Wow. Thanks for all the kind words everyone they mean a lot to me. I want to say it again that Joe and I are still good friends and will be for many many years or until he stops buying copies of Snatcher for me to pilfer and then it'll be over. I'm excited to see future episodes of Game Sack especially one that I know Joe is working on that includes my favorite SNES game. And if Joe wants a cameo at some point I would jump at the opportunity. Game Sack has been a really great time in my life. Going to conventions and meeting lots of people really made me enjoy what we did. Plus I got a chance to play tons of games that I never knew existed thanks to all the recommendations from your comments. I've learned a lot from you knuckleheads and I hope you've learned a little from me. Thanks again and keep watching Game Sack.

Here stands a true fan, and while time moves on and all things must eventually end, I'll fly your colors until that end finally comes. You never disappoint. So, bless you, Dave. We'll always love you and your dynamic with Joe, combat-forged veterans of the one true console war. Thank you for everything you've brought to this show and for just being you. My biggest regret is not being able to meet you both at all those conventions you went to and I couldn't. We wish you good fortune in the games to come, and hope your retirement gives you the time you need for your loved ones and to unwind. We're missing you already. Work-life-hobby balance is super important, but if you're burning out, it's time to bow out gracefully, or risk preventable harm to yourself. We'll never forget and never stop loving you, and we'll cheer from the bottom of our hearts on the off-chance you pop up again... ...but if Game Sack turns into Makeup-n-Shoes with Joe and Jen, I swear to God I'm comin' to Colorado to kick some Sacks, yeah.

I bought a Lynx back when it came out, and my brothers and I had a lot of fun with it. Mine came with _Blue Lightning_ packed in. I beat that game several times. It wasn't a particularly difficult game, and it was really pretty great at the time for an Afterburner type game on a console. _Xenophobe_ was a good port of the arcade game. _Desert Strike_ was good. _Stun Runner_ and _Hydra_ were big games for us. _Chip's Challenge_ was one we enjoyed, and _Klax_ was good as far as "connect three" puzzle games go. _Todd's Adventures in Slime World_ had several different game modes, and some of them were much more fun than others. _Warbirds_ had good and challenging dogfighting if you selected the correct settings. It was much more of a simulation than _Blue Lightning,_ and thus not really the same type of game at all. I remember _Steel Talons_ being a good game for the Lynx. _Shadow of the Beast_ was a very faithful port with excellent graphics for the Lynx, but of course kept its mega-difficulty. _Toki_ was a very faithful port of the arcade game, and played excellently, but the limited continues and no saves/passwords made if very difficult to beat. _Dracula the Undead_ was fine for a point and click adventure, but it was really too short. If felt as though it was just the first part of a game. Games for the Lynx tended to either be very faithful ports of arcade (and occasionally computer) games or to feel like they were the start of a good game that failed to include all the originally intended content. The way they talked about it at the time, the Lynx was successful and profitable for Atari, but they failed to fully capitalize on it. They were determined to produce the Jaguar and make a success at that, but it faced much stiffer competition than the Lynx. I remember that a number of game publications thought that Atari would have been better off concentrating on good games for the Lynx and possibly creating a successor for it. It seemed like they would release another good game only when they started running out of money.

First it was Greg leaving Console Wars, now Dave is leaving GameSack. All my favorite shows are taking a hit! And it's always the Nintendo guys too, proving once and for all that SEGA is better... Anyway, best of lucks to Dave. And hey, at least keep doing the odd ending skit together, c'mon!

hmm let's see Nintendo has a shit load of money and STILL is making consoles while SEGA is broke and can't make consoles and make shitty sonic games hmmm yeah SEGA SUCKS!!

@@almostliterally593 Families are overrated. Anybody can have a family. Even monkeys have them. But in order to build civilizations, you have to be driven, you have to be able to see things trough, you have to get things done. That's where we SEGA guys come in.

It was. It could do things in Hardware like sprite scaling that the Megadrive couldn't do without special programming. Contra is a good example of the Megadrive pulling it off.

8 years together and it feels like yesterday when I discovered this channel. It was great having you and nice knowing you, Dave. From us GameSack viewers we wish you farewell (for your last episode to come) and a blissful time of your life with your family. Thank you so much. I will stick with Joe as he goes with the flow like a gamer bro. ;)

Wow, I was not expecting this news. I'm gonna miss you Dave. I just started watching you guys last year but you did bring a lot of joy to my life and a nice way to keep my video-game love still alive, since I rarely play anymore. Enjoy the time with your family, it's not a decision that you will regret. Cheers

Time for family is super important. Much respect. You two have been a great team and Game Sack episodes are probably my favorite channel on KZbin for pure pleasure (hope that didn't sound weird). You'll be missed, Dave. Always enjoyed your quips on the games you played.
