Gen Con in Indianapolis has been the largest tabletop gaming convention in North America for years. Before an online-only con in 2020 and a 50% attendance cap in 2021, the 2019 show brought in roughly 68,000 people to the Circle City.
And that means designers debuting their games at Gen Con have an incredibly daunting task ahead of them. On today’s Flyover Culture, we spoke to a few designers at Gen Con’s First Exposure Playtest Hall, a place for game makers to road-test their designs and for players to get their hands on new games before anyone else, too find out what it’s like to step onto a stage this massive.
