so idk. it was really cool when we did kill ilfang though, it felt very anime like since i killed him with the "hold y" attack that jumps at an enemy. ilfang has just jumped up to do the jump aoe he does and i jumped up and hit him first with that attack for the last hit! was was super awesome i wish i had captured it! overall I had a lot of fun with the closed beta and im looking forward to the next test. I felt constantly time constrained though since i never got a full lobby of players. there was always more COMs than players so maybe our damage was just low in general /shurg also seemed that players were rushing to the boss room and we were almost always underleveled compared to the boss room. im not talking like 25 vs a lvl 30, im talkin like lvl 15-20 against a lvl 30! no one wanted to clear the map and get exp, it was "rush the mission and get it done" mindset. and i feel like that could be alleviated from giving these quests more time than just 30mins. maybe a 45 min timer would be better to give a little cushion for players to explore the entire map. it could also be that we were running out of time constantly cuz most of my parties were 1-2 players with 2-3 COMs filling in. and the npcs seemed worse AI wise than FB's imo. they couldnt even revive me when i went down. they would approach me and then walk away! and maybe it was the sleep deprivation but i had no idea what the magic crystals were all about in the boss room, i dont remember seeing a tooltip about them at all. so im not sure what destroying them did if anything at all. but i'd give the first beta test a solid 7/10 and im looking forward to the weekend test, hopefully the lobbies will be fuller!

On the topic of Counter mechanic, I feel like that was mainly due to the actual player count. NPCs do join in, but they have a delay after you start as the leader, so they are often way too late. So without enough actual players, by the time you get there, your NPCs dont get the time to join in the first place.

I haven't seen that first map. It always puts me into that 2nd map with lively grass and trees. What do you personally think of the 13:22 Objective and the 18:25, that Counter Chance mechanics? I'm personally not a fan but I don't think I ever seen others mention it. They typically just have conversation about character balancing.

I played the beta on Switch and I was surprised by how well it looked and playing with people from other platforms, despite it being the inferior version!

Yeah, a lot are not explained in the minimal tutorial. The story mode probably acts as a tutorial to an extent so the full game will likely teach stuff better. But for now, you just need to experiment with buttons a bit.

So far this beta is quite good, definitely a few tweaks needed as some bugs are present and a little rebalancing is in order, but the base we have right now for the beta is really good. I do worry a bit about the character rank to get passives especially among 20+ characters. I have much more notes on a doc of mine but I would say I'm quite satisfied with the game loop already, curious what they'll do next!

Wonky but I like the party rogue dungeon crawling vibe and how grounded the combat is. It looks less like a Kirito simulator. And last the lineup, they don't look like they compliment Kirito but rather a party

The game seems to require online connection at all times. However, there will be a single player story campaign as well. And you can just freely join multiplayer with matchmaking anyways, you do not need a group of friends.

So how's the combat feel? Is it better than FB's sword combat? It looks better.

Great question, which was actually a big concern of mine before playing, because Photon Sword combat in FB had way too long wind ups requiring you to be two steps ahead of the enemy at all times. In Fractured Daydream, every weapon is a lot more responsive. Still small wind-ups here and there, but attacks also have a short lunge towards enemies with a proper lock on. Think of Horizontal Square in FB, but with actual targeting on the initial lunge movement. Air/Jump combat I still find quite annoying, I think basic attacks in air could benefit from a small lunge towards enemy as well since you have less precision in the air anyways with your control, but at least you can circumvent that to a certain extent if you plan ahead the usage of skills.

The game bases itself in the main canon after Alicization, so yeah, only canon characters. Maybe others can be added later as bonus characters and the like.

I can see a big problem, and its the lv system , they guy played for 17 minutes and a got lv 20... this is a massive problem people will complete the game in 1 day and might quit and not play again, I hope they make a bit harder to lv up

The level in the game is instance based. You always start at 1 and level up throughout the dungeon to unlock more bonuses. There is an account rank and a per character rank outside of the in game portion.
