@Jeffistopheles Hey Jeff, I didn't initially, then halfway through the setup figured it'd be easier to have the video up on the steam deck as all the code I needed is in the video description, and copying and pasting was the easier way forward.

Huge thanks for this update, I got my deck yesterday and set this up but controller wouldn’t work. I don’t know if it’s with the latest system update but I don’t get the same controller layout screen and there’s no option to “apply configuration” at the bottom. What worked for me was simply removing the quotation marks. Now all works perfectly. Great channel, New subscriber!! 🤘🏼

It's not working on my deck. Did everything you did. When I click on the cloud gaming icon and hit play it goes into the loading screen and gets stuck there. So frustrating

Just wanted to come back and give an update. I tried again and I got it up and running this morning! 🙌 I'm not sure where I went wrong before or if the browser was indeed the problem. Now that I think about it, there was a separate flatpak install of Microsoft edge from the link in the description, which I installed this time instead of installing it directly from my steam deck discover area, hopefully that helps someone if they are struggling too. I was so upset that I couldn't get it working but now I'm so happy lol happy gaming everyone is a wonderful time to be a gamer! And thanks for this guide again!

I noticed several steps had changed since even Ms made their initial guide. Im curious if they will actually release a proper xcloud app through steam instead of using the browser. but that may be further down the line. I was able to get it to work and its pretty cool. I actually had to plug a kb in to enter my xbox info as the onscreen kb would not enable (pressing steam + x). Overall im impressed with being able to use this instead of my phone.

Any idea why the keyboard opens up behind the edge browser? I got everything installed, but if I use steam+x to open the keyboard I can't see it. This makes it impossible to search for games :( in desktop mode, if I go to the corner to show all windows I can confirm the keyboard is there, but I can't give it focus

He forgot to mention that you have to add a Space before pasting the the --windows-- command inside the Launch option when pasting. So after the @@u @@ add a space then paste the --windows-- command

flatpak --user override --filesystem=/run/udev:ro com.microsoft.Edge For folks struggling with the steps around control support for Edge, use this code. The one in the KZbin description didn't work as it needs two of the minus signs before the word user (so it should read as '--user' instead of the '-user' we see in description)

How do you get Edge to show up in the "Add a non-Steam game to your Games Library" window? It isn't an option in this list. I've tried both the right-click -> Add to Steam option from the programs menu and manually adding via Steam. Edge is not listed at all. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled Edge. Edge (beta) isn't an option on the Discover store either.

Edge never shows up as a selectable program for me when I attempt to add it via Steam. However if you manually search for the application (digging through Program Files etc.), add it, and restart Steam, it will then show up as an installed app. At least it did for me. I'm not sure why, but it works now for me.

@@mitlanderson this honestly is a good point to bring up i noticed today when i got around to messing with it again that mine worked when i ran the application through game mode again after a hard reset on my steam. This doesn't surprise me at all since every console, handheld, and even pc i run into after running a bunch of programs on it needs a good restart.

Did I miss the bit that shows you how to add the xbox gaming site to the default. When I click the edge app in game mode I always have to search for the site and then play. Can't see how to make it go there by default.

Someone help! The set up works perfectly, but no games will launch for me. I select a game, the little ship flies by, a Xbox logo video plays then nothing. After awhile I get a "we'll be right back" message with options to Retry, or go home.

OK....I followed the ENTIRE tutorial and once I got everything up and running, Game Pass did not recognize the Steam Deck controller (Yes, I set the controller properly). After going back through EACH STEP, I realized that I had typed the flatpak (I used flatpack -- with a 'c') command wrong. (You can see previous commands that you have typed into the Linux 'Konsole' by pressing the UP ARROW on the keyboard to cycle through previously entered commands). Rerunning the command did not solve the issue, so I removed GAME PASS from the Steam Library, went to the Desktop and REMOVED Microsoft Edge and then went through the tutorial again. This time everything worked flawlessly...so if anyone messes a step up try removing the Edge browser and start over. Hope this helps!
